Chapter 214: Chapter 201: They’re All Ruthless! _2
"I don’t really care about that. I just didn’t expect this treasure hunt to be so dangerous. I originally planned to make some money and then bring my family back to my country..."
Sean Knight suddenly realized that the girl was Ukrainian, and there was a war going on there.
It seemed that when they first met, she wasn’t very friendly to him. Now she didn’t seem so cold?
"Mr. Knight, you are not like the people from your country described on the internet. I used to get so angry when I saw such rumors, we Ukrainian women are not commodities, and we love our country too..."
Sean Knight immediately understood what she was talking about.
He comforted Mila:
"That’s just the words of a very small number of selfish and despicable people. To be honest, if a beautiful Ukrainian girl really went to such people, they wouldn’t dare do anything and would only vent their frustration on the internet.
Most people in China also hope for peace. Those people are a tiny minority, and all this has been blown out of proportion by some people on your side!"
After chatting for a few sentences, Sean Knight gradually realized what was happening.
Mila had not expected to encounter such dangerous moments in the jungle. Her emotions were still unsettled, so she found Sean Knight to chat, which served both to clear up misunderstandings and ease her pent-up fear.
After chatting for a while, Hans called Mila back. Mila smiled at Sean Knight and left. Sean Knight, however, began to think that this treasure hunt might have been a little too simple.
Although there was some danger with Brown, that was after all just targeted at Brown’s people, which was easier to guard against.
This time, in a strange jungle, danger might be encountered anywhere. It wasn’t just competitors, but various native creatures that regarded them as prey.
Fortunately, Hans’s advance payment for this mission was very good, otherwise, Sean would have been considering heading back home.
Thinking about the two volumes of the "Yongle Encyclopedia", Sean Knight’s mind was once again filled with hope.
After returning, find Melvin Richardson to introduce a specialist who can repair ancient paintings and calligraphy, and then repair those two volumes of the "Yongle Encyclopedia".
As for whether Sean would ultimately keep the two national treasure level items or rent them out like the Acupuncture Bronze Figure, that would be decided later.
While he was daydreaming, on the man-eating flowers side, Lincoln Harrington also noticed the situation and whispered to Jason:
"Someone’s coming!"
The others also heard the suppressed screams from the man-eating flowers’ territory.
Obviously, someone had been caught!
Sean Knight heard the sound and stood up. He approached the tree and used his Sky Eye to look over. Sure enough, he saw Doncaster Foster and his party rushing towards them through the man-eating flowers’ territory.
Behind them, two mercenaries had already been bitten by the man-eating flowers, and seven or eight elongated flowers were spraying corrosive venom while biting with their serrated petals.
The two warriors were soon motionless, left to be slowly devoured by the man-eating flowers.
Doncaster and the woman were protected in the middle, and the woman couldn’t help but scream in fear.
Although Doncaster kept telling her to shut up, how could a woman like her calm down in such a situation?
Doncaster cursed the cunning man-eating flowers, which made no sound at the beginning, waiting until they had gone far into the territory before suddenly springing to life and launching a frenzied attack!
Doncaster had guessed that this might be a trap set by Hans, but he had no time to worry about that, so his priority was to escape the man-eating flowers’ territory!
Doncaster’s hired men kept firing ahead, and when they ran out of bullets, they drew their machetes to attack the man-eating flowers.
However, they lacked the tacit cooperation of Elijah and Lincoln, and Sean’s Sky Eye couldn’t see the man-eating flowers’ weak points. If it wasn’t for them following the trail of Sean through the man-eating flowers, they would have been devoured by now!
Even so, most of these mercenaries were injured, and a few of them were still wearing torn-off man-eating flower petals, which looked quite ridiculous.
With their firepower, quite a few of the man-eating flowers in front were broken by bullets and no longer posed a threat. However, there were many man-eating flowers in their territory, and their stems could stretch, almost closing the corridor. It was still difficult for these people to rush forward.
About ten minutes later, Doncaster’s men reached the edge of the man-eating flowers’ territory, and Doncaster saw the opportunity, shouting loudly:
"Hurry, pick up the pace! We’re almost out!"
At that moment, two more mercenaries were left behind in the man-eating flowers’ territory, leaving only six in Doncaster’s party. (There should have been one who was already gone at the Poisonous Snake.)
Jason and the others had already aimed their guns, waiting for the mercenaries and Doncaster’s party to rush out of the man-eating flowers’ territory. When their vigilance was at its lowest, Jason suddenly shouted:
"Fire!"
Several people aimed at their targets and opened fire!
"Bang, bang, bang, bang!"
Several mercenaries fell to the ground instantly, and the last one was immediately dragged away by the man-eating flowers to be devoured.
Doncaster Foster and the woman had also been shot, but not in any critical areas.
Doncaster, clutching his wound, shouted:
"Don’t shoot! Don’t shoot! I surrender! Mr. Hunter, I beg for your mercy!"
Although Hans could hear him, he pretended not to.
Jason and the others also understood Hans’ intention, and shot Doncaster and the woman again.
After they finished executing them, they went up one by one to confiscate their belongings.
Jason directly aimed at a bag hanging on the waist of a mercenary by Doncaster’s side.
He thought this should be the golden sand that Doncaster’s group had exchanged for at the tribe.
Lincoln Harrington saw that Jason had taken it first, and was somewhat disappointed; however, without further consideration, he went to another mercenary, took his backpack and gun, then took the backpack and gun from yet another mercenary, and went back to Sean Knight without opening them.
It was a submachine gun in his hand before, but now it’s an automatic rifle. Though they weren’t necessarily useful in the jungle, it was comforting to have more firepower.
Jason happily opened the bag, only to have his smile freeze on his face!
The bag was full of sulfur and other items!
Jason quickly understood—it was probably used by the mercenaries to repel snakes and insects. He didn’t know where they had learned this technique.
He immediately checked the other people’s bags but couldn’t find any golden sand.
Where had the golden sand gone?
Elijah Hastings and Lincoln Harrington opened the mercenaries’ backpacks, took out what they could use, and put it in their own backpacks.
Then Elijah took a heavy bag out of one of them.
He opened it, laughed, and handed it to Sean Knight:
"Boss, it’s a windfall!"
Sean glanced at it and saw that it was golden sand, leaving him speechless.
Doncaster and his group had gone through all this trouble for nothing, while his own people were benefiting.
"As for Lincoln’s spoils, deal with them yourselves."
Inside Sean’s spatial realm, he still had plenty of gold statues to deal with, so he didn’t need this golden sand.
Elijah was not surprised. After all, every time they went treasure hunting together, Sean would find a lot of gold products.
Right now, Elijah also had a few gold coins given to him by Sean.
Lincoln, however, was shocked.
Under normal circumstances, by his understanding, he was a subordinate hired by Sean. Naturally, the spoils belonged to the boss as well.
But to his surprise, Sean was not interested in the golden sand and directly let them dispose of it themselves.
On this point alone, Lincoln’s esteem for Sean rose a notch.
This boss was worth following!
Jason had searched everywhere without finding any golden sand. Then he thought of the backpack that Lincoln had taken.
When he came over, he discovered that they’d already taken out the golden sand, and a bitter feeling rose within him.
Now, getting the golden sand back from Elijah and Lincoln was impossible.
Fortunately, Doncaster and his people’s backpacks also contained some cash, which made up for the loss to some extent.
But thinking about those several kilograms of golden sand, it was hard to swallow the bitter pill!
Doncaster also carried a black handbag with several marked maps inside.
Hans Hunter took a look and compared it to his own map. He found that some areas on the map were overlapping.
Obviously, Doncaster wasn’t just following Hans; he’d done his homework beforehand!
Hans suddenly felt relieved: how lucky he was to have killed this group!
He immediately called for Sean Knight and began discussing their next course of action.
