Chapter 162: Chapter 161: Leave Professional Matters to Professionals

"You need to find someone to show me around this area. I’m afraid I’ll be too conspicuous, and it’ll be more troublesome if I get targeted."

After listening to Sean Knight’s introduction and holding a front-facing photo of Peter, Elijah Hastings memorized Peter’s face carefully and then spoke.

"Alright."

Sean agreed and asked,

"Do you want me to go over the information again?"

"No need. I need a weapon, preferably one without any registration. You should know better about this than me. I don’t know how strict they are around here."

"Got it." Sean thought of the two bodyguards from the spatial realm and their weapons, and nodded in understanding.

It seemed like he needed to make time to dispose of those two corpses soon.

Sean called Jason Caldwell over and said,

"I need someone familiar with the streets of New York City. Do you have someone among your people?"

"I am! I’m very familiar!" Jason patted his chest and said confidently.

"Good, take him for a drive around these places, mainly," Sean mentioned the addresses, and Jason immediately assured,

"I know these places very well! I can definitely get this job done!"

Elijah went with Jason, and Sean cautioned them both to be careful before leaving.

In the car, Elijah asked Jason,

"How did you start working with your boss?"

Jason spoke as he drove,

"I came to New York with my brothers and sisters, and couldn’t find a job. Back then, we were living in the same place where you’re staying, me and my two brothers and sister."

Elijah could roughly imagine the four of them living in the container house he was staying in now, and it seemed quite difficult.

"I couldn’t find a job at the time, so I wandered around and heard about auctioning off containers, which might make money if I was lucky, so I came here."

"But there were so many rich people bidding for these containers, they would easily go for thousands or even tens of thousands of US dollars. I didn’t have that kind of money... so I was looking for someone to take me in."

"So you found your boss?" Elijah asked.

"No. At first, I found another black guy, thinking he would help me. But unfortunately, I was wrong."

Jason’s expression was somewhat complicated.

"Then I found Bosuns Evans. He was lucky at the time and had a good reputation, but not many people were friendly to him. I wanted to work with him, so Bosuns took me in."

At this point, Jason became excited,

"Bosuns is really capable! Those rich people didn’t take him seriously at first, but Bosuns made big money every time he auctioned a container...

Especially the first time I talked to Bosuns, you have no idea how embarrassing I was at that moment..."

Jason recalled the incident with the ox essence and had no qualms about telling the story. As he vividly recounted the event, Elijah couldn’t help but laugh.

Who would have thought it was that kind of thing?

Laughter brought them closer to each other.

"Bosuns is really a good person," Jason continued, "He takes good care of us. Rather than saying we’re working for him, it’s more like he’s taking care of us."

He looked at Elijah and said,

"Actually, back in our hometown in Africa, we also had dealings with the Chinese people. My sister can even cook good Chinese dishes! Bosuns loves them! I’ll treat you sometime!"

Elijah learned about Sean’s situation through Jason’s words.

This was a good fellow countryman.

Lucky and probably a good person too?

Soon, the car arrived at the scheduled neighborhood.

Elijah observed the terrain and surrounding buildings, comparing them with the impressions in his mind.

This area was where Peter’s villa was located.

The next area was where Peter’s office was. Peter owned a company and also invested in stocks and futures. Also, the club he frequented wasn’t too far away.

Every time Peter went out, he would bring several bodyguards with him, attaching great importance to his own safety.

"Let’s go to the parking lot first." Having checked all the areas, Elijah suddenly ordered.

Jason said,

"I can go around again if you want. You got everything? I can take another spin."

"Don’t. It’ll arouse suspicion," Elijah said cautiously, "One round is fine, but if we go around too much and get discovered and compared, there’ll be trouble."

Jason immediately turned the car into a shopping center’s parking lot.

Elijah got out of the car and looked out through the window, searching for a good position.

It wasn’t a great spot for an ambush here, as there would be too many witnesses.

However, two rooftop positions seemed decent.

Elijah pondered on it carefully.

Jason stood by and watched without saying a word.

"Alright, let’s drive away," Elijah felt that his conversation with Jason went quite well. At least they both spoke Mandarin, and were able to understand each other.

But if he wanted to work with Sean, he would need to improve his language skills.

Sean returned to the villa and greeted Kathy Lewis before heading to the study room.

Sky Eye could now automatically absorb energy from the outside, but it was at an extremely slow rate.

To upgrade, a large amount of external energy was needed.

It seemed that after dealing with Peter, it was indeed necessary to return to China.

As for going to the jadeite mines in Myanmar, it was better not to.

That place was too chaotic, which could cause trouble if he ended up getting hurt.

Having nothing to do, Sean picked up a book and started reading.

Although he barely auctioned containers now, it was still essential to have a knowledge reserve.

As it started getting dark, Jason called him on the phone.

However, it was Elijah’s voice in the mobile phone:

"We have checked the points, and I think I should report to you."

"Don’t say anything. I’ll be right over."

Sean was very cautious. He was worried that the phone call might be monitored or traced, causing trouble.

When he arrived at the container house, Jason was chatting happily with Elijah. As Sean came in, Jason immediately stood up and said cheerfully,

"Boss, we’re done with the task."

Sean nodded, and Jason left with a smile.

Elijah said to Sean,

"I’ve finished checking the area and have almost selected a good position. On my way back, I also encountered Peter. Now I need a gun, preferably a sniper rifle. Of course, other rifles will work too if that’s not possible.

I think it’s better to act in two days. I need to compare the advantages and disadvantages of the locations more closely. And, it would be best if you have Jason change the car by the time you pick me up."

Elijah said a lot and in great detail, and Sean took note of it all.

"I’ll handle the gun situation, and finding a car won’t be a problem," Sean thought for a moment and said, "You rest first, and I’ll notify you when everything is ready."

He remembered that there was a gun chamber in the villa, and there seemed to be a few rifles with scopes there, which should be useful.

Both men casually confirmed their plan like that.

When Sean and Elijah came out together, Jason said,

"Boss, Freya has prepared dinner and would like to invite you and Elijah to join us; if that’s alright with you."

"Fine," Sean nodded.

Although the food at the villa was exquisite, Sean preferred a lively atmosphere.

There was always a special appeal to having a meal together with many people when he was young.

With fewer people, meals weren’t as enjoyable anymore.
