Chapter 252: Chapter 220: There is indeed a conspiracy in this! _2

He had a faint feeling that this deal might fall through, but he tried his best to grasp every last possible opportunity.

Sean Knight arrived at the entrance of the water room, glanced around with a calm expression, but inside, he was ecstatic!

There were seven or eight buckets on the floor of the water room, clearly meant for holding water.

The water faucet was in the corner of the room, in a cement and brick-built pond one meter high. A pipe projected out from the pond at a downward angle, about 30 centimeters from the ground. Water was collected in the buckets from that pipe.

After checking everything out, Sean walked to Louis’s office, which he had seen earlier.

"Alright, let’s talk about our cooperation," Sean unceremoniously sat down on the sofa, speaking to Louis as if he were the boss.

"Really? That’s great!" Louis thought that the deal was off, and he was surprised when it suddenly took a positive turn!

"I plan to rent this place for two days and give you a deposit of five thousand US dollars first, but you need to give me the key. When our film crew enters, we don’t want any other people disturbing us."

"Five thousand US dollars?" Louis weighed it up. Two days for five thousand US dollars was a very good deal!

Usually, even if it took half a month, he wouldn’t make five thousand US dollars!

The main concern was the fact that he would not be able to keep tabs on everyone, and he was somewhat uneasy about this.

However, when he thought about his repair workshop and the old tools that together were not worth five thousand US dollars, he decided this deal was worth it!

"Deal!"

Louis promptly nodded in agreement.

Sean stood up and said:

"Tomorrow morning, you can notify your staff not to come. We’ll bring the money and you’ll give me the key. Then you can leave."

"Alright."

As Louis escorted him to the door, Sean casually asked:

"This place is pretty remote; we almost couldn’t find it. By the way, where does this road lead?"

Louis gave him the name of a street, and Sean slowly nodded his head without saying anything more.

But Louis himself complained:

"It’s so unlucky! The people who drew the maps didn’t include this road. I don’t know who tampered with the satellite map, and since they’re talking about demolishing this area, not many people know about it. This has really hurt my repair business..."

No wonder!

However, this had nothing to do with Sean. He simply nodded and left.

Returning to the car, Lincoln said:

"Aside from chasing off a few children who tried to approach the car and cause trouble, there haven’t been any other incidents."

"Alright." Sean started the car and drove off, then told Elijah, "You guys go rent some cameras and props, and prepare some empty boxes. We’ll take them in at the time."

Since they’ve already mentioned making a movie, they might as well do it properly.

If Joanna didn’t have to attend school, Sean would even bring her along, as a biker girl would easily attract viewers and make Louis believe him more.

Elijah dropped Sean off at the villa before driving away to rent the props.

Sean reviewed the entire plan and found no issues, so he continued reading.

His phone rang, and Sean looked at it, somewhat surprised.

The call was from Heine Victor, the Jewish man searching for the wealth plundered by the former German army and hunting down escaped military officers.

Sean answered the call, saying:

"Mr. Heine, hello."

"Mr. Sean Knight, congratulations, you are now New York’s most valuable treasure hunter for collaboration!"

Heine’s voice was sincere, but Sean didn’t believe him at all.

"Really?" Sean responded disingenuously, "I can’t believe it, how is it possible? After all, I’ve only been in this field for half a year..."

"Of course it’s true." Heine said with a smile, "It’s because you have created one miracle after another in such a short time, finding treasures that veteran treasure hunters have searched for years without success that earned you this title."

Sean knew this wasn’t genuine and, instead, was a setup for what Heine would say next.

"I don’t think I’m qualified." Sean said this very sincerely, because without Sky Eye, his abilities would indeed be limited.

"No, no, Sean, there’s no need to be modest. Here, on this land, if you’re modest, people will think you’re arrogant."

Sean gave a non-committal chuckle.

"By the way, Mr. Sean Knight, there’s something I wanted to talk to you about."

"Go ahead." Sean was worried it would be about Brad’s case.

After all, there was valuable information inside that notebook.

Sean had hesitated to take action precisely because he was afraid that Heine and David were watching him closely.

Now it seemed that his concern was not unfounded.

"Someone has come across a batch of Chinese ancient books. I heard that you collect these items and they hope to contact you through me to sell them to you."

"Chinese ancient books?" Sean Knight was somewhat puzzled. He had acquired Chinese ancient books from Hans before, but he didn’t show a strong intention for it.

How did Heine know about this?

Logically speaking, Heine, the Jew, and Hans of German descent, shouldn’t have a connection, right?

"What kind of books are they, do you have a list? Or something for appraisal?"

Sean felt that if he had to collect them, he might as well, acquiring domestic antiques from abroad was not something Sean minded doing.

Of course, he couldn’t let others make a fool of him either.

"If you’re interested, we can schedule a time for a detailed discussion."

"In that case... the day after tomorrow." Sean thought for a moment and said, "I’m available then."

"Alright, I’ll call you when the time comes."

After hanging up the phone, Sean felt that this matter might not be that simple.

Why would Heine be so kind as to introduce ancient books to him for sale?

Sean couldn’t figure it out, but he thought it was better to be careful anyway.

Early the next day, Elijah Hastings and the others came to pick up Sean and his group in cars.

By this time, the three of them had already put on work clothes, wore hats, carried toolboxes, with Lincoln Harrington holding a video camera, looking quite professional.

An SUV, a pickup truck with boxes and other things drove toward Louis Anna’s repair factory.

When they arrived at the place, they saw Louis waiting outside the entrance.

Seeing the two cars coming and Sean waving to him from the car window, he was immediately excited.

The two cars drove into the working area, Sean got out and handed a check to Louis:

"The money is yours, but this place is mine for now. We’ll inspect and set up the place today, shoot tomorrow, and you can come back the day after."

After checking the check, Louis happily handed the keys to Sean and left.

"Lock the door." Sean ordered.

Elijah Hastings and the others immediately locked the front gate.

"It seems that Louis really values this place. It’s been cleaned up quite nicely."

The scattered tools and parts had been put in boxes, and the oil stains on the ground had been cleaned up.

Even some of the graffiti on the cover had been wiped off.

"You guys take out some of the tools inside and scatter them around."

Sean looked unsatisfied, "And some oil or something, pour it on the ground."

Although Elijah and the others didn’t understand why Sean wanted to do this, they didn’t ask and just did it.

While they were busy, Sean entered the water room through a small door.

He took out a hammer and chisel from the spatial realm and began digging into the water pool inside the water room.

After knocking for a while, he chiseled off a brick.

As the three of them finished "arranging" the "scene" outside, Douglas Cooper stood up and walked towards the water room, but Elijah Hastings stopped him:

"Don’t go in, the boss didn’t call."

Douglas Cooper was a little confused:

"We’re done here, aren’t we? Aren’t we going to help?"

"If he needed it, the boss would have called." Elijah pointed to the tools and said, "If you think there’s nothing to do, just move this stuff to another location."

"I’m not doing it!" Douglas Cooper wasn’t a fool and understood Elijah’s meaning, so he stopped trying to go inside.

Sean removed another brick, looked inside, and found the hollow space.

Inside was a bag identical to the previous two travel bags.

There’s even more stuff in here!

Sean estimated that there were at least a hundred gold bars in there!

However, even added together, the number didn’t add up.

There were a few pieces of paper in the bag, but Sean didn’t look at them. He only moved some of the gold bars to the spatial realm and left only a dozen in the bag.

He put the bag aside, took out the premixed cement from the spatial realm, and reattached the two bricks.

When it felt no different from before, Sean put away the hammer, chisel, and leftover cement, cleaned up the place, picked up the bag, and walked out.

Then he said to Elijah and the others:

"Alright, pack up, let’s go!"

The reason he told Louis three days was, of course, to confuse him.

But one hour was enough!

Sean couldn’t wait to go back and study the few pieces of paper in the bag!
