Chapter 200: Chapter 195: Heine’s Second Visit and an Invitation to a Treasure Hunt

Listening to Joanna’s jealous voice on the phone asking whether Sean had gone to New York University and whether he had flirted with a blonde beauty, Sean couldn’t help but laugh.

Hearing Sean’s laughter, Joanna became a bit angry:

"Sean, I hope we can be honest with each other. I’m seriously asking you these questions!"

Sean quickly apologized:

"I’m sorry, dear. I just laughed because I detected some jealousy in your tone, and it made me happy that you care so much about me.

Okay, let me explain now."

Sean recounted his trip to find someone to sell the letter’s information yesterday, specifically mentioning that he and Elijah had gone together and, not knowing where Professor Phillips lived, had "casually" asked someone, only to have the situation misunderstood.

Also, he didn’t contact Joanna because he thought she was at school, and since he himself had been a student before, he didn’t think it was right to bother her studies, so he held off reaching out to her.

After listening to Sean’s detailed explanation, Joanna’s little bit of anger completely vanished.

"How about I come pick you up now?" Sean asked, "We can go shopping and watch a movie to make up for my mistake yesterday."

Joanna hesitated a bit.

Sean was definitely sincere in not wanting to disturb her studies.

But why did she want to go so much?

Feeling Joanna’s hesitation, Sean quickly made a decision:

"You go freshen up, and I’ll wait for you at the school entrance."

Sean picked up Joanna and took her to the cinema.

Although it was a popcorn-filled comedy movie, the two were primarily focused on enjoying the romantic atmosphere of the couple’s theater.

By the time they left the cinema, Joanna felt as if she had gone through a long journey, completely exhausted, barely able to move forward while leaning on Sean’s arm.

However, her flushed face, like a ripe honey peach, made Sean unable to resist giving her a few kisses.

Then, Sean took Joanna to an amusement park.

Exhausted, Joanna followed Sean back to the villa, watching him prepare a loving dinner for her in the kitchen, feeling a sudden warmth in her heart.

In such a blissful life, what more could she ask for?

So that night, Joanna took the initiative, and Sean enjoyed it thoroughly.

The next day, after seeing Joanna off, Sean originally planned to visit the freight yard but received a phone call from Heine Victor instead.

Seeing the phone number, Sean felt apprehensive, as Heine was clearly more difficult to deal with than David.

Why was Heine calling now?

Answering the phone, Sean greeted him with a smile:

"Hi! Mr. Victor, how are you?"

"Hello, Mr. Knight!" Heine’s attitude was good, "I apologize for bothering you..."

"No bother at all! You’re a valuable customer of mine. Just tell me what you need." Sean appeared generous, polite, and enthusiastic.

Heine didn’t expect Sean to be so amicable, and after a short pause, he said:

"Since Mr. Knight is so enthusiastic, let me get straight to the point. The information I purchased from you last time didn’t contain what we were looking for, so I need to trouble you once more..."

"It doesn’t?" Sean feigned an astonished expression, "But I got those documents from the secret chamber in the mountain mine. Of course, there were some paper records there as well, but I didn’t think they were of any use at the time, so I didn’t take all of them..."

Heine had put the call on speakerphone, and David, who was listening nearby, wanted to curse Sean angrily but was stopped by Heine, who said:

"Mr. Knight, I think we need a quiet place to discuss this matter in detail. What do you think..."

"I’ll find a coffee house. I’ll send you the location in a bit." Sean didn’t dare take the two men back to his villa, nor did he intend to go to their place.

A public place would be best.

"Alright, see you at the coffee house in half an hour."

Heine responded politely and then hung up the phone.

"That bastard!" David finally swore.

"David, if you’re going to participate in this activity with that attitude, I’ll stop sponsoring you!"

David’s face showed defiance, but Heine knew how he felt and softened his tone as he continued:

"There’s no evidence yet that this Chinese man is hiding those documents, so you can’t act based on suspicion.

Moreover, this Chinese man is an extremely skilled treasure hunter, and we might need his help!"

After hearing this, although David was still unconvinced, he remained silent.

Heine again spoke:

"We’ve been here for quite some time, but our mission’s progress hasn’t been much and we’ve even fallen behind others! So, we need efficiency and can’t afford to waste time on personal feelings!"

Seeing that David’s emotions had stabilized, Heine took him to the coffee house.

Sean and Elijah arrived first, finding a small private room.

When Heine arrived, he apologized to Sean:

"Mr. Knight, I’m sorry we’re late."

"It’s okay, we live close by." Sean, who had the home-field advantage, said with a smile, "Please, have a seat."

He sensed Heine’s good intentions and David’s suppressed emotions.

After the waiter brought the coffee and left, closing the door, Sean said:

"Mr. Victor, if there’s anything you need, just tell me. If it’s within my power, I’ll do my best."

The implication was that the price was negotiable.

Heine said:

"We’ve carefully studied the information you provided, Mr. Knight, but it’s incomplete and not what we need. So, we hope you can tell us in detail how you came across this information. It would be best if you could tell us how you discovered these clues—of course, we will provide an appropriate reward."
