Chapter 1406: Chapter 682: The Conceited Woman

The duel between the two lasted for a full two hours.

Although it was on and off, Sean was somewhat surprised. Viola’s combat power was quite impressive!

The two had been silent the entire time, just holding each other and falling into a deep sleep.

The next morning, at breakfast time, Viola tried hard to act normal. After breakfast, Douglas wanted to follow up on the land matter.

However, Sean said,

"No rush, let’s talk about it tomorrow."

Although he didn’t mention it, Viola understood that Sean wanted her to have a good rest.

Viola kept her head down, not saying much, but her heart was filled with sweetness.

"Assign a few people to guard here," Sean instructed, "I’m going to the city this afternoon. Then, send a few team members to replace those who haven’t returned from the city, we need to rotate."

Previously leaving some team members in the city was considered a vacation after work. Now, after these few days, it was time for a change. It wasn’t fair to always have the team members working in the wild.

That wouldn’t be fair.

Of course, no one else had any objections.

Sean glanced at Viola but didn’t say much. He was planning to go to the city and naturally, he intended to take Viola with him.

Even though it was a matter of mutual desire and intense passion, Sean felt that as a man, there were things he ought to do.

After a simple lunch here, without any rest, Sean and the rest got in the car and headed for the city.

With few people and cars on smooth roads, it took less than an hour to arrive in the city district.

Having checked into a Five-Star Hotel first, Sean then took Viola on a shopping spree in the Shopping Center.

Typically, Viola would have a stern face and express little emotion when she was with Sean, not talking much except to translate.

But after last night’s activities, she was now vibrant, her demeanor even more graceful, and as she walked down Main Street, her turn-back rate was one hundred and fifty percent!

They went to the largest Shopping Center in the city, where Sean led Viola straight to the women’s clothing area and began shopping for clothes for her.

Viola passively tried on clothes. The service staff spoke English and communicated smoothly with Sean. Over the years, Sean’s eye for fashion had also sharpened, and he picked out seven or eight outfits for Viola suitable for various occasions. Viola, who didn’t talk much, couldn’t take it anymore and exclaimed, "Enough, enough."

"How could it be enough?" Sean said with a smile, "I feel like you’re really a clothes rack, everything looks good on you."

Most of his comment was not flattery—Viola’s figure was indeed perfect, and the various clothes she tried on showcased different charms.

Having the team members put the clothes in the car, Sean then went to the Jewelry counter.

There were quite a few international brands available. Sean picked out a three-piece sapphire jewelry set for Viola. When it came to pay and the amount hit six figures in US Dollars, Viola tried to refuse, but Sean stopped her.

"If they had anything better here, we wouldn’t be buying this," Sean said with a smile.

The counter clerk, already pleased with completing a big sale for the day, was suddenly unhappy upon hearing Sean’s remark.

It must be said, it’s a worldwide problem—some clerks, genuinely considerate, provide excellent service.

While others act as though the items at the counter are their own, taking any slight suggestion from customers as an affront.

"Sir," the counter clerk said with a forced smile, "our brand is one of the top 500 in the world! Every piece of jewelry here is a boutique! Any of them, if placed in any other store, would be considered a rare treasure that is hard to come by..."

The implication was that this was already the best.

Sean just smiled, having no intention of arguing with the clerk—they were not on the same level. He took Viola’s hand, ready to leave.

Unexpectedly, the clerk thought she had rendered Sean speechless and proudly said,

"Having money requires taste too, don’t think a bit of money equates to class, there’s much left to learn..."

Her tone was somewhat off-putting.

Turning around, Sean replied with an ambiguous smile,

"And you say your items are treasures wherever they go?"

The clerk did not expect Sean to turn around and challenge her, but she wasn’t about to show weakness. Being in this store, she had always held her head high, envied by others, which over time led her to adopt an attitude of disdain for everything.

As Sean retorted, the clerk smirked with concealed contempt,

"Sir, I’m just stating the facts."

Casually pulling out a necklace set with a pigeon egg-sized ruby, Sean questioned,

"In front of this piece of jewelry, can any of your items be called a treasure?"

The woman, a counter clerk for many years, could immediately tell that Sean’s item was authentic!

Just by its quality and value, purchasing the entire selection in her counter wouldn’t be enough to match it!

She was suddenly at a loss for words.

Sean chuckled, handed the necklace to Viola, and turned to leave—choosing not to put it on her first because of the classic style of the necklace, which didn’t quite suit her, and also because Viola was already wearing the newly bought one.

However, such jewelry was plentiful in Sean’s space, so he didn’t mind giving it to her.

After walking a few steps, the clerk, perhaps hoping to salvage some self-respect—after all, from the moment Sean began purchasing jewelry for Viola, quite a few people had been watching.

On one hand, because Viola was so beautiful, onlookers were naturally many. On the other hand, Sean’s spending was so generous it generated envy and jealousy.
