Chapter 176 - 175: Planning to Return to the Country

Chapter 176: Chapter 175: Planning to Return to the Country

Elijah wasn’t foolish, he naturally knew what a real national treasure was.

If he had to categorize, in his eyes, this treasure was not only more upscale than those porcelains but even more important than those beast heads!

Of course, everyone has their own perspective.

"What do you plan to do with this treasure?" Elijah asked.

"Of course, take it back to our country." Sean answered casually, "Leaving it here is a waste."

"But the process..."

"That’s not your concern. I have my own ways." Sean said and handed Elijah a check.

Elijah took a look, 100,000 dollars!

"That’s too much." Elijah felt somewhat guilty for accepting so much.

"It’s not. It looks safe now, but we never know when we might encounter a gun." Sean understood very well, "We were lucky this time."

After Elijah left, Sean stored the Bronze Man in his spatial realm.

On the second day of dawn, Sean was woken up by a phone call.

It was his uncle.

Sean chuckled. The old man was anxious.

He went to the study room and revealed the Bronze Man.

He didn’t take the phone call, but instead made a video call.

As expected, as soon as the video connected, his grandfather’s face appeared.

"Sean, what is the meaning of the photo and video you sent?" His grandfather didn’t beat around the bush.

Knowing his grandfather’s impatience, Sean dared not to joke around. Otherwise, he would face disciplinary action when he returned home.

"Grandfather, look." Sean pointed his mobile phone camera at the Bronze Man. "This is mine."

"Yours?" His grandfather asked, and then his gaze fell on the Bronze Man, completely ignoring Sean.

Sean knew his grandfather’s personality, so he kept quiet and switched angles, so his grandfather could see clearly.

Finally, his grandfather had seen enough and asked,

"Where did you get this treasure?"

"I traded it with someone." Sean answered with a chuckle.

"What did you trade for this?" His grandfather asked, but then quickly followed up with, "Can you bring it back?"

"Of course, I plan to bring it back before New Year."

Sean patted the Bronze Man and whispered:

"Grandfather, let me tell you, this Bronze Man has organs inside. . ."

"What?" His grandfather’s voice suddenly rose: "Be careful with it! This is a treasure! You will not be able to afford it if you break it!"

Sean thought, what do you mean I can’t afford? It’s mine!

However, he had to listen to the elderly, so he said with a smile:

"Rest assured, it’s made of bronze which is very sturdy. I’ll take good care of it."

"Alright then, I’ll see you when you get back!"

"Don’t hang up old man, I haven’t finished talking!" Granny grabbed the phone and asked Sean:

"Sean, are you able to stomach the food over there? Why have you become so tanned? Have you gone to work there?"

His grandfather interrupted:

"What kind of work? Can labouring bring back such a treasure?"

Granny sneered at grandfather:

"Like you know much!"

Then she turned back to Sean:

"Sean, if you are not accustomed to it over there, just come back. Granny will cook you delicious food! Seeing how tan you are... You can’t suffer like that."

It’s been a while since Granny had seen her grandson. The days when Sean was in town, he would visit his grandparents every week or two. Now that he been away for so long, Granny missed him tremendously.

Sean asked:

"Grannie, how are you and my grandfather doing health-wise?"

"We are both doing well! We’re just missing you. Will you be able to come back for New Year?"

"Yes." Sean confirmed, "I’ll be going back to see you then."

"Yes, yes, yes." Granny replied, then grumbled, "Did that old Sean put you to work? How can being abroad be as good as being at home"

Sean sighed, indeed, there’s no place like home.

He finally hung up the phone. The phone was overheating. Kathy had been waiting outside the whole time, so now she urged Sean to have breakfast.

After breakfast, Sean went to the freight yard.

Jason reported about the condition of the freight yard.

Although only a few days had passed, the freight yard had held an auction. Eleven containers, each went for over 10,000.

It was less than before, mainly because there were no good items to boost the auction.

Sean redistributed the containers that Jason had collected.

Jason hesitated to speak, Sean initiated:

"If there’s something you want to say, just say it. Don’t keep it to yourself."

"It’s about Clark." Jason was a little embarrassed, "Now I’m managing this yard and Bondi is managing the one next door, Clark is somewhat discontented. He also wants to manage a yard."

"What about Bondi’s freight yard?" Sean didn’t promise immediately but asked about the situation first.

Buying a freight yard was easy for Sean, but he had to inquire first.

"It’s very profitable, containers are coming in every day, and space is quickly running out." Jason reported, "Recently, a large number of supplies have been transported over, so the freight yards are very strained."

"Is there a freight yard that can be purchased?"

"Yes." Jason replied in a low voice, "Actually, Joanna’s father, Robert’s freight yard is for sale. For some reason, he urgently needs money, so he is selling."

"Then buy it."

This wasn’t a big deal for Sean.

However, he hasn’t talked about his family matters with Joanna, and Joanna didn’t tell him about her family matters either. Even though it saves trouble, it isn’t entirely a good thing.

Sean picked up Joanna. After a lingering kiss in the car, Sean asked:

"Dear, did something happen to your family?"

Joanna’s expression changed slightly, and then she shook her head and said:

"No."

Sean held Joanna’s face and said seriously:

"Dear, you know that I love you, so your troubles are my troubles. Therefore, if you are encountering any difficulties, I hope you won’t keep it to yourself. Your family is my family in my eyes. If I can solve your difficulties, I don’t want you to refrain from telling me because of some non-existent problem. That would only make both of us miserable."

Sean was being straightforward. Touched, Joanna hesitated a moment and then spoke:

"Indeed, my father’s business has hit a rough patch. He needs money for a turnover, so he’s currently planning to sell some assets."

"Ask how much he needs. I have some cash on hand which I wouldn’t be using. Of course, you don’t need to feel uncomfortable, even if I lend it to your father, I can charge interest."

Joanna knew Sean was considering her feelings, she nodded and planned to ask her father when she returned home.

After dropping off Joanna, Sean rented a small yacht and took a spin in the sea. In reality, he bundled the now energy-depleted jadeite and two corpses and tossed them into the sea.

On the way back after making a major detour, he caught several large fish – this was the advantage of having the Sky Eye, fishing was easy and convenient.

Next, Sean began preparing some items for his trip home, small gifts, local products and so on.

One day, Penson called, saying that the gift for Sean had arrived and asked Sean to receive it.

A truck pulled up outside the villa.

The truck driver asked Sean to sign the delivery order. The item was listed as ’stone’.

After Sean signed, the driver unloaded the cargo using a small crane from the truck. It was a few huge pieces of jadeite raw stone!

Penson did a good job!
