Chapter 362 - 276: The Disappearance of Cheryl Suweton

Chapter 362: Chapter 276: The Disappearance of Cheryl Suweton

Sean Knight didn’t expect Cheryl Suweton, who originally looked pitiful, to be so strong, or rather, so competitive on the "battlefield."

Although she was inexperienced, she turned out to be spontaneous after Sean instructed her in their first encounter because of her well-trained physique. This surprised him.

One night passed, and both Sean and Cheryl felt refreshed after completing the ceremony.

Upon leaving, Cheryl said:

"I never thought that such a thing would be so... intoxicating! Maybe it’s only so fascinating when I’m with you..."

When Cheryl left, she met Elijah Hastings and others who came knocking on the door.

Cheryl gave them a smile and then returned to her room.

Elijah knocked on the door and entered. A resentful Douglas Cooper said:

"Boss, I don’t think you are much more handsome than me. Why doesn’t the girl like me?"

Elijah ignored his grievances and asked:

"Boss, are we going back today?"

"Yes, if Van Derick is safely retrieved, we will follow Eric Barber’s arrangement."

Elijah was relieved.

This trip was short but dangerous. It was their first time facing military personnel abroad, and although the sneak attack was a perfect success, Elijah was still worried about their safety here.

After breakfast, Eric Barber came over to greet Sean, saying:

"Last night, after some effort, I finally persuaded someone. Today we should retrieve Van Derick and then return to Paris."

Sean and the others then packed their things in their respective rooms, waiting quietly.

Unexpectedly, Cheryl sneaked in again, locked the "Do Not Disturb" sign outside the door, pushed Sean down on the bed, and started a new round of games.

Sean didn’t expect Cheryl to be so enthusiastic about this, but he didn’t show any weakness either. He only stopped when Cheryl ran out of energy.

Around noon, Cheryl left. Not long after, Eric Barber returned with Van Derick and two women.

Van Derick looked a bit embarrassed, with some bruises on his face, but upon seeing Sean, he smiled:

"Mr. Sean Knight, I really have to thank you! Otherwise, there would have been no gain from this trip and even some losses!"

His appearance, which showed no concern for his image, made Sean see him in a different light.

By this time, the two women looked like wilted radishes and seemed to have been tormented quite a bit.

Sean exchanged a few polite words and left Van Derick alone.

After having lunch in the hotel and packing up their things, they left in a convoy.

Cheryl openly sat with Sean in a car, but since the off-road vehicles were spacious, there was no problem with crowding.

At the airport, they boarded the same rented passenger plane, which carried both people and cars.

After Eric Barber settled the payment for the mercenaries, he was the last one to board.

As the plane took off, Sean didn’t feel safe—they had walked on the edge of war, and although they didn’t see anything, he worried that the plane might be hit by a missile.

After arriving at the airport and landing, Sean and the others finally relaxed.

Carrying her backpack out of the airport, Cheryl suddenly threw away the backpack, hugged Sean, and kissed him deeply, so much so that they almost couldn’t catch their breath.

Sean was still a bit confused, while at this moment, Elijah and the others were on high alert as a group of elite men dressed in black approached.

As expected, they were targeting Sean and his group!

Cheryl finally ended the long kiss and whispered to Sean:

"Remember me!"

She turned around and strode away.

Sean was still puzzled. Then he saw that Cheryl was surrounded by those men in black. One of them picked up her backpack, and they escorted her away.

Cheryl had an extraordinary identity after all!

Eric Barber approached and sighed:

"Mr. Sean Knight, I didn’t know Cheryl’s real identity either, but I was warned to ensure her safety. Now, I think I might encounter some trouble."

Sean felt a sense of loss.

It was impossible for him to fall in love with Cheryl. Perhaps she didn’t love him either, but under such circumstances, she believed that he was trustworthy and dependable.

"Let’s go back and talk about it," said Sean, having no other choice but to return first to discuss further.

Returning to Eric Barber’s villa, Sean found that Van Derick’s two women hadn’t come along.

After resting for half an hour, Eric Barber called Van Derick and Sean to his study.

"Alright, let’s talk about what happens next."

Van Derick insisted:

"I must go back! I’ve made a major discovery! I’m not willing to just be kicked out like this!"

Sean didn’t mind either way; he felt that he had already reaped something, so whether or not he went didn’t matter.

"All right, Sean, do you have any ideas?" Eric Barber made sure to ask for Sean’s thoughts.

It was evident from this treasure hunt that although Sean led many, he never caused any trouble and could help even out the situation. Since he was good at treasure hunting, it was crucial to win him over.

"I have no objections. I have nothing to do recently, so if you want to go, just let me know in advance," said Sean. "However, it would be better to wait for some time; otherwise, I worry that we might be kicked out again soon after arriving."
