Chapter 1501: Chapter 715: Racing Against Time to Salvage Underwater Treasures_2

The person next to him was naturally the buyer. Although Douglas Cooper wasn’t a professional purchaser, he had a discerning eye and always picked the best. Letting him pick out the best stuff meant that although you could still haggle over price when purchasing, the quality just wouldn’t be the same!

Therefore, the buyer was naturally unwilling.

However, Douglas didn’t care about that. At most, it was a matter of bidding—what was there to be afraid of?

When the person tried to push Douglas, his arm stretched out and then was blocked by Lincoln Harrington, who had arrived just in time.

What a joke; if they let Douglas be touched now, given his temper, he would be bound to cause a huge scene.

Lincoln pushed the guy aside, who became angry and wanted to regain some face, but upon turning around, he saw two Chinese men, neither of them short, obviously not the type to be trifled with.

Instantly, the guy got scared, muttering to himself, but he didn’t dare to step forward.

Douglas got two fish and was pleased. Turning his head, he saw Lincoln and Sean Knight and immediately said with a smile:

"Boss, these fish are really fresh—they’ve just been caught. Shall we grill them on the yacht later?"

"Sure!" Sean smiled and replied, "We’ll grill some and marinate the rest... Oh right, how are your fish filleting skills?"

"I wouldn’t have boasted before, but now, thanks to your help, boss, my fish filleting skills are no worse than a Michelin-starred chef—oh, that’s not what I should say. I should say they’re no worse than those of the former Imperial Chef!"

"That’s settled then, we have some wasabi on the yacht—we’ll eat some sashimi."

"The king crab over there is also not bad. If I hadn’t given a heads-up in advance, that guy would have bought them all... Huh? Where’s that guy?"

Douglas had actually been aware of someone harassing him before but hadn’t paid any attention, just focusing on getting his hands on the fish.

Now that he turned around and didn’t see the fish buyer, he was surprised.

"He’s gone," Sean waved his hand, "Alright, let’s hurry up and buy, and once we’re done, we’ll head to the yacht."

The scenery here was actually quite nice; naturally, it was more stable on land than at sea. That’s why Sean had come over. But after coming here and going for a couple of rounds, he became worried about the submarine in the canyon on the seabed.

If the salvage ship managed to take it, wouldn’t all their efforts be in vain?

So now he was suddenly in a hurry.

With Sean getting anxious, Douglas and Lincoln naturally sped up. They bought a lot more fresh fish and seafood, and holding the goods, they boarded the yacht.

At this moment, Elijah Hastings was moving stuff onto the yacht. Sean and the others went to help, and in no more than half an hour, the yacht was fueled up, supplies were ready, and they left the pier, heading out to sea.

"Boss, where are we going?" Inside the cockpit, Elijah asked Sean.

Douglas and Lincoln were fussing with the seafood in the kitchen, and the aroma was already wafting over.

"Let’s just cruise around nearby first..." Sean looked out through the cockpit’s front glass window, "Huh? That fishing boat looks familiar, doesn’t it?"

"That one? Let me see... It looks like one we encountered this morning where we were anchored," Elijah glanced and said, "It should be the same one."

"It must have seen us coming back and so followed us over, right?" Sean laughed, "Then let’s go around that island we visited yesterday and see afterward."

Elijah nodded and steered the yacht towards the direction of the unnamed island.

Soon, Lincoln and Douglas brought over the marinated sashimi and the grilled fish.

"The king crab is still boiling; it’ll be ready later." As Douglas was setting things up, he mentioned, "Let’s start with this salmon—the freshness is really top-notch!"

The four of them chatted while eating, and unconsciously finished several fish.

Douglas’s knife work was impeccable; the fish slices were very thin, and being extremely fresh, tasted marvelous.

Before they knew it, the yacht had reached the vicinity of the unnamed island.

There weren’t many sunken ships on the seafloor, and Sean managed to find the sunken ship Cheryl Suweton had mentioned.

It was indeed a large sailboat style from centuries ago, but to be honest, looking through Sky Eye, Sean was disappointed. The sailboat had already been salvaged, judging by the marks, probably decades ago.

The wooden planks of the ship’s cabin had several big holes, and there was nothing worth money left inside—at least, Sky Eye didn’t spot any obvious precious metals on the surface.

Sean Knight had originally planned to steer the yacht away with a turn, but then he instructed Elijah Hastings to bring the yacht to a stop.

"I’ll go down for a look, I’ll be up shortly." Sean Knight quickly donned a diving suit, "If those salvage ships come, don’t worry about them, let them come to inspect."

Saying this, he dove into the water.

The reason for diving was that at the front part of the sailboat’s hull, he had found a wooden mezzanine.

It seemed the sailboat had once been full of goods, but the cargo hold was now empty. The main cause of the shipwreck was probably a storm; therefore, there weren’t any obvious scars on the ship’s body from a long time ago.

But now, there were two large holes in the ship cabin, created decades ago, clearly to break through and move goods out of the cargo hold.

Not only the cargo hold but also the cabins of some of the crew had been ransacked.

However, the previous salvagers didn’t possess Sky Eye, and their equipment was probably primitive back then. They only focused on scavenging the goods inside the ship, with no intention of salvaging the ship itself.

And now, what Sean Knight saw was a rather large cabin on the ship, where there was a trapdoor in the deck. Inside the compartment was an iron box, containing three things at the moment.

A bag of golden coins, a firearm—a type of pistol—and a sheepskin map wrapped in oil paper.

Sean Knight remembered what Cheryl Suweton had said, this sunken ship they had found was very likely to be that of some great pirate. Thus, this sheepskin map could possibly be a treasure map!

So, no matter what, Sean Knight was determined to get his hands on this map first!

This was an unexpected fortune.

Having a clear objective, Sean Knight went straight to the sunken ship upon diving. The depth was only about several tens of meters, which wouldn’t greatly impact him given his current physical condition, even with a rapid dive.

Arriving at the shipwreck, Sean Knight didn’t enter. There were two big octopuses in the sunken ship, not small in size, and Sean Knight didn’t want to cause trouble. He simply broke open the side of the ship to reveal the compartment.

Sean Knight saw the iron box. Just as he was about to reach for it, a thick tentacle stretched out, followed by a big octopus the size of a washbasin swinging its eight tentacles toward Sean Knight.

Sean Knight thought to himself, you’re really forcing my hand here!

While thinking this, his movements were swift; as soon as the tentacle touched him, he pulled it into his spatial realm.

The other octopus, just making an appearance, got startled and retreated quickly upon seeing its companion vanish!

Smart!

Having secured the items he desired, Sean Knight immediately ascended. He knew the salvage ship would never relax its surveillance of the yacht, and they might have already noticed his dive and could be rushing over this way.

Once he surfaced, Sean Knight was pulled onto the deck by Lincoln Harrington, and as he was removing his diving equipment, he asked:

"Have the salvage boats come yet?"

"They’re on their way here, not just salvage boats but also two fishing boats. Seems like they’ve really got an eye on us."

"Then let’s take them on a little tour, give them a good chase!"

Having secured his first haul, Sean Knight was in high spirits, smiling as he said:

"Let’s go, we won’t rush, just take a few more loops along yesterday’s route!"

"Roger that!" Elijah Hastings replied, starting up the yacht and steering it toward the depths of the sea.

From a distance, the salvage ship with its radar on noticed that the yacht was moving away, which immediately aroused their curiosity.

In their speculation, this had to be the yacht’s real destination. Why would they leave?

"Is it possible that the yacht has a radar, too, and they knew we were coming, so they left?" someone guessed.

"Regardless, we need to keep an eye on Small Island over there!" said the director of the salvage ship, "How is the domestic salvage ship we contacted doing? When are they coming to check the underwater situation here?"

"They won’t be here until the day after tomorrow." someone replied, "They said they have a lot of preparations to make."

Alright. The director of the salvage ship sighed, "Keep as close to the yacht as possible, mark all the places they stay, and we’ll check them all later!"
