Chapter 160: Chapter 159: I’m just that ruthless!

"During this treasure hunt, you have demonstrated remarkable talent and professionalism," Peter’s unusual gentleness surprised Sean Knight.

"This is your reward for this time." Someone handed Sean two stacks of money.

20,000 dollars?

"Looking forward to our future cooperation," Peter confidently said, "This time, we encountered an accident. In a week, we will embark on another treasure hunt, and I will have someone notify you then. You may leave now."

Sean took the money and left with his backpack.

"Bosuns, are you just letting him go like that?" A subordinate by Peter’s side asked, "Aren’t you afraid he’ll leak information?"

"No, he’s the kind of person who’s cautious in all matters. Since he has people he cares about, he’ll be afraid that we’ll threaten him. As long as we occasionally show him a strong hand, he’ll cooperate with us obediently."

As he spoke, Peter exuded confidence: "Besides, his abilities indeed are quite strong. In all our years of treasure hunting, when have we ever had a harvest like this? Although it’s not much, but it proves something - that this man can truly find treasure!"

The subordinate stopped talking and left the boat.

Sean went to the freight yard with his backpack.

Seeing Sean arrive, Little Black shouted. Jason and the others rushed over and excitedly asked:

"Bosuns, you’re back? That’s great!"

Sean was good at delegating responsibility and paying well due to his trust in Little Black and, of course, his laziness.

Therefore, Little Black and the others respected Sean. Of course, anyone who occasionally looked down on him had already been beaten by Jason.

After all, Jason had seen how capable Sean was.

"There’s nothing wrong with the freight yard, right?" Sean looked around and asked.

Some rusty containers were piled up, making the place seem emptier. They seemed to be unclaimed containers collected to be auctioned off.

"It’s been good, but the auction prices haven’t been great recently." Jason looked expectantly at Sean.

"Alright. Auction this one, this one, and these together. And this one, this one,..."

Sean casually instructed, and Jason immediately shouted orders at the others:

"Bosuns has spoken, aren’t you taking notes? Get the car quickly, put these together as Bosuns said, don’t mess it up, if you do, no bonus!..."

Sean went to the neighboring freight yard and found it much busier than Jason’s side.

The freight yard was full, containers were piled high, and Little Black and the others ran around busily.

"Wear your safety helmets!" Sean reminded them, "Be careful!"

"Hehe!" Two of the Little Blacks grinned, revealing their white teeth, then put on their helmets and ran away.

Bondi handed Sean the account book, and he was surprised to see that at least half of the goods came from China.

No wonder it’s called the world’s factory!

Sean sighed, handed the book back to Bondi, and instructed:

"Pay attention to safety, make sure to wear helmets, don’t run around, and don’t mess with these things. They could kill someone with a single drop!"

Bondi nodded vigorously.

Although there was more work on his side, the profits were not as high as Jason’s side.

Although he felt competitive, Bondi knew that he was much better off than the other Little Blacks who didn’t work here.

Bondi didn’t talk much, but he still wanted to catch up with Jason’s side and prove his abilities.

Sean didn’t interfere with their matters. After saying what he had to say, he took a taxi back to the villa.

Seeing Sean return, Kathy happily hugged him:

"Mr. Knight, it’s so good that you’re back safely!"

Feeling Kathy’s genuine joy, Sean said with a smile:

"Yes, I feel the same way."

Kathy busied herself preparing food, while Sean took a shower to relax.

Although his physical exertion on the island was not that heavy compared to his current strength, the pressure was not small at all.

After all, he had to be prepared for potential killings at any time, so Sean’s nerves were constantly on edge.

Now that he was back at the villa, he finally felt safe. His mental fatigue made Sean want to sleep as soon as possible.

However, the aroma of food from the kitchen made Sean decide to endure it – he would eat his fill first!

After a hearty meal, gorging on all the food Kathy had prepared, Sean let out a satisfied burp and went to bed.

Watching Sean’s actions and expressions, Kathy felt pity but knew she couldn’t help in other ways, so she focused more on food and living arrangements.

When he woke up, it was already dark.

He checked his mobile phone and saw several missed calls.

First, he called home to check on things, chatted with his father, then with his mother. Afterward, he called Joanna Davis.

Sean wasn’t worried about his parents since Peter going to China to cause trouble would essentially be suicide.

After hearing that Sean was back, Joanna wanted him to pick her up, but then changed her mind, telling Sean to rest well, and that she would come over tomorrow.

When Sean woke up fully refreshed, he said he would pick Joanna up in a little while, and she naturally agreed.

Then there was a call from Jason saying that Elijah Hastings had returned.

Sean was surprised but didn’t immediately go to see Elijah. Instead, he asked Jason to arrange a place for Elijah to stay at the container house, and he would go there the next day.

After picking up Joanna, Sean headed straight to the new villa.

Newlyweds’ reunion was exciting, and the two were perfectly in sync. She was like rain after a long drought, and he like a spirited warhorse. The gun came out like a dragon, and they went back and forth. Nothing more to say.

The second day, Joanna exited using the wall as support, and Sean drove her to school before going to the freight yard.

Among the group of Little Blacks, Sean immediately saw Elijah helping out with the work. He walked over, and Jason came running. Seeing Sean looking at Elijah, he immediately beckoned him over.

Among them, only Jason could speak a few words of Mandarin, and Elijah’s English wasn’t very good, so the two of them communicated.

"Did you finish your business?" Sean tossed the piece of Han jade to Elijah as he asked.

Elijah caught the jade and nodded, saying:

"It’s done."

"Can you tell me what it was about?" Sean asked curiously.

Elijah hesitated for a moment, then shook his head:

"I can’t say. It’s best not to talk about it, so I don’t cause you trouble."

"But the problem I need you to help solve is also troublesome." Sean took Elijah to a makeshift room at the entrance of the freight yard, "And illegal."

"I promised you," Elijah said calmly, "As long as I can do it."

Sean didn’t speak immediately but remembered the scene on the island.

Jason knew Sean wanted to discuss something. He chased everyone out of the room and left himself.

On the island, Sean’s Sky Eye saw not only the pirate artifacts underground, but also many skeletons!

Some of these skeletons had been buried just a few years ago!

Each of these skeletons had suffered knife wounds, gunshot wounds, and some had even been strangled with ropes before being buried.

Although Sean hadn’t dug up any of them himself, he had seen more than ten with Sky Eye!

He didn’t want to become the next one!
