Chapter 187: Chapter 186: Returning to New York Harbor
After staying at home for some time, although the food and lodging were not as fine as in New York, Sean didn’t really feel like going back.
If it wasn’t for the phone call from Jason, Sean would have planned to stay longer.
He had been considering buying a villa in the provincial city, and then taking his family on a world tour.
However, Jason’s phone call brought him back to reality.
There were some little black guys following him.
And his parents had already planned to move back to the village, preparing to farm vegetable fields and catch piglets.
Listening to his grandfather, father, and brother talking about what vegetables to plant, where to catch piglets, where to buy corn for pigs and chickens to eat, and whose pigs in the village were fed with feed had less fragrant meat...
Sean felt that he suddenly became an outsider.
Although he had only been away from home for less than half a year, after experiencing so much, he suddenly felt that he couldn’t fit in.
It seemed that he had become a person of two different worlds.
With a sigh, Sean decided to go back to New York.
There were his usual treasure hunts and adventurous life.
When his father, Mark Knight, learned that Sean was going to America, he was surprised.
"You... can’t you sell those things there and stay in domestic? I heard that the security there is not good, and there are shootings and stuff."
Grandfather Ralph Knight had the same idea:
"What are you going to do there? You can’t even get good food to eat! Isn’t it good to stay at home? You’re not asked to farm and you don’t get tired, this life is so good!"
Grandfather had suffered hardships. In his opinion, the present days were unimaginable in the past.
Usually chatting with the old men in the village, they also spoke contentedly, thinking that the complaints of the young people were really unjustifiable. With such good days, what is there to complain about?
Sean didn’t explain that much, and just said:
"There are still a lot of businesses over there, even if I come back home, I have to wait until those businesses are dealt with."
"Alright, just be careful then." Mark Knight had to agree.
Sean didn’t tell them about his adventurous experiences there, just picked some interesting ones to talk about.
So the family still thought that Sean had a relatively peaceful time there, just receiving an inheritance and dealing with some businesses and such.
If they really knew about the things Sean encountered there, they would never let him go back.
What about business? Go to hell, which is more important than a person!
But Sean didn’t see it that way.
After experiencing the excitement of the outside world, how could he possibly stay in this small world and farm?
Seeing that Sean had decided, and the head of the family agreed, his mother had to make delicious food as a farewell to Sean.
Farewell dumplings and welcome noodles, after eating a meal of leek dumplings, Sean and Elijah went to New York again.
Arriving at the villa, Kathy was instructing the maid to clean the room. Seeing Sean, there was a hint of surprise in her eyes.
"Mr. Knight is back, I’ll have someone prepare lunch right away." Kathy hadn’t thought that Sean might stay at his hometown and not come back.
Although the probability was relatively small, after all, Sean had relatively more businesses in New York, which ordinary people couldn’t give up.
But in Kathy’s eyes, both employers were not ordinary people.
Now that Sean is back, she felt relieved.
After lunch, Sean and Elijah went to the freight yard together.
When Jason saw Sean coming, he was very excited and ordered:
"Go call Mark and Bondi over!"
Then he quickly ran to Sean and said with a smile:
"Boss, you’re finally back!"
Sean could feel that Jason was genuinely happy about his return.
"How is the freight yard?" Sean asked.
"Things are going well on Bondi’s side, always making money, and the freight yard is basically full. Mark took over half a month ago and is quite familiar with it now, a lot of containers coming in, but it’s not full yet, he’s still adapting." Jason scratched his head and said:
"In my case, there are competitors. Now it’s still auctioning containers every three days. But the cost is high, people are stealing business, and the cargo owners won’t sell unclaimed containers for less than one thousand dollars. The auction price is also slowly coming down—Boss, we need your guidance again!
For a few days after you left, because of your guidance, good things came out of those containers, and they were auctioned off well.
Now, some can’t get good stuff out, and some have good things, but when they come together, they can’t get a good price!"
Jason probably guessed that his boss had special abilities, so he just told the truth.
Sean nodded, indicating that he understood.
At that moment, Bondi and Mark hurried over.
Both of them were sweating.
"Boss!"
"Boss, hello!"
Both of them were very respectful to Sean.
After all, it was Sean who gave them their current lives, with money and power, a hundred times better than before!
"Alright, tell me about the situation of the freight yards you’re in charge of."
Bondi immediately said:
"Yes, boss! The freight yard I am in charge of currently stores more than 2,000 containers belonging to ninety-one companies and cargo owners. The rent for this month minus labor..."
The rent for the freight yard for one month could earn about 100,000 after deducting labor, which was not a small amount.
Mark’s report was simpler.
After all, he had just taken over and was not yet fully familiar with everything, and his income was less than half.
So his confidence was not as strong as Bondi’s.
After listening to the report, Sean went to look at the two freight yards.
Bondi took the lead to invite Sean to his freight yard.
Seeing the full container and the constant traffic of forklifts, as well as the busy little black guys, Bondi showed a triumphant look.
"Tell them to put on their safety helmets." Sean said.
He had mentioned it to Bondi once, but didn’t know why the boy hadn’t remembered.
"Yes." Bondi replied.
Going to Mark’s place, it was alright, and security measures were well maintained.
Returning to Jason’s freight yard, Sean saw the unclaimed containers that Jason had bought, and there were about thirty.
Using Sky Eye to scan them, he found only three or four of them were worth money.
Most of the rest were less than 10,000.
Sean put a few of them together and looked at Jason’s expectant face. He felt a little reluctant to dampen his enthusiasm, and asked:
"When are you going to buy unclaimed containers again?"
"I just bought a batch yesterday."
"That’s fine, then." Sean thought then said, "Put the box I left behind that hasn’t been opened yet in the first batch for the next auction. I think there’s something good inside!"
"Alright!"
Jason replied, then looked at his phone and told Sean:
"There’s an auction for a batch of containers at another freight yard in half an hour. Do you want to go and have a look, boss?"
"Well, I might as well go and see." Sean was actually interested and decided to go take a look.
Jason immediately led the way.
Elijah sneered, feeling that Jason was like a lackey.
But after thinking about Jason’s behavior in everyday life, Elijah felt it was not right to describe him like that.
Not everyone has the same philosophy, and not all people are educated in equality.
Arriving at the auction freight yard, Sean immediately saw several familiar faces.
