Chapter 365: Chapter 277: This Quantity is Too Large!

Entering the mine cave, Sean Knight didn’t take out his light for illumination.

With the Sky Eye open, darkness seemed like daylight, and everything was visible to his eyes.

The mine cave was dark and damp, and not far from the entrance, plants had already taken root in the ore.

Further in, the plants disappeared, and the ground gradually became dry.

This mine passage had only a simple track and not far in, it split into three separate forks.

Sean hesitated for a moment and chose the left one, planning to explore all three.

However, the deeper he went, the more complex the mine cave became, and two more forks appeared.

However, only one of them had tracks while the other was relatively smaller in space and might have been manually excavated for carrying the ore out.

Considering this was seventy or eighty years ago, such a situation seemed normal.

Sean chose the left mine cave once again.

Going deeper, it went straight to the end without branching, but there were no useful discoveries.

Apart from an emergency shelter for miners, there were just a few candles and two empty wooden boxes, and nothing else.

Sean exited and went to the human-excavated cave.

The deeper he went, the narrower it became, and finally, the height of the cave made it impossible to walk with a straight back.

Sean already doubted that this could be the place he was searching for.

But just to be safe, he continued to the end and found a skeleton right at the back.

The skeleton of a child worker, only two-thirds the size of an adult, with rotten clothes by his side and a basket containing a few ores.

Sean silently sighed, then buried the bones in dirt.

Returning, with a somewhat heavy heart.

Back at the three-way fork, Sean chose the middle mine cave.

He took almost an hour to walk through the previous left one.

He thought the middle cave would be similar, but unexpectedly, it was much deeper!

And there were much deeper branches!

By now, Sean knew that this used to be a huge iron mine that played a significant role in the wartime era.

This middle path should be the main area for ore production, and along the way, there were three deep, seemingly bottomless corridors branching horizontally.

Below, there was a mine shaft. The elevator was gone, but the iron chains were still there.

Sean explored down one by one until he finished traversing the middle path, four hours had already passed.

Despite leveling up the Sky Eye several times, continuous usage like this left him utterly exhausted.

Facing the right fork, Sean sighed, "I’ll come back later."

He exited the mine cave.

Elijah Hastings was already anxiously waiting for him inside.

Seeing Sean come out, he immediately asked, "Boss, is everything alright?"

"Nothing’s wrong, just no rewards." Sean shook his head, tiredly saying, "Let’s go back. Tomorrow... No, let’s come back the day after."

Elijah immediately supported Sean into the car, then drove back to the hotel.

Sean lay in bed, falling asleep without taking off his clothes.

The energy expended was just too great.

Sean slept until afternoon before waking up.

He felt somewhat refreshed, but the Sky Eye’s energy restored very slowly.

Luckily, he had something in the spatial realm.

He directly took out a row of terracotta figurines, one by one, absorbing the energy inside of them.

It took the absorption of energy from more than twenty terracotta figurines to almost refill the Sky Eye with energy.

Feeling the energy stored in the Sky Eye was still low and needed another upgrade!

Sean suddenly laughed.

Thinking back to when he first got the Sky Eye, its energy was not even enough to see through six containers.

Now he could endure several hours, yet he was still unsatisfied.

People are indeed greedy!

His clothes were wrinkled, so he took them off, had a shower, changed into new clothes, and opened the door with a clear feeling.

Then he saw Elijah and the others looking at him from across the room.

"Boss, you’re awake?" Elijah immediately asked, "Should I order some food now?"

"No need, let’s go out and eat."

Even though they didn’t find the treasure, Sean was in a good mood as he, Elijah, and the two others went to the hotel lobby and asked the receptionist where they could get some delicious food.

The receptionist showed them the way, and they walked over to replenish their energy with a meal.

Naturally, the recommendation didn’t disappoint – oysters, foie gras, snails, steak, and other dishes let Sean enjoy a taste of exotic cuisine, at least not seriously complaining anymore.

After eating, they strolled around the small town and on the way back, Lincoln Harrington suddenly whispered, "Someone is watching us!"

Elijah and Douglas Cooper’s faces tensed up a bit, but their movements didn’t change.

Sean wondered, who was watching him? Was it Heine Victor’s people or Cheryl Suweton’s people, or someone else?

Sean knew he was already attracting attention.

A few treasure hunts had yielded good results, and he had sold many items with energy.

Presumably, there should be quite a few people keeping an eye on him, right?

He didn’t look back, but instead asked, "Do they have hostility or threat potential?"

"There are many, but it’s unclear for now. For the moment, they’re just watching us." Lincoln said.

"Then let’s not bother about them. Let’s just stroll around and then go back to the hotel."

Following that, Sean just wandered around the busier areas, bought some specialty handicrafts, and then went back to the hotel.

Back at the hotel, Sean told Elijah and the others, "Later, you guys take turns going out and find out how long these people are watching, where they are, and what they’re doing. Remember, don’t startle them; once you have a good idea, tell me."
