Chapter 410: Chapter 300: The Countdown of Life!
Fortunately, Sean Knight observed that the yacht seemed to be headed towards them!
Could it be that the person bitten by the shark was in trouble and they didn’t have medicine, so they were coming over to look for some anti-inflammatory pills or something?
Sean guessed as much.
He was half right.
The yacht stopped about two hundred meters away from the Starfish yacht and sent a small boat over.
Sean stood up on the deck, keeping an eye on the small boat, his expression somewhat cautious.
"Hello, sir!" A man and a woman were on the small boat, with the man rowing and the woman waving at Sean from a distance, raising her hands to show that there was no danger.
"What do you need?" Sean remained vigilant, as it was normal to be cautious on the sea. If you greeted everyone with a smile, you were either a fool or had ulterior motives.
"We saw that you were catching seafood, so we wanted to buy some. We were going to have a barbecue on our yacht, but we don’t have any ingredients..."
So that was it.
Sean’s expression softened and he said:
"We do have some, but how do you plan to buy it?"
"Do you accept US Dollars?" The woman was beautiful and had a gentle voice, "We just got some dollars from a ship in international waters and want to use them to purchase."
"Alright," Sean said, "Wait a moment."
He went into the cabin, filled a net pocket with some crabs, lobsters, and fish, and brought them up, along with a bottle of anti-inflammatory medicine.
This net pocket weighed nearly twenty-two pounds, and Sean was trying to clear his inventory from yesterday.
"This is 500 dollars," Sean deliberately quoted a high price.
"Alright," the woman didn’t bargain. The man behind her wanted to speak, but she glared at him.
The boat came alongside the deck, and the woman handed over the money. After Sean took the money, he handed the net pocket over and took out the anti-inflammatory medicine:
"It looked like one of you was bitten by a shark just now. This is some anti-inflammatory medicine, do you need it?"
"Yes, yes, yes." The woman was overjoyed; they really didn’t have any medicine on their boat – despite being such a large super-yacht, it should have been stocked, but it wasn’t.
The small boat left, and Sean looked at the yacht with interest while thinking about his plan.
After a while, Elijah Hastings and the other two surfaced one after another.
"Those octopuses were crazy, acting like they owned the place." As soon as Douglas Cooper surfaced, he spoke quickly, "We were almost stung!"
From the look on his face, he was still quite shaken.
"Are you guys okay?" Sean asked with concern, but seeing the three of them jumping around, he ignored it. Instead, he continued asking:
"So, were there... in the ship’s cabin?"
"Yes," Elijah interrupted, actually, they had dived for a while underwater before swimming back up. But when they were about to surface, they saw the small boat next to the yacht and knew they couldn’t reveal themselves yet.
It was only after Sean finished trading with them that Elijah signaled to the others, and they all surfaced.
"That boat came over to buy seafood," Sean explained, "We need to hide what we have on their boat when the time comes."
The three of them understood instantly; this was just like what Andie did in school, right?
The super-yacht’s case was much larger than the Starfish yacht’s.
There were not many who would dare to inspect it!
"That’s great!"
Elijah brought up an opaque net pocket onto the deck:
"We indeed found a few hollowed wooden boxes in the cabin of that ship, but the wood has rotted and fell apart once touched. Inside, they were filled with gold and silver ingots."
The net pocket landed on the deck with considerable weight, followed by a second and a third one.
Sean carried the three net pockets into the cabin and poured them into a metal box before returning the net pockets to the three men:
"Get it done as soon as possible. I’m afraid that yacht will leave tomorrow."
The three nodded and continued diving.
It took around forty minutes for each trip, and after five trips, everything inside the sunken ship had been salvaged.
As the sky darkened, Elijah and the other two went to rest in the cabin.
Though they had a unique background, they still couldn’t handle the strain of going up and down from the sea on those multiple trips, as diving did have a significant impact on the body.
Sean and Oliver Brooks, who had already slept for a while, sat in the cabin looking at the neatly arranged gold and silver ingots on the ground.
Sean hadn’t been to the Marquis Haihun’s Tomb Museum, but he figured the gold ingots there would be similar to these ones.
What surprised Sean was that one side of the gold ingot was engraved with the words "Ming Dynasty," below which was a small "Brooks Family" character, making it look unorthodox and unlike government-issued ones.
"Each gold ingot weighs about 6 kilograms, and there are a total of 100. Each silver ingot weighs about 12 kilograms, and there are 20 in total."
Back in the Ming dynasty, one pound was about 600 grams, so this 6-kilogram ingot was the equivalent of 10 pounds.
The Brooks family’s ancestors had a purpose for weighing the gold at that time.
Sean guessed that they wanted to go back to the Ming Dynasty, so they had their names engraved on the gold ingots.
Ingots with names and those without had different prices, of course.
Antique gold is worth far more than today’s gold price.
This 600 kilograms of gold was valued at nearly 100 million!
"It took my family’s ancestors decades to amass this gold," Oliver Brooks tried to keep his tone casual, but he couldn’t hide his excitement!
"Yes, they were really amazing." Sean thought about how they had spent decades in that environment, digging up so much gold and actually managing to save it, all while keeping their secret. That was really impressive!
"Can I... can I hold one and take a good look at it?" Oliver asked, looking at Sean.
In fact, at this point, if Sean had any bad intentions, things could turn deadly for Oliver.
