Chapter 400: Chapter 295: Illegal Salvage!

Sean Knight, with an oxygen cylinder on his back and a fish gun in his hand, slowly dived towards the big cave.

Suddenly, six long tentacles stretched out from the cave and viciously coiled around Sean!

"Hiss!"

Sean was prepared and raised his fish gun, shooting directly at the center of the tentacles!

The octopus had no time to dodge and was hit squarely!

Sean retracted the rope, forcefully pulling out the huge octopus with tentacles reaching up to two meters long!

The octopus had initially believed that capturing Sean and eating him would be an easy task, but it hadn’t expected its opponent to be even stronger than itself!

Only two of the tentacles that served as legs were left inside, so the creature had no choice but to attach its suckers to both sides of the boat planks and engage Sean in a tug-of-war game.

After undergoing an energy transformation, Sean’s body was incredibly strong. He pulled hard, drawing out the octopus’s two remaining tentacles while also dislodging two boat planks.

The original half-meter-square hole suddenly doubled in size, with dust swirling in the seawater. Sean knew that this wasn’t the best time to retrieve items. While fighting the octopus’s tentacles, he swam upwards.

Even with the fish gun hitting its weak point, the octopus’s combat power had decreased significantly. Yet, it still managed to tightly coil around Sean’s upper body, making him feel a little stifled.

Emerging at the surface, Sean disregarded the octopus’s suckers that were fiercely clamped onto his muscles, and swam towards the direction of the yacht.

On the deck, Oliver Brooks saw Sean swimming with tentacles occasionally popping out around him and was greatly taken aback!

Upon arriving closer, he realized it was a huge octopus and finally relaxed a little.

Oliver, who had lived by the sea for many years, naturally knew how dangerous the creature could be and quickly pulled Sean aboard.

Douglas Cooper, who had already gotten on board, hurried over to help. The three of them worked together and pulled the octopus down.

Sean looked at his body, already covered with blue and purple bruises, resembling numerous round marks left by cupping therapy.

"This is quite a serious injury!" Oliver expressed his concern.

"It’s fine; it will heal quickly." Sean felt itchy on the parts that were being sucked, indicating that the scratches were healing. He laughed and said:

"We can have roasted octopus tonight!"

"No problem!" Douglas exclaimed excitedly, "I’ve never seen such a huge octopus before! It almost seems supernatural!"

Sean turned to Oliver:

"I found a sunken ship underwater..."

"Really?" Upon hearing this, Oliver excitedly grabbed Sean’s arm, "Is it the ship of my ancestors? What’s inside, and what did you see?"

Sean didn’t expect him to be so excited and gently patted him, signaling him not to get too worked up. Then he said:

"I don’t know whether the ship was sunk from an attack or an accident. There’s a big hole on the side, and this guy was inside."

He pointed at the octopus.

"However, I guess it might not be your ancestor’s ship, so don’t get your hopes up too high..."

Oliver’s face turned somewhat sullen after listening to Sean.

Sean smiled and said:

"I’m not saying this to discourage you, but to tell you that this area was probably an ancient waterway, hence the presence of a sunken ship.

Since it’s a waterway, if your ancestor’s ship sank, it must have been on this route, which means we’re on the right track."

Oliver’s face brightened slightly after hearing Sean’s explanation.

"Alright, I’ll go down and take another look. Maybe I can find something valuable in the ship. Then, at the very least, you wouldn’t have to live in poverty like you are now!"

Oliver forced a smile and said:

"I won’t take a share. This is all your merit. I just hope we can find my ancestor’s sunken ship soon..."

Sean interrupted him and said:

"We need to put in the effort to achieve our goals, but life must go on. Since we have this opportunity, why be so stubborn? I wouldn’t have been able to find the sunken ship without you."

Oliver wanted to say something, but Sean cut him off once again:

"Don’t worry, I’m a treasure hunter; I’m very selfish. I won’t share much with you."

Upon hearing this, Oliver became somewhat embarrassed:

"That’s not what I meant..."

"Well, that’s exactly what I meant."

After saying that, Sean laughed heartily.

Feeling his energy restored, Sean dived again, heading back to the sunken ship’s location.

By now, the turbulent water had calmed, and the number of sea fish in the area had increased. Sean suspected that the fishes had become bolder due to their octopus predator being captured>.

It was now easy to access the large hole underwater, so Sean used his Sky Eye to scan the area and gradually swam inside.

Entering the ship’s cabin, he realized the ship wasn’t large, at least not as big as their rented Starfish yacht.

The cargo inside the cabin had become a chaotic mess due to the shipwreck.

There were ten packages of iron wooden boxes.

Sean approached and gently moved one of them, finding it surprisingly sturdy and showing no signs of decay.

The cabin had been divided into several sections, indicating that the concept of watertight compartments was already known at the time.

He forcibly opened the existing cabin door and entered another smaller chamber.

Inside were two iron boxes, one large and one small, both with intricate patterns. To Sean’s surprise, he saw Chinese characters on them!

Clearly, this was yet another Chinese vessel from hundreds of years ago.

Or perhaps it contained goods that had been plundered or purchased from the Chinese?

In the two boxes, one held irregularly-shaped gold ingots, while the other held silver ingots.
