Chapter 195: Chapter 192: We Can’t Let Zhu Go Treasure Hunting Anymore!_2

He looked at Sean Knight standing still and asked:

"Mr. Knight, have you found something?"

Sean didn’t answer, but instead asked:

"Can anything found in this estate be taken away?"

"Yes." George Thomas said with a proud yet reserved tone:

"At first, we had to persuade the master of the estate to open it up for a treasure hunt competition, which was quite a hassle.

Blackstone Manor is considered one of the more famous estates in New York’s treasure hunting world. There have always been rumors of hidden treasure here, even more famous than the one where I used to live.

However, since the treasure has never been found, some people think the rumors are false.

The master of Blackstone is a wealthy merchant who doesn’t really care about the treasure, and is very friendly toward the organization of treasure hunters.

One of our Treasure Hunters had helped him in a significant way, so when we persuaded him to use Blackstone Manor for the treasure hunt competition, he agreed."

George’s meaning was clear: the success of this treasure hunt competition was a result of the efforts of these old fellows.

"At that time, the master of Blackstone Manor also said that if the treasure was really found, it would only need to be named the ’Blackstone Treasure.’ Whoever found it, owned it."

After explaining, George suddenly realized:

"Mr. Knight, have you found the treasure?"

Sean laughed and said:

"It’s just a conjecture."

He turned around and pointed to the farthest part of the estate, where there was a big tree.

Between this big tree and Sean, there was another big tree.

"You see, my current position should be at the extension point of those two big trees." Sean pointed at his feet:

"And if you calculate the distance, the distance between the middle tree and me and the distance between the middle tree and the far tree should be equal."

What kind of reason was this?

Seeing that Elijah Hastings and George did not take this seriously, Sean laughed, turned back, and continued:

"You see, the distance from me to the main hall of the estate should be the same as the distance from me to that middle tree."

George and Elijah hadn’t thought about this and hadn’t noticed it either.

Upon observation, they found that it should be correct!

Now, both George and Elijah’s expressions had changed slightly!

If Sean’s previous words were unproven conjectures, then the addition of the small building made this conjecture somewhat credible!

Afterall, those two trees certainly seemed to have a history of several hundred years.

Sean’s second statement was not only about distance - from their point of view, the main hall, the position where Sean stood, and the two big trees were exactly in a straight line!

Moreover, the middle tree and the point where Sean stood basically divided this line segment into three equal parts!

This should not be a coincidence!

Sean felt a hint of pride and satisfaction in his heart!

This spot was not found using Sky Eye.

It was a conclusion drawn through analysis and observation after entering the estate.

Then, after scanning with the Sky Eye, this point was confirmed!

There was indeed something buried underneath!

George looked at Sean and Elijah holding metal detectors but not using them, and curiously asked:

"Have you already detected it? What’s down there?"

Elijah shook his head and said:

"We couldn’t detect anything."

"You couldn’t detect it?" Even though George was old, he was not an antique and still knew that metal detectors were very powerful.

It couldn’t be detected like this?

Sean said:

"My guess is that it’s buried too deep, so it can’t be detected."

He then glanced toward the main hall, then toward the big tree, and moved to a position he felt was more suitable, and said:

"If there are no problems, I am going to dig. Mr. George, I don’t want to find something only for it to be confiscated in the end."

"Don’t worry!" George joked, "If that happens, I’ll compensate you for your losses!"

However, truth be told, he really didn’t think Sean would find anything. If the metal detectors couldn’t find the treasure, how could they dig it up?

Are you kidding me?

Sean put his backpack and metal detector aside, took a folding shovel out of his backpack, opened it, and began to dig with Elijah.

Elijah, a former Special Forces Soldier, was skilled at excavation, and the farmland’s soft soil made it easy for him to quickly dig a large hole.

Sean Knight had strong physical strength, and while his technique might not have been as polished as Elijah’s, he made up for it with brute force. He quickly grasped the skills needed to dig, not falling behind in speed at all!

Soon, two piles of soil appeared on the ground, and both Sean and Elijah gradually lowered themselves, eventually reaching a Location in the pit where they were no longer visible from above.

Both men worked in sync while digging, and when they reached nearly two meters deep, they punched through the layer of soil that separated them, forming a large hollow space.

Moreover, both men almost simultaneously considered the issue of the stairs, so they dug steps at the edge of the pit for ease of moving up and down.

George Thomas, standing at the edge of the pit, was somewhat shocked!

How impressive were these two young Chinese men’s physical prowess!

At a depth of two meters, it was no longer convenient to throw soil upwards anymore.

However, the two men seemed unfazed!

Witnessing the scene, other treasure hunters in the nearby area gathered around.

Some people inquired about what was happening while others speculated:

"Maybe they think there’s treasure down there, so they’re digging here?"

"So far, they haven’t found anything. Could there really be treasure?"

"These two must be messing around!" someone said disdainfully. "Who would bury something so deep? It would be inconvenient to dig up..."

At this moment, Sean and Elijah stopped digging and climbed up the steps.

"How did it go? Did you find anything?"

"I knew they were just messing around!"

"Nevertheless, these two really are in great shape!"

"Haven’t you noticed that there isn’t the slightest hint of disappointment on their faces? Could there be a turnaround?"

"Impossible!" someone countered. "It’s already so deep, and from the looks of it, they’re about to dig up water. What kind of turnaround could there be?"

George approached the two to ask, "Did you find anything? Or... were you wrong?"

"We’re coming up to rest for a bit, drink some water," Sean said, ignoring the surrounding people. He continued while drinking water, "We found something. We should have results later."

Originally, the onlookers were disappointed to see Sean and Elijah come up empty-handed and appeared to be dispersing.

Now, hearing Sean’s words, some were startled, others stunned, but most people stayed to observe.

Then George asked the question that everyone wanted to know:

"What did you discover?"

Sean drank some water and rested for a moment before walking back into the deep pit, feeling around the pit wall and saying, "Look here, at this layer of soil."

Everyone peered down but couldn’t see anything of significance.

Sean then pointed in another direction and said, "Now look at this layer of soil here; it’s clearly different from the earlier one. Therefore, the soil here has been disturbed.

At a depth of one and a half meters, the soil layers below are basically the same, so..."

Sean didn’t finish his sentence, but everyone understood what he meant.

"How did I overlook the issue of the soil layers?" someone exclaimed.

"Damn, I didn’t think of that either! But I saw it clearly; how could I not have been aware?!"

Elijah chuckled.

Anyone from China who had ever watched the "Exploration·Discovery" column or buried tomb-related literature/films would understand that different soil layers could indicate something of interest.

This was simply a cultural difference.

After resting for a while, the two men resumed digging.

George encountered a familiar face, who, seeing the large crowd gathered, came over to see the commotion. George then relayed Sean’s analysis, which the person found reasonable.

Those in the vicinity who overheard the conversation had varied opinions.

Some felt Sean’s explanation made sense, and there could indeed be a treasure hidden below.

On the other hand, some thought Sean was grasping at straws since they’d already dug so deep without finding anything, and water had started to seep through. These individuals believed that nothing would come from it.

In any case, Elijah continued to dig tirelessly.

As long as Sean was sure there was something there, they would keep digging.

At that moment, suddenly, someone cried out!

It turned out that Sean had finally unearthed something!

However, what he had found was a human skeleton!

The onlookers’ faces all changed at the sight!
