Chapter 205: Chapter 197: There Really Are Good Items!_2

"Five items?" Sean Knight stepped forward and grabbed a rusty, shapeless iron sword, "With things like this, let alone five items, would ten items even make up 10% of the treasure’s share?"

The iron sword had already rusted into a lump of rust, and Hans could only awkwardly smile.

He was indeed a collector, but not the kind who dealt with firsthand relics.

By the time items reached his possession, they were usually appraised and processed, like those in the storage room earlier.

As for the rusty lump in Sean’s hand, it was clearly an ancient artifact, but before cleaning, Hans wouldn’t know its worth or if it was worn by a celebrity, if there were any inscriptions on it, and if there was any heritage behind it.

"These items were given to me by a trading partner who went bankrupt because of insufficient funds. Some items in this collection were acquired by him, while others were sold to him by others.

Mr. Knight, I’ll be honest with you, I’m not sure of the value of these items. I don’t even think they’re worth much.

So, I suggest you’d better choose a few items from the storage room I mentioned earlier. I’ll make the decision, and you can pick three items. How about that?"

Upon hearing Hans’ words, Sean immediately understood.

He wasn’t sure if Mr. Hans was genuinely sincere, or if he genuinely wanted Sean to help him with the treasure hunt, or if he was just down to the last leg and didn’t care about these items anymore.

Sean thought for a moment and said:

"I’ll take everything here. As for the treasure hunt, I’ll do my best. I only want 30% of the finds. How about that?"

Hans didn’t expect Sean to make such a proposal!

He thought about Sean’s background, then shook his head.

Initially, he thought Sean must have seen that there were valuable items here.

But Sean’s background and experiences, he had never dealt with archaeology or collecting.

Even if he made some money from auctioning containers at the port and later found several treasures on treasure hunts.

These couldn’t prove that he understood how to appraise cultural relics.

So, was he genuinely trying to help or just being a gambler?

However, no matter what, after calculating in his heart, Hans realized that this offer was far beyond his expectations!

In Hans’s view, randomly picking two items from the neighboring collection room held more value than all the items here!

Moreover, when he had pulled these items from his trading partner, he intended to minimize the loss.

His friend had valued these items at one million US dollars.

Even so, Hans knew that his friend had inflated the price.

So these items could be exchanged for 20% of the treasure?

What a great deal!

Hans looked at Sean again and saw the fire burning in his eyes; he was a gambler!

"Deal!" Hans said abruptly, "In that case, shall we sign an agreement?"

"As you wish," Sean’s response was somewhat reluctant, but the more it came to this, the calmer he had to be!

So Sean led the way out of the room without any lingering attachments, eliminating any remaining doubts in Hans’s mind.

The agreement template was prepared in advance, and they simply modified the terms, printed two copies, and Sean signed after reading it carefully.

Hans also signed and handed a copy to Sean, saying:

"Mr. Knight, it’s a pleasure to work together!"

"A pleasure!"

Hans put away the contract and said to Sean:

"Now that we’re settled, let me introduce you to a teammate."

He turned to the beautiful girl in camouflage and said:

"Mila, come here."

The girl got up and walked over.

At least 5’9" tall, with a model figure and a cold, stern face, she was very beautiful.

"This is Mila, the translator and bodyguard I hired."

Hans introduced Mila, then said to her:

"This is Sean Knight, the treasure hunting rising star from China. After we set off, we will all be teammates, so you guys should get familiar."

Sean nodded to Mila with a smile:

"Hello."

Mila reluctantly nodded in acknowledgment, then turned and left.

Hans was a bit embarrassed and whispered in explanation:

"Because of the current international situation, she is concerned about your China... you know."

Sean Knight suddenly understood.

I see, I see.

"Besides you, me, and her, are there anyone else?" Sean asked.

"I have hired a team of mercenaries to protect us," Hans said, "You know, there are primitive tribes in there, and all sorts of potential, or unpredictable dangers, so we have to be careful."

"These two friends of mine will also come with me." Sean pointed to Elijah and Lincoln.

Hans’ expression turned difficult.

Sean added:

"I will take care of their expenses."

Hans’ face looked better now.

Sean explained:

"It’s not that I want to meddle; it’s just that I’ve only been here for half a year and have already experienced several assassinations and attacks, so I think safety is more important."

With that explanation, Hans understood.

Since he didn’t have to pay any extra fees, he didn’t say anything more.

As Hans had no more issues, Sean said to Elijah and Lincoln:

"Come on, let’s pack my stuff."

Hans found some empty boxes, Sean went into the storage room to get them—calling it a storage room was more like a cluttered room—then Elijah and Lincoln began to pack everything up.

Each item was wrapped carefully in foam and placed in the boxes gently.

Hans couldn’t help but remind them:

"These items are basically ordinary, not all that valuable, you don’t have to be so careful."

However, Elijah and Lincoln were clearly not going to listen to Hans; they continued to arrange the items with care.

This was the difference between elites and ordinary people.

They could almost instantly choose the best place to put the items they picked up, regardless of size or shape, making it seemingly less difficult than it should be.

Even when everything was packed up, Sean noticed that everything fit very well, which was somewhat magical!

Upon seeing Sean’s confusion, Elijah chuckled:

"In the army, everything has to be standardized and neat, it’s a habit."

Oh, no wonder!

Next, they moved the items downstairs. Hans offered to help, but Sean smiled and said:

"No need." The three of them carried all eight boxes out together, placed them individually in the elevator, said goodbye to Hans, and left the mansion.

When they arrived at the underground garage, Elijah couldn’t help but ask a question:

"Boss, is there something good inside these boxes?"

"Yes." Sean’s excitement, which had been suppressed for so long, finally erupted!

Elijah didn’t continue asking, but seeing Sean’s excited expression, he knew that the things inside were definitely extraordinary!

Seven of the boxes were instructed by Sean to be placed in the trunk of the large SUV, while Sean carefully held a small box and sat in the back seat, leaving the driving to Elijah.

Lincoln sat in the passenger seat, looking puzzled at Elijah.

As Sean carefully opened the box again in the back seat and took out the stuff inside, he said:

"No need to think about it, even if it’s not a national treasure, it’s close!"

Elijah whispered to Lincoln:

"You know? Last time, the boss got a national treasure, which he exchanged for thirty percent of the treasure hunting revenue! The kind of thing that would make the boss give up that much profit must be around that level!"

Lincoln apparently heard Sean say 30% earlier. Hans joked about 50% becoming 30% and how Sean might regret it.

How much could two percent be worth?

Elijah saw Lincoln’s confusion and whispered while driving:

"You know? Last time a foreign billionaire invited the boss to come out and the three percent of the treasure was worth over ten million US dollars."

Afterward, Elijah felt he might have said too much, so he stopped talking. Lincoln asked a question without getting a response, and didn’t ask any more.

Sean no longer cared about the two people in the front.

He opened the small box and saw the items sloppily wrapped inside. Carefully, he unwrapped the outer layer of cloth to reveal the peeling cover underneath - this was a booklet.

But in Sean’s mind, this was a national treasure-level booklet!
