Chapter 368: Chapter 278: Evil and Wealth Coexist_2
Sean remembered that the location was in Austria, and he still needed to travel there.
He wanted to wait for a while, but he didn’t think he’d hear back from Cheryl.
He toured various regions in France for a while, just for fun this time.
Finally, he returned to Paris.
During this time, Sean also kept an eye on the news, and the war between Russia and Ukraine didn’t stop, and it wasn’t likely to in the short term.
He called Eric Barber, and as expected, it was impossible to go to Belarus for the time being.
Eric sounded furious on the phone:
"Van Derick didn’t listen to me and sneaked off to Belarus on his own. As soon as he got off the plane, he was detained. They called me, but I don’t care about him! I warned him over and over not to go there..."
Sean was speechless.
Obviously, it was Van Derick’s fault, and Eric also wanted to make things difficult for him.
If Eric had seriously warned him and explained the situation, Van Derick would have listened.
However, Van Derick was also blinded by greed and wanted to have everything for himself.
As a result, he choked himself.
It was troublesome to rescue people before, and this time he got caught. It was unlikely he would get out anytime soon.
Sean did not ask about Cheryl’s situation.
Since he couldn’t get through to her on the phone, Eric probably didn’t know either.
After hanging up, Sean decided to head back to the United States.
As he was packing, there was a knock on the door.
"Come in," Sean stood up, turning around to see that the person who came in was not Elijah Hastings as he had imagined, but instead, someone he hadn’t expected but could understand - Heine Victor.
"Hello, Mr. Sean Knight," Heine glanced at Sean’s packed luggage - a deflated backpack, clothes scattered on the sofa to be folded, and toiletries. Disappointment flashed in his eyes - there were none of the artworks, gold products, and other items he had imagined.
"Mr. Heine? Please have a seat," Sean’s expression showed the right amount of surprise, "I really didn’t expect you to be here."
There was no tea in the suite, so Sean took two cans of drinks from the mini fridge and handed one to Heine.
Heine took the drink and sat down on the sofa, asking:
"Mr. Knight, where are you heading?"
"Going back," Sean replied while packing, "I came here to participate in a treasure hunt competition. After that, I went treasure hunting with others but couldn’t finish because of some unforeseen issues. Now I have nothing to do, so I’m planning to go back."
Heine remained silent for a moment before saying:
"If I invite you to join us, would you agree?"
"No, no, no," Sean shook his head right away, "I can’t stand a constrained life. And besides, it’s unlikely that you would accept me as a core member."
Heine knew Sean was telling the truth.
The members of their organization were all of the same race, so they wouldn’t accept someone from another race as a core member.
If he tried to make Sean an external member, Heine wouldn’t even be able to justify it, let alone Sean himself.
But as soon as the suspicion arose, Heine knew that a face-to-face confrontation with Sean was inevitable.
"Did you go out the night before last, Mr. Knight?" Heine finally asked, "Did you find any SS treasure? If so, I hope you will be honest about it."
"No," Sean looked Heine in the eye and said "honestly", "I did go to a few castles and made some discoveries. I was planning to go back for a closer look at night, but unfortunately, I didn’t find anything."
Looking into Sean’s eyes, Heine felt pure honesty, without any hint of evasion.
"Really?" Heine still had doubts, but he figured it was unlikely considering that he’d always thought Sean was the most suspicious person.
When David reported to him, he said he spotted Sean and another person returning at two in the morning, carrying backpacks.
If they had actually found an SS treasure, there was no way they could have hidden it in just one backpack.
But suspicion was suspicion, and just because it didn’t fit doesn’t mean it wasn’t there. Sean might have another way to hide it.
Heine sent David to search the city where Sean had been and the nearby areas, but David hadn’t returned yet.
But Heine already knew that Sean Knight was planning to leave, so he could only come to stop him.
"Mr. Heine, are you still doubting me?" Sean Knight’s face suddenly changed, and he said coldly, "I am a free man, where I go and what I do is my freedom! If you are a policeman with a badge, then come and arrest me, I will cooperate unconditionally.
I used to think of you as my friend, and I answered everything you asked very happily. But I found that you didn’t treat me as a friend, but as a prisoner, as your opponent! So, Mr. Heine, you are not welcome here, please leave!"
Heine was stunned for a moment, and he didn’t expect Sean Knight to change his face all of a sudden.
However, he quickly figured it out.
It was normal for Sean Knight to show his true colors.
When he came over, he asked Sean Knight as if he was interrogating a prisoner. It would be strange if Sean Knight didn’t get angry!
He was not his prisoner!
Heine didn’t want to go this far, and he felt that Sean Knight didn’t want to go this far either.
But eventually, it came to this point.
The problem was, Heine knew, according to the organization’s character, Sean Knight didn’t say it, and was listed as a doubt. The next step would be to do something illegal.
He didn’t want to have a big fuss, so when he first came in, he was thinking of pulling Sean Knight into the organization, even as a peripheral member!
However, it was now impossible.
Heine sighed and turned to leave.
As soon as Heine left, Sean Knight immediately felt something was wrong.
He didn’t pack up his things, but immediately called Elijah Hastings and the other two to come over.
"The people from Judas are here, suspecting that we’ve dug up their targets, so they may take dangerous actions against us."
"Boss, what do you say?"
"Be vigilant and careful. Don’t leave for now; stay for another two days. If they take action, then we’ll fight back!" Sean Knight is not a weakling; if the other party takes advantage of him, he should know how to fight back, or else it would be better to stay at home and not go out.
It’s safe there.
The three of them, Elijah Hastings, understood.
After renewing the room, Sean Knight and the others did not stay in the room but continued to go out.
In the evening, when they came back from outside and were about to return to the hotel, a car suddenly drove up next to them and stopped beside Sean Knight. As soon as the car door opened, the person inside reached out to pull Sean Knight in.
However, what they did not expect was that Sean Knight reacted swiftly, and as soon as the car door opened, he jumped to one side. Elijah Hastings and the others were always on edge; although they didn’t have guns, their reactions were extremely fast. They grabbed the arm and yanked the person down!
Meanwhile, Lincoln Harrington and Douglas Cooper immediately ran to open the car doors on both sides, pulling the driver and the passenger out!
There was still one person in the car; seeing that the situation was unfavorable, he immediately drew his gun. Sean Knight smashed several sticks in his hand into the car, along with a pot taken out of the spatial realm.
The person didn’t expect to encounter such a weapon, and was directly knocked down by the sticks, and then Sean Knight jumped on him and hammered him!
When the police arrived at the scene, the four people in the car had already been knocked down, and the four guns found in the car were placed aside.
A tourist had been holding a mobile phone to record the scene since the beginning. After Sean Knight and the others subdued these people, he immediately went up and hoped to transfer the video to his phone as evidence. The white person said straightforwardly:
"I’ll be a witness for you guys! It’s you who maintained order! Down with the bad guys!"
Sean Knight didn’t expect the man to be so righteous. After thanking him, they waited for the police to arrive.
When the police came over and learned about the situation, they wanted to defuse the tension, but their faces changed when they saw the four guns!
This was a big case!
Everyone, including the eyewitness, was taken to the police station.
With the witnesses, Sean Knight and his team were only required to make simple records as the victims and were soon allowed to leave.
As for the fate of those four people, Sean Knight didn’t know.
It probably wouldn’t be too good.
"Boss, shall we take action now?" Douglas Cooper was a bit excited, "These guys clearly wanted to kidnap you, Boss. We can’t stand this!"
Douglas Cooper had kept his cool for so long, and finally revealed his true colors this time.
But this was the energy Sean Knight needed right now!
