Chapter 416: Chapter 303: Is This Considered Good People Receiving Good Rewards?
Originally planning to leave Jakarta for New York in the next two days, Sean Knight had to stay here for a while longer.
During this time, he rented the Starfish yacht again, and after two days, arrived at his own island.
There was no pier by the island, so the yacht couldn’t dock. Sean and Elijah had to take a rubber boat to get to the island.
The entire island is shuttle-shaped, stretching from southeast to northwest in a long strip.
From the seaside, there’s an upward slope, and only around where Sean parked the rubber boat is there a sandy beach the size of half a football field.
The island is mainly composed of rocky mountains, and it’s covered in unknown shrubbery. You can’t see any flowers or fruits, maybe it’s just not the right time.
"This island... really isn’t that great," Elijah mumbles. "There’s no beach, you can’t build a house, and with typhoons around here, you can’t do anything by the sea."
Sean points to the tall mountain and says:
"I’ll push all the stones on this high mountain flat and throw them into the sea, build an airport, and add a few more floors. Won’t that work?"
Although Elijah had heard Sean talk about it before, looking at the large island and thinking about the massive project, he couldn’t help but shake his head.
"What do you think? After we make money, you guys can also buy an island, and we’ll all become island masters," Sean tempts Elijah.
They have already divided the money, giving Oliver Brooks 30 million dollars and 2.5 million dollars each for Elijah and the others.
Though the golden ingots haven’t been sold yet, having them in the spatial realm doesn’t take up space.
Elijah and the others haven’t said anything, but Sean is still a little worried that they might leave and go back to being wealthy.
He wasn’t worried before, but he can’t say he’s not worried now. Contentment is a motto handed down by the ancestors. Who knows if the three of them have come to their senses - or lost their minds?
"We won’t buy an island. When your island is developed, just leave a spot for us on it, and we’ll build a small courtyard house," Elijah says with a grin.
"No problem!" Sean agrees readily.
After standing on the coast for a while, Sean discovers that there really isn’t anything worth seeing here. There’s no seafood by the sea, and even less wild animals in the mountains.
"Let’s go, there’s nothing more to see here." Sean was excited when they arrived, but now his eyes are filled with disappointment. He can only hope that the island will be more interesting after it’s been leveled and reshaped.
"Boss, let’s walk around," Elijah is still in high spirits. "This island is private property! I think we should take a few more photos at least!" With Elijah’s suggestion, Sean agrees.
Walking around the edge of the island, climbing and taking pictures, Sean subconsciously opens the Sky Eye.
Under the stones are more stones, with occasional minerals that don’t amount to much.
Sean’s disappointment becomes even more evident.
He can only console himself with the fact that the stones will be useful for expanding the island area when thrown into the sea.
About an hour later, when they reach the back of the island and Sean was about to call for Elijah to leave, his eyes suddenly light up!
There seems to be a real mine beneath here!
A thin golden ore line stretches all the way down!
It’s a gold mine!
Even though it’s just a single ore line, Sean can confidently confirm that there’s a gold mine down there!
He dismisses the idea of leaving, wanting to see how much gold is there and if it’s worth mining.
The ore line appears about one and a half meters below the stone surface and follows the terrain’s folds as it slopes downward.
Further down, at a depth of five or six meters, multiple ore lines appear, forming ore surfaces.
Sean simply follows the ore line and continues to move forward, eventually coming across a small stream - and his spirits lift again.
There’s fresh water on the island! That’s excellent! Living here is no problem at all!
Immediately, he squats down and begins searching in the stream.
Elijah finds Sean’s actions a bit strange, so he comes over and asks:
"Boss, what are you looking for? River crabs? Those things are too small..."
"No, look at this." Sean wipes the stream water with his hand and holds his palm in front of Elijah’s face.
"Is this... gold?" Elijah sees it, hesitates for a moment, then blurts out - "Is there a gold mine here?"
"Most likely," Sean says with a smile. "It was worth it. The mine alone makes buying this island a good investment."
Elijah looks at Sean, feeling extremely strange.
Who could have imagined that there was a gold mine on this seemingly useless island that was bought for a fortune?
Is this good fortune for a good person?
Or did their boss have foresight all along?
That’s unlikely, right? It’s clear that this is Sean’s first time on the island. Could he also have the ability to foresee the future?
Sean notices Elijah’s thoughts and says with a proud smile:
"Maybe it’s because good people are rewarded?"
He doesn’t continue talking to Elijah, just follows the stream downward. The further he goes, the larger the area of the gold mine. From time to time, he even spots golden seeds in the sand of the stream.
Almost at the sea exit, Sean suddenly stops, finds a stick nearby and starts digging. In no time, he unearths a palm-sized irregularly shaped piece of natural gold!
Elijah, who followed, finds this incredible!
Was this place specially set aside for their boss?
Sean excitedly holds the natural gold piece - let’s call it a rabbit head gold since it’s smaller than a dog head gold - and starts walking back.
This island was worth buying!
When they return to the yacht, it’s already noon, so Sean cancels their original plans, saying that they’ll rest, eat, and spend one night here before going back.
