Chapter 408: Chapter 299: The Mountain Man Has His Own Ingenious Plan
First to enter Sky Eye’s view were several blue octopuses - the octopuses were not large, but Sean Knight was still taken aback when he saw them.
Isn’t this the famous blue-ringed octopus?
It seems that this creature has recently appeared in some domestic hotpot and barbecue stalls.
Such a lovely little thing, but it is extremely venomous!
Beyond the blue-ringed octopuses, Sean saw wooden logs about a meter thick.
And inside these seemingly ordinary wooden logs were the gold bars.
There were five logs, four of which contained gold bars, and one contained silver ingots.
There were other goods in the cargo hold, which appeared to be spices. However, they had already been soaked and rotted by seawater.
Hiding gold in hollowed-out logs – the Brooks Family’s ancestors were quite clever.
Unfortunately, their luck was not on their side, as they were discovered by the colonial navy and ultimately met this fate.
Retracting Sky Eye, Sean looked around the sunken ship.
About 25 meters long and 5 or 6 meters wide, it had the typical appearance of a cargo ship.
There was no sign of weapons or skeletons around the ship. They must have been washed away when the ship sank.
The cause of the shipwreck was a large hole in the bottom of the boat, almost a meter in diameter. Sean guessed that there was a 90% chance that it had been sunk by the Brooks Family themselves – they did not want their belongings to fall into the hands of the colonizers.
Sean slowly approached the sunken ship, and the water flow caught the attention of the octopuses. A few little blue octopuses immediately extended their tentacles in Sean’s direction.
Sean quickly backed off, believing that he could not resist the blue-ringed octopus’s poison with his own physique!
After Sean retreated, the blue-ringed octopuses gradually calmed down.
Sean thought the situation was not difficult to handle. If this was most likely the ship of Chen’s ancestors, all he had to do was destroy the ship to get rid of the octopuses.
But it was best to let Oliver Brooks decide.
Sean backed away a few more steps, and his view fell upon a patch of coral. Sky Eye scanned, revealing a few lobsters and crabs hiding in the coral cave.
Sean raised his fishing gun, intending to catch a couple before surfacing.
His movement immediately alarmed the fish of various sizes hiding in the coral. A fish about a foot long panicked and jammed itself into the sunken ship.
Looking at the fish, Sean was astonished to see dozens of blue-ringed octopuses immediately surrounding it, "sucking" onto the large fish. Within seconds, the fish only struggled once before becoming motionless.
It was then time for the octopuses to eat!
Impressive!
Not to be provoked!
Sean hurriedly aimed his fishing gun at a grouper that came out of the hole to investigate, not caring about the crabs and lobsters. He grabbed the grouper and floated up to the surface.
As he emerged from the water, Sean looked around and hesitated.
Not far away, about half a sea mile, a huge Super Yacht was parked.
Wasn’t that the yacht that swindler Edward Tomlinson had previously boarded?
How did it end up here?
Loud music blared from the yacht. These guys were actually throwing a party?
Sean shook his head and swam towards the Starfish yacht.
Seeing Sean coming, Oliver Brooks on the deck reached out to help him up, and then looking at the grouper, he laughed.
"This is an Eastern Star Grouper, it tastes nice."
Sean nodded, gestured towards the other yacht, and asked:
"When did those guys get here?"
"Just a while ago, I don’t know why they stopped here." Oliver Brooks said, "But they are not too close to us, so we didn’t bother."
It’s a vast sea, and since it’s international waters, there’s no problem as long as others do not park right by your boat.
Oliver Brooks took the grouper and said:
"Let’s just head back tomorrow. We haven’t gained much, so we might as well return early. I’ve had enough of the sea..."
"We can’t leave yet." said Sean, taking off his Diving Suit:
"I have found the sunken ship, and it’s most likely the one belonging to your ancestors..."
"What?" Oliver Brooks was removing the fish from the arrow when he heard Sean’s words. His hand trembled and was cut by a barb on the arrow, but he didn’t bother wiping the blood from his hand, asking anxiously:
"You said you found the ship? Where? Is it true?"
Sean took the fish and the fish arrow from Oliver’s hands, smiling:
"Put on the Diving Suit, and I’ll tell you."
Without a second word, Oliver quickly pulled on the Diving Suit.
Finishing getting dressed in no time and carrying an oxygen cylinder on his back, Oliver jumped into the water. He looked up at Sean expectantly.
"That direction, underwater, about four or five hundred meters away, on the edge of a coral reef."
Upon hearing this, Oliver immediately wanted to dive in.
"Wait!" Sean called out urgently, "There are a lot of blue-ringed octopuses inside the ship. It’s best not to get close. I saw with my own eyes... they came out and killed a big fish with their poison."
"Got it." Oliver replied impatiently and then dove into the water.
Sean smiled, thinking that no matter what they said about letting go, they could never truly let go if they actually found something.
Sean took the Eastern Star Grouper and went into the kitchen.
Douglas Cooper, who was on duty, wanted to help but was sent away by Sean.
The Knight family’s way of cooking fish was to stew it!
It’s not a clear soup, nor red cooking. Heat the oil, add ginger, onion, and spicy skin, fry the fish, turn it over, and then add water for a thorough braising.
People say a thousand rolls for tofu and ten thousand rolls for fish, there’s no problem to stew it a little longer.
Actually, in just over ten minutes, the fragrance of the fish had already begun to spread.
