Chapter 267: Chapter 229: The Mysterious Source of Danger!
Just as Elijah was about to shoot, something bizarre happened!
From behind the wolf, a huge mouth suddenly emerged from the stone wall, biting the wolf and dragging it inside!
The wolf didn’t even have time to let out a cry before it vanished!
Immediately after, the wind and sand filled the cave entrance in no time!
Elijah hurriedly crawled back into the tent, wiped his face, and quickly said to Sean:
"Boss! Move away! There’s a monster in the rocks!"
Monster?
Sean hurriedly moved away from the stone wall and looked in the direction Elijah pointed!
With Sky Eye activated, he saw a wolf being dragged into the mountain by something!
It really was there!
"Boss, I hadn’t even shot the wolf when something bit it and dragged it into the cave!"
Sean asked:
"Did you get a clear look at what it was?"
When he activated his Sky Eye, whatever it was had already dragged the wolf quite deep, so he didn’t get a good look.
"I just saw a huge mouth, full of teeth! It swallowed the wolf’s waist in one bite!"
Elijah had never seen anything like this before, and he was evidently frightened.
The light outside was getting darker, and cold wind and sand blew into the tent through the crevices. The temperature inside the tent quickly dropped.
Both Sean and Elijah were silent.
They faced a choice: leave now and face the windsand but avoid the mysterious creature’s attack, or stay here and hide from the windsand but beware of that tooth-filled mouth?
Elijah didn’t express an opinion; he planned to follow the boss.
"We’re staying here," Sean decided. "Seal up the edges of the tent, and let’s not get too close to the inner stone wall. I’ll keep watch tonight."
"No, we’ll keep watch together," Elijah smiled. "How could anyone sleep in this weather? Good thing you brought a lot of energy drinks, we can make it through!"
They were neither wolves nor in the windsand; they should be able to react to any attack as long as they were alert inside the tent.
Sean activated his Sky Eye from time to time, scanning the surroundings to avoid sudden attacks.
In fact, he hadn’t paid attention earlier and was busy dealing with things, assuming Elijah could handle a single wolf with a gun.
If vigilant, that little movement would never have escaped his sixth sense.
"Alright, let’s not be too nervous. Maybe that thing is like a python and will be full for days after eating the wolf. We’re safe for now,"
Seeing Elijah still nervous, Sean tried to ease his mind with a smile. "We can’t stop eating and drinking, who knows when this windsand will stop."
"I’ll tell them on the Walkie-Talkie." Elijah, still worried, took out the Walkie-Talkie, but when he turned it on, all he could hear was noise and couldn’t understand anything.
"Don’t bother contacting them, save the battery," Sean advised as he saw Elijah still trying. "The windsand is too strong. Even though our Walkie-Talkies are good quality, they can’t defy the laws of nature. Let’s wait until the weather clears up. Besides, there are more people on their side, so they shouldn’t have any problems."
Elijah could only agree.
Sean, seeing Elijah’s anxiety, decided to grill the mutton himself.
He chopped the prepared mutton into small pieces and marinated it with seasonings in a small bowl.
"If only we had onions," Sean lamented, feeling that something was missing.
Although wild mutton could be gamey, the Cumin and chili powder were enough to suppress it. The fatty mutton oozed oil as it cooked, filling the air with a rich aroma that distracted Elijah, who began helping out.
Outside, the windsand was strong, but the tent was firmly secured, and the crevices had been sealed.
Although the wind noises were frightening, the two were not worried, and they enjoyed themselves, eating and drinking.
Sean occasionally glanced around the tent and found no movement in the mountain.
Could it be that the creature was really satisfied with just eating the wolf and was not coming back?
After a few hours, the windsand noises outside lessened, and Elijah peeked out from a corner of the tent, noticing that the wind was still blowing but not as strong as before.
However, it was even darker outside.
"Is it nightfall?" Sean asked. "At this rate, it’ll definitely be clear Tomorrow Morning."
"Hmm," Elijah agreed, "once it gets bright Tomorrow, we’ll quickly head back and regroup with the others."
It was unsafe for the two of them to be alone in this unfamiliar environment.
Fortunately, both were energetic young men who had rarely spent time together like this, so they started chatting.
Sean learned that during Elijah’s last visit Home during the New Year, he had sent most of the Money he had earned in this period back to his parents in his homeland.
Elijah’s parents ran a factory and had experience, so they used Elijah’s money to start a new factory, hiring some of the previous workers.
Since Elijah had obtained a Green Card, he had become quite well-known locally. The news about the villain who had scammed him spread around, and many suspected it was related to Elijah.
Because of the previous incident, Elijah’s parents’ factory was now running smoothly. The Government provided good policies, and their finances had improved. They no longer needed Elijah’s money and were on the verge of making a profit.
Although some families had been devastated, the living must move on. This issue had also gradually subsided.
