Chapter 405: Chapter 297: A Counter Trap? _2

Andie patted his chest, promising to keep a close eye on them!

As the sky grew darker, Andie felt more at ease. By now, the yacht had stopped salvaging, and they were enjoying a barbecue and drinks on the deck, making Andie envious.

When it was time for dinner, a crew member called Andie over. Because of his stinginess, Andie ate with the crew, who didn’t like the small dace served with rice but had no choice.

Andie thought to himself that once he got the bonus, he would splurge on a barbecue and waste food just like them!

At night, lights shone on the yacht. Andie was still uneasy, so he arranged for a crew member to keep watch on the yacht to prevent it from sneaking away.

He then went to the captain’s room for some extra food.

At midnight, Andie’s boat rocked gently. However, the crew member who was supposed to be on guard had fallen asleep and didn’t notice.

At daybreak, Sean and his friends woke up. Lincoln Harrington was in charge of breakfast, cooking a delicious seafood porridge.

At that moment, a marine patrol boat approached from afar. Sean thought, "They’re here!"

The patrol boat came right up to the yacht and announced through their loudspeaker:

"Attention to everyone on the yacht! We suspect you of illegally salvaging underwater cultural relics. We order all of you to come to the deck and submit to inspection immediately!"

Sean quickly called everyone to the deck.

Oliver Brooks looked gloomy. He had been reflecting on whether he had done anything wrong to provoke Andie. But after thinking for a while, he hadn’t done anything wrong!

Now he understood that it had nothing to do with him; Andie was simply up to no good!

Oliver vowed to get even with Andie eventually!

Five armed marine policemen boarded the yacht from a small boat.

"Open all the cabin doors! We received a report accusing you of illegal underwater salvage of cultural relics. Submit to our inspection immediately!"

The leader was a 27 or 28-year-old man with an annoyed expression.

Especially when he saw that Sean and the rest were all Chinese, his irritation grew stronger.

This young man was also of Chinese heritage. He thought that Sean and his friends were a disgrace.

Elijah Hastings opened all the cabin doors, while the rest were ordered to stay on the deck and not move.

At this time, Andie’s boat was getting closer.

Seeing the boat approaching the yacht, the young man immediately ordered someone to shout through the loudspeaker:

"That fishing boat, don’t come too close! We’re on official duty, and you must not interfere!"

"I reported them!" Andie, standing on the deck shouted excitedly. "I made the phone call! Let me come over!"

The young man thought Andie must be crazy.

Of course, he knew Andie was the one who reported them. The patrol boat hadn’t approached Andie’s boat earlier to protect him and avoid suspicion. Was Andie an idiot?

However, since Andie exposed himself, there was no point in protecting him anymore. The young man waved for Andie to come over.

Andie rowed his lifeboat over.

Upon reaching the deck, Andie bowed to the young man before smugly saying to Oliver Brooks:

"I told you, Mr. Brooks – you can’t do this! You can’t just randomly salvage stuff from the seafloor! You need a permit! I’ve checked, and you don’t have one! This time, you can’t get away with it... Hahaha!"

Seeing Andie’s arrogant face, Oliver would have used a fish gun on him if it weren’t for Sean’s earlier instructions!

Oliver glared at Andie, but Andie cut him off, saying:

"Don’t scold me, and don’t say anything about revenge either! I’m a citizen of this country, and I love it! I’m not like you... you’re a traitor, a betrayer!"

The young team leader of Chinese heritage watched the scene with a sullen look, not bothering to intervene. His eyes flashed with shame and anger, then disappeared.

At that moment, one of the marine policemen who had inspected the yacht with Elijah reported:

"Team Leader, we found nothing suspicious!"

"Impossible!"

Before the young team leader could answer, Andie shouted, "Did you not check carefully? I watched them for two whole days! I saw them clearly; they salvaged quite a few things from the sea!"

The team leader’s gaze turned from shock to a complicated look.

His eyes swept over Sean, Oliver, and Andie before silently heading into the cabin.

Andie followed immediately, shouting:

"There must be something! Whether it’s a cannon or something else – I saw it, it was big! Make sure you thoroughly investigate!"

However, after checking all the rooms on the yacht, even looking inside the refrigerator, nothing suspicious was found!

The captain returned to the deck with a dark expression, watching Andie.

Andie looked furiously at Oliver Brooks:

"Speak! Speak! Where did you hide the stuff? Tell me! You must have hidden it. I saw it..."

As he was about to grab Oliver Brooks’ collar, Oliver slapped his hand away:

"Don’t touch me; your hands are filthy!"

Andie was so angry that he looked for something to hit him with. His gaze swept across the deck, and suddenly, he made a significant discovery:

"A rope! Look! A rope! They must have hidden something in the sea, hanging it with a rope! Hahaha, I found it!"

He looked triumphantly at Oliver Brooks, expecting to see panic and failure in his expression.

Oliver Brooks looked at Sean Knight, wondering if Mr. Knight would make such a rookie mistake.

The young captain immediately stepped forward and pulled on the rope tied to the deck.

The rope was heavy, and something was indeed hanging below!

The captain’s face darkened once more!

A team member rushed forward to help him pull up the rope, while Andie helped on one side, laughing triumphantly.

Elijah Hastings gave Sean Knight a signal, but Sean told him to calm down.

The rope was finally pulled up, and at the end was an iron cage.

To Andie’s frustration, there were no antiques or cultural relics in the cage as he had claimed—just seven or eight big crabs.

"We caught some seafood while diving, and since we couldn’t finish it all and didn’t want it to spoil, we put it back in the water." Sean Knight explained, and Oliver Brooks felt relieved as he translated.

The Chinese captain looked suspiciously at Oliver Brooks’ expression, but since they had basically cleared their suspicions at this point, he didn’t say anything more.

"Impossible! Absolutely impossible! There must be something!"

Andie searched all over the deck but found no more ropes.

Finally, he even jumped into the water, diving to see if Oliver Brooks and the others had tied something under the boat.

But alas, he found nothing.

When Andie, wet and dripping, was pulled back up by the Marine police, he resembled a frostbitten eggplant, completely deflated and devoid of his previous arrogance.

The young captain glared at Andie before saying to Sean Knight and Oliver Brooks:

"After inspection, we found no issues with you. However, I still want to remind you that this is Indonesian territorial sea. We hope you will follow our laws and not engage in illegal activities!"

With that, he prepared to leave.

Sean Knight suddenly said:

"Is it possible..."

As soon as he began speaking, the Chinese captain stopped.

Sean was speaking Chinese, and the captain could understand.

Sean thought it would be easier to communicate now.

"Is it possible that there’s something on his boat?"

Sean pointed to Andie’s boat.

"Officer, you heard that this captain clearly has an issue with Mr. Brooks. Is it possible that he’s using it as an opportunity for personal revenge? Maybe he’s actually the thief calling for the thief?"

"No, no, no! Absolutely not! I always follow the law. There’s nothing on my boat! You’re talking nonsense! You must be talking nonsense!" The soggy, miserable Andie almost had his soul fly away.

Sean finally realized that Andie could also understand some Chinese!

The Chinese captain suddenly stared at Sean:

"You want to use me?"

"Use?" Sean was not at all affected by his imposing manner, "That’s not necessary. I just want fairness."

He pointed at Andie:

"Don’t you see that his behavior is highly suspicious?"

The captain turned to look at Andie and indeed found a trace of panic in his eyes!
