Chapter 1422: Chapter 687 Extreme Protection Organization_2

It was swift and electrifying, yet now it seemed like a farce.

Sean Knight got out of the car and took a few steps forward, when Elijah Hastings immediately stopped him.

"Boss, don’t go forward yet," Elijah said, "The intentions of these people are unclear, and they don’t seem friendly. I’ll go ahead and check."

With that, he walked forward with a pistol in his hand, fearless despite the modest weapon.

In the years he had followed Sean Knight, although he hadn’t fully absorbed the energy from the gold figurine, his body had undergone a drastic transformation.

Elijah felt that even if the heroes from the Marvel universe were to show up, he’d dare to arm wrestle with them.

The pickup truck driver didn’t dare to get out; he might have been fierce, but he wasn’t stupid.

With several guns pointed at him, getting out would be suicidal, wouldn’t it?

But the people behind didn’t know that.

People from several cars behind him also got out, some to check on the cars, while others, furious, hurried over to assess the situation.

Then they were utterly bewildered.

What does this mean?

Why were there so many people, so many guns on the opposite side?

Even the Russians were dumbfounded when faced with muzzles.

Not all Russians would rashly charge towards a gun pointed at them.

Especially since the other side had already opened fire—not at all just to scare them!

The first few who came over were stunned right there.

The scene became rather awkward, with these few unsure whether to advance or retreat.

However, within two minutes, more people came.

These newcomers also saw the guns and the defensively positioned team members, but instead of being scared, they directly raised a banner with two sticks and waved it towards Sean Knight and the others.

Sean Knight didn’t recognize Russian and turned to look at Viola.

"Swear to protect our castle!"

Viola translated with a strange expression and, worried Sean might not understand, further explained,

"This is likely a radical preservation organization specifically aimed at protecting these... these historic relics purchased by people from other countries."

Sean Knight was initially bewildered but then realised!

So that was the extent of their "extremism"!

He reasoned that such castles, if left to naturally erode or if they were damaged by local people, these activists wouldn’t care.

But the moment someone from abroad purchased or leased these castles, these activists would spring into action to protest and seek to thwart such deals, all to drive the foreigners away or disrupt the process.

Sean Knight felt that calling this extremism wasn’t incorrect, but they were not simply extremists in terms of architectural preservation; they were outright extreme nationalists.

Defined by the knowledge he gained in high school, they were narrow nationalists.

Such people exist everywhere.

It seemed normal enough. Russia’s predecessor, the Soviet Union, was once regarded as a big brother to China, as it was commonly put, given the sheer scale of the Soviet Union; the polar bear wasn’t something to joke about.

Though eventually brought down by the Star Wars Project, largely due to internal governance issues and the flaws of the coalition, it wasn’t because they weren’t powerful.

Thinking of the world’s biggest transport aircraft, the Antonov An-225, and realistically the world’s first long-term space station, the Mir, both of which were Soviet achievements, one should appreciate the strength of the former Soviet Union.

Even the main construction tasks of the current International Space Station were up to Russia to complete.

Of course, similar to who liberated Berlin, the Soviet Union’s merits and strength are gradually being altered by those controlled by capital, leading many to believe that the International Space Station was built by the Americans leading a coalition of six countries.

But in reality, from start to finish, the Americans neither possessed the strength nor the capability, at least not objectively, to build any standalone space station core foundations.

But the Americans are persuasive; Russia needed their money to complete the projects, so although the difficult tasks were undertaken by Russia, when the American space shuttles were destroyed, it was the Russian Union spacecraft that transported all the cargo.

Now Russia has declined, but the former strength of Russia makes many within its borders unable to accept this reality, so they cling to narrow nationalism, resisting all foreigners.

Even those who were once brothers-in-arms—like China.

There’s that saying, isn’t there? The ones who least want you to succeed might not be your adversaries, but those close to you.

Now, with China’s development unstoppable and its economic magnitude already far surpassing Russia’s, rapidly catching up to America,

This stirs envy in many Russians, and of course, a fair number also disapprove.

After all, this was once their junior brother!

Thus, these people hold a very complex attitude towards Chinese People coming to Russia looking for opportunities to make money.

To call it hatred would be too strong, but it’s certainly unfriendly.

Sean Knight could understand this mindset, but he didn’t care.

I paid the money, and you received it, so this place is my domain.

If you want to start trouble with me, then we’ll see if the bullets in my gun agree!

Elijah and the others shared this sentiment. At this moment, Elijah was by the door, not far from Sean and the rest, so he too heard Viola’s words and quickly grasped the situation.

He hadn’t planned any action yet when Sean spoke up:

"Elijah, snap those two sticks in half!"

The Russians were holding sticks supporting the banner, and people behind them were chanting slogans.

Although these people weren’t advancing, they still seemed somewhat intent.
