Chapter 331: Chapter 261: The Obvious Contrast of Nobles!

That night Joanna had to go home and couldn’t come over, so Sean Knight went to bed early.

The next day after having breakfast, Kathy Lewis said to Sean:

"Sir, I’m going to make a call to inquire about the crystal matter."

Kathy is always polite as usual, and Sean nodded, already used to it.

Of course, she always received a handsome bonus for every service, Sean didn’t want such a useful butler to become a mere tool after exhausting his uncle’s favor.

In the morning, Joanna had classes, Elijah and his team were busy at the freight yard, and Sean decided not to go out and read in the study room instead.

He used to read mainstream books; therefore, his values are quite stable and follow mainstream beliefs too. When he came to America, he opened his eyes and discovered how naive many Chinese people were and that there is all kind of people here. Their moral limit could be quite low.

Of course, there are also those who strive to become saints.

Both extremes.

Then there was this crystal hand bone incident, which made Sean realize how diverse the world truly is.

He used to be skeptical about the "Entering China" theory, as it was proven a hypothesis. But now he realizes it has many contradictions!

Or to say it has many discrepancies with reality.

However, the hypothesis has become mainstream, and other theories and viewpoints have long been abandoned.

This is a bit too much.

So now, Sean is more interested in other theories.

That’s why he searches for books from some niche anthropologists and gives them a read.

This reading consumed the entire morning.

Sean was surprised to find that even reading these books could lead him to some clues!

However, these clues were somewhat vague and needed sorting out.

Sean didn’t lack clues at the moment, but he lacked time.

But now that he had money, his motivation wasn’t as high.

Now, he is more concerned about the truth of the world.

How did humans actually come into existence?

Why do the sacrificial artifacts discovered in America show strong life energy? What caused it?

While he was deep in thought, the phone rang.

Looking at the caller ID, it was Mr. Smith. Sean laughed,

"This must be about the buyer, right?"

He answered the call, and Mr. Smith excitedly said on the other side:

"Mr. Knight, I have contacted a billionaire who is highly interested in the crystal hand bone in your possession and said he’s willing to buy it. If you like, I’ll give him your contact information so that you can negotiate directly with the buyer yourself."

"Sounds good." Sean didn’t have a strong interest in the item, and if he could convert it to cash, he would be more than happy.

After hanging up with Mr. Smith, Sean decided not to read anymore and just waited for the call from the buyer.

In his mind, the buyer should call very soon.

But unexpectedly, he had to wait nearly half an hour and had to pick up a book again before a stranger called.

Sean was annoyed, and was naturally very impolite upon picking up the call:

"Hello, who is this?"

The other party was polite, but the politeness seemed to be insincere:

"Greetings, I am the butler of Hugh Perkins. My master has learned that you have a unique item for sale. Isn’t it your lucky day? My master is an accomplished collector. If he accepts your item into his collection, it would be an honor for you!"

"You must be sick!" Sean initially thought he would have received a call from the buyer, but it was just a lackey, even worse, a self-important servant!

At this attitude, Sean was more angered, so he cursed and hung up the phone.

On the other side, Hugh Perkins’s butler stood there stunned, holding the antique phone embedded with ivory, bewildered by the unorthodox response.

How could the other party not follow the usual protocol?

Upon hearing that Hugh Perkins was interested in buying their item, should the other party be happy?

It seems that the other party must be a vulgar person!

He has no respect for the etiquette of the aristocracy! What a lack of manners!

At this time, Hugh Perkins, the employer introduced by Mr. Smith, came over with a wine glass and asked:

"Joyce, what did the other party say?"

"Uh...he cursed me, saying that I’m sick." Joyce wasn’t good at lying and answered truthfully.

"What? How dare he insult you!" Hugh Perkins got a little angry and put down his wine glass, "Call Mr. Smith and ask if he gave the wrong number, or if he introduced us to a rude person. You represent my image, and I will not tolerate insults like this!"

Joyce was moved and then called Mr. Smith.

However, Smith’s mobile phone was engaged.

Of course, Sean was complaining to Mr. Smith at this moment:

"What kind of butler does Hugh Perkins have? How can a butler be so condescending, even saying, ’it would be an honor for the item to be accepted by his master.’ I think the person needs to see a doctor!"

Mr. Smith, a bit taken aback by Sean’s complaint, explained:

"Mr. Knight, Joyce has always been like this, and we’ve gotten used to it. The main reason is that Hugh Perkins himself is a nobleman, a hereditary one. Although he’s only a viscount, he’s quite famous in his circle."

"Americans also have nobles?" Sean was a little surprised. "That should not be the case? The passengers on the Mayflower were all bandits and fugitives...right? "

Looking a bit embarrassed, Mr. Smith changed the subject and explained: "No, no, Hugh Perkins is a Danish noble, just prefers to live in America, claiming he likes American culture."
