Chapter 350: Chapter 270: Safety is a Problem _2

He had the Sky Eye, a golden finger, and treasure hunting never took longer than a month for him. So, he was a bit unaccustomed to treasure hunting that took several months.

But in reality, real treasure hunting often lasts several months or even several years or even more than a decade!

There were also quite a few cases like Hans, whose lifelong goal was to find the same treasure.

After discussing the route for a while, and confirming it, Eric asked again:

"Okay, do you have any other questions now?"

Sean Knight said:

"I have three companions - or rather, my bodyguards. I need to bring them along."

Eric was taken aback.

What did he mean, he didn’t trust me?

Sean Knight spoke openly:

"It’s our first time collaborating, and I’m afraid I might not be familiar with some things. These three are both my bodyguards and my assistants. I’m not comfortable treasure hunting without them."

As for whether it was the treasure hunting or the safety issue that made him not feel at ease, that depended on each person’s interpretation.

Cheryl suddenly said:

"As for your three companions, I do know about them. It seems you have brought them along on every treasure hunt in the later stage..."

"Yes." Sean Knight didn’t expect Cheryl to speak up for himself and immediately nodded his head in appreciation.

Eric thought about it and said:

"That’s fine. But you’ll have to cover their expenses yourself."

"Of course." Sean Knight understood.

Eric then said to Van Derick and Cheryl:

"You can also bring along companions. But up to three. We must keep this matter confidential. If the information leaks, no matter who leaked it, we have it in our contract, the amount of compensation is up to one billion euros. I hope you will consider it."

Van Derick thought for a moment and said:

"I’ll bring two people."

Eric smiled and asked:

"Is it Elena and Veronica?"

There was a hint of ambiguity in his smile, Sean Knight could tell.

Van Derick just smiled and nodded.

Cheryl said:

"I don’t need to bring anyone, I can do it myself."

This was a strong woman.

Sean Knight initially thought Van Derick and Cheryl were a couple, but it turned out they were temporary teammates now as well.

"Meet at the airport tomorrow." Eric saw there were no problems and finally said, "Get ready as soon as possible today."

Everyone understood why he was in such a hurry.

Even if the news gets out, others who want to intercept would at least have to prepare supplies and assemble personnel. Such things can’t be done in a short while.

With their supplies and personnel already prepared, they’ll be ready to leave tomorrow. Even if outsiders knew, their incomplete supplies and unprepared plans wouldn’t be able to compete with them.

After leaving the villa, Sean Knight got in the car and briefed the three men.

"Since we are going to Belarus, although there are no wars there, it is close to Ukraine, so everyone must be careful."

"Weapons..." Douglas Cooper asked the first question.

"Eric should provide it," Sean Knight said. "If he doesn’t, I’ll provide them for you."

Elijah Hastings immediately said, "We understand. This time we will be your personal bodyguards and assistants in the team, and our first task is to ensure your safety."

"Yes, that’s the idea," Sean Knight nodded. "You also need to pay attention to your own safety. Now that we are abroad, don’t display your kindness at will. First, ensure your own safety before thinking about saving others."

The three of them looked at each other and then nodded.

Although the words were a bit selfish, it was understandable when going abroad.

The four of them prepared their supplies. Although Eric said he would bring them, it was still necessary to prepare some essential items.

Fortunately, they were all veterans, and they had been shopping in Paris for the past three days, so they were quick at buying things.

The next day, they went to the airport and found Eric.

Eric was dressed in hunting attire, his expression more serious with some of his smiles gone. He formally dealt with Sean Knight and the others’ procedures and boarded the cargo plane.

This was a belly cargo plane, without comfortable seating. Fortunately, Sean and his three companions were not picky.

The "belly" of the cargo plane was large, with three bulletproof off-road vehicles and one pickup truck covered in netting and fastened to the plane’s floor with steel wires.

People sat in folding chairs hanging on both sides.

After boarding the plane, Sean and his companions quickly chose their seats and fastened themselves in. However, none of them seemed nervous.

After all, the flight distance was equivalent to that between two provinces in the country and not considered far.

Next, Van Derick arrived with two tall, model-like young women.

Although dressed for travel, it was clear that both women had excellent figures, attractive faces, thick lips, big buttocks, bob haircuts, with cold and charming expressions.

They looked like they had been trained.

After greeting Sean, Van Derick introduced which one was Elena and which one was Veronica.

Sean was a little envious. It was great to have such secretaries to get things done on the road.

Cheryl Suweton arrived last, carrying a large travel bag and looking like a tomboy.

Once everyone was aboard, Eric Barber told everyone to check their seat belts and fasten them tightly. He explained that the flight in the cargo plane would be bumpier than a passenger plane, and they should be careful not to get hurt.

Elijah Hastings checked Sean’s seatbelt, while everyone else looked after themselves. Since they were not familiar with each other, Elijah didn’t go to check their seatbelts.

As the plane took off, it indeed shook violently and then ascended at a steep angle— it didn’t feel good at all.

Nonetheless, in only a dozen minutes, the plane entered the stratosphere and stabilized.

Sean and the others were fine, thanks to the energy boost in their bodies at least they didn’t feel dizzy.

It felt like riding a roller coaster.

Van Derick’s female companions, Elena and Veronica, seemed to be struggling, their faces pale. If not for their determination, they might have vomited on the spot.

Van Derick was also hastily stuffing pills in his mouth, obviously uncomfortable as well.

Fortunately, the journey was short, and they soon landed.

Even though Sean had experienced numerous dangers, he felt more secure once his feet were on the ground.

It’s not easy to feel comfortable while suspended in the air.

After driving the vehicles out of the cargo plane, Eric assigned one car to Sean and his three companions, one for himself and Cheryl, and one for Van Derick and the two women.

Outside the airport, three off-road vehicles were waiting.

Meeting up with these vehicles, the medium-sized convoy set off towards the outskirts of town.

Sean was a bit surprised by Eric’s efficiency.

There was no delay at all!

The mercenaries occupied the three off-road vehicles.

"Those people have guns." After observing for a while, Lincoln Harrington suddenly said.

Elijah was driving, while Sean took a backpack with a folding submachine gun and pistol out of his own bag, gave it to Douglas Cooper to check, load the bullets, and distribute.

"Don’t worry about them. At least for now, they are on our side." Sean activated his Sky Eye and discovered that Cheryl, Van Derick, and the others were all carrying pistols.

None of them in there were pushovers.

The convoy stopped for a rest in a small town.

Eric took everyone to a restaurant for a meal.

They had potato pies, herring salads, beet soup, and other dishes, as well as a sticky potato beef stew-like feast that seemed quite exotic.

However, no one complained. After rushing through the meal and taking care of the garbage in their bodies for half an hour, they set off again after refueling.

When the convoy passed through another small town, they encountered a police checkpoint. Eric went up to negotiate, and in ten minutes or so, they were on their way once more.

They continued their way into the night. As there were no villages nearby, they set up camp in a deserted area and ate dry food.

Looking at the self-heating dry food labeled "MADE IN CHINA," Sean admired the powerful export capacity of domestic products.

"It doesn’t taste quite the same as the ones we have back home." Douglas prepared the food and took a bite, "Seems sweeter?"

"I don’t really like it. I still think the ones we buy in our country taste better." Elijah was not used to the flavor.

"Look at them, they’re enjoying it." Lincoln pointed at the others.

The ten mercenaries wolfed down their food.

Two of them were on sentry duty outside.

They all looked quite professional.

Sean didn’t say anything. According to Eric’s plan, they would reach their target area tomorrow.
