Chapter 310: Chapter 251: Can’t Take a Joke for Real!

After passing through customs, Sean Knight and others found an inn to stay in at Khorgos.

Sean had a room to himself, and Alistair Murray had a rented room nearby. After settling down, Sean went out for a walk and called Alistair to come out with a package.

"This package contains the items you dug up from that ruin site." Sean handed the package to Alistair, "You’d better check."

Alistair opened the package and saw that these were indeed the items he had entrusted Sean with at that time.

He was quite surprised.

After all, he often hung out in border cities and knew how troublesome it was for some items to go through customs. Both entry and exit checks were very strict.

Normally, antiques and gold and silver, like the ones in his hands, would definitely be confiscated if they didn’t have a clear origin and explanation.

Most people had to resort to smuggling, which was much more expensive and illegal.

Now that Sean brought them back so smoothly, Alistair couldn’t help but be amazed.

"Take a good look. These things are worth a lot." Sean reminded Alistair.

After carefully checking, Alistair sincerely said to Sean:

"Mr. Knight, thank you very much!"

Seeing Alistair confirm this, Sean didn’t say anything more and turned to leave.

They rested here for one night and prepared to leave early the next morning.

Then someone knocked on the door, and surprisingly, it was Alistair who came by.

He was holding two big bags and said with a smile after Sean opened the door:

"Boss, these are some local specialties from our area. I’ve learned a lot and made a fortune this trip thanks to you. I know you’re rich and don’t need anything, but please accept these specialties as a token of my gratitude."

He then opened the bags, which contained dried fruits, lavender essential oil, dried snow lotus flowers, and other local specialties.

Not only did he have something for Sean, but also for the other three people.

Sean felt that Alistair was really a nice guy, appreciating kindness and repaying it, so he was worth befriending.

Alistair also wanted to treat Sean and the others to a meal, but Sean refused. Although they hadn’t stayed in Kazakhstan for long, they had done quite a lot, and he just wanted to go home now.

"If you come here in the future, make sure to call me so I can show you proper hospitality," Alistair said.

After sending Alistair away, Sean took three bundles of money out of the spatial realm and said to Elijah Hastings and the others:

"We’ve gone through quite a lot this trip; although it wasn’t long, we gained quite a bit. Elijah, you’re the team leader, so you get 20,000 dollars; Lincoln Harrington and Douglas Cooper, you guys get 10,000 US dollars each.

I’m giving you guys a week off, go have some fun. Oh, and when you leave, take those things you dug up with you."

The three of them didn’t hesitate, took the money, and went to Sean’s room to collect their share of the items.

Elijah thought for a moment and said:

"Boss, if you have a channel to sell this stuff, please help me sell it. I don’t have a channel, and I don’t feel secure keeping these."

"Sure," Sean didn’t mind. He had a lot of US dollars in his spatial realm and needed to spend them anyway.

As for those gold ingots and the like, he had quite a few channels for selling them as well.

Seeing Elijah do this, Lincoln and Douglas couldn’t help but be tempted:

"Boss, please help me sell mine too."

"I’ll keep a gold ingot for myself, and sell the rest," Douglas said.

In the end, the three of them each kept a few gold ingots, with the rest sold through Sean, who exchanged them directly for US dollars, as if he had bought them all in advance.

Afterwards, Elijah and the others went home by plane, and Sean took the train back home.

Seeing Sean return, his family was delighted.

Although Sean hadn’t been away for long, they knew he had gone abroad. At present, everyone was concerned about the international situation and felt that everywhere except their domestic country was unsafe.

But they couldn’t dissuade Sean from what he was doing, as the matter of the totems had already made persuasion impossible.

So when Sean came back, the whole family was overjoyed.

Sean saw his grandfather’s hair turning black, his parents looking healthy, and his energetic brother, which made him very happy.

He took out a new batch of totems from his spatial realm, let his family touch them again, and then settled down at home for a few days before going to check on the villa.

The villa was still being renovated and needed more time, so he had no choice but to let the dinosaur fossils stay in his spatial realm for the time being.

Fortunately, after his spatial realm was upgraded, it became much larger and could easily accommodate more items.

Staying at home was so comfortable that Sean didn’t really want to go out again. Although he trusted Joanna Davis, he called and video-chatted with her every day, knowing that she was busy with exams, so he didn’t want to bother her by going over there.

One day, Sean received a call from a stranger.

"Mr. Knight, I want to buy a special-functioning golden statue from you; name your price!" The caller went straight to the point and stated his intentions.

"Who are you? I have no idea what you’re talking about," Sean was taken aback. He didn’t know where this person got the information from.

He had quite a few such gold statues, but he never thought about selling them, at least not openly.

If he quietly sold one or two pieces, that would be fine. But if he sold too many, wouldn’t that make him a scapegoat?

"Mr. Knight, my name is Arthur Turner. I have some connections in East Hualand. So, there’s no need to be nervous. It’s just a coincidence that I learned about your possession of these treasures. As long as you sell me one, I promise I won’t let you down!"
