Chapter 1306: 648
The Chinese dressed in patient attire, who were watching the commotion, were being taken aside by the police for questioning.
A policeman saw the off-road vehicle driving out, saw Elijah Hastings driving, and harbored no suspicion but instead turned his head to continue monitoring the Research Institute.
Several minutes later, the police finally confirmed that there were no gunshots inside, unsure whether the robbers had left or were up to something within.
Moving cautiously with guns and shields in hand, they then saw several individuals in white coats inside the locked front gate of the Research Institute, frantically shouting something.
Though the police didn’t see any robbers through the glass, they still cautiously progressed forward.
It was then that one policeman, based on the researchers’ lip movements, guessed a word:
"Bomb!"
"There’s a bomb!" the policeman shouted, "Requesting backup! Request bomb disposal experts to come over!"
At his call, the other policemen immediately ran backwards.
Having just run a few steps, a tremendous explosion sounded from behind, and the resulting shockwave blew those men away!
They really were sent flying!
One explosion after another completely lifted the Research Institute into the air, the roof flying dozens of meters into the sky, and then the place turned into a pile of ruins.
Already two kilometers away in the off-road vehicle, Sean Knight looked back, then turned his head forward again.
"Boss, was that the Research Institute exploding?"
"Yes," Sean Knight nodded.
"With that explosion, everything powerful inside must have turned to ash by now, I suppose?" Lincoln Harrington asked.
"Pretty much."
Sean Knight turned to look at Douglas Cooper:
"Douglas, how’s your arm?"
"It’s scabbed over." Douglas Cooper had already untied his tourniquet, "Boss, you’re amazing! This wound healed incredibly fast!"
"You guys handle the attacking; I’m just the doctor here."
"Boss, your doctor’s output is a bit fierce," Lincoln Harrington said seriously, "kinda like the paladin healing behind a Russian in those online videos."
"Can’t compare, can’t compare," Sean Knight waved his hand, "I just know a trick or two. Seen a lot, gotta learn something, right?"
The off-road vehicle sped on, they had to get away before the police found any clues leading to them.
"Boss, where’s the next stop?" Douglas Cooper, already recovered, was excited in the car.
With the boss’ skills, he felt they could be even bolder in their actions.
"I plan to take a look at where the Sharde family members are," Sean Knight said, "We can’t just let them attack us without striking back."
"Right!" Douglas Cooper clenched his fist, "We’ve never been so aggrieved! The farmland’s been attacked twice, what are they up to? We must definitely take our revenge!"
"Watch your language!" Elijah Hastings frowned while listening, "You’re not in the gangster business."
"Alright alright, we must take our revenge regardless, or life is too frustrating," Douglas Cooper said, "We all have spiritual energy now, and if we still let others bully us like this, isn’t our energy wasted?"
"Have you been watching ’Underground Railroad’ too much?" Sean Knight asked with a smile, "Why does that line sound so familiar?"
"Heh heh," Douglas Cooper laughed in the car, "Just saw that clip while browsing short videos, really funny. That Communist Party member, really acts whatever role he plays."
Talking and laughing, they arrived at the airport.
Without any delay, they took a plane to New York.
What surprised Sean Knight earlier was that several members of the Sharde family currently traceable were indeed in New York.
This was getting interesting.
Here, there were Davena family members, Sharde family members, and it was also where Sean Knight had made his fortune.
However, it was understandable. As the largest metropolis of the Americans, wealthy people could find what they liked here.
As long as you’re wealthy, the Sharde family can live here like in Paradise.
Despite their calls for many to build a nation in the desert, in reality, not one of these Jewish families that had been wealthy for generations took that country as their base camp.
At most, they donated some money.
Arriving in New York, Sean Knight did not go to find Joanna Davis, Jason Caldwell, or Kasey, nor did he look for Mr. John. They settled into a hotel in the wealthy district of New York.
After booking their rooms, Sean Knight gathered the other three in his own room.
"The Sharde family’s four members each have a villa on Long Island," Sean Knight said, "Groove Shade is the most powerful of them, holding one-sixth of the family’s enterprises in the Sharde second-generation."
"Is he bad?" Douglas Cooper asked.
"He is responsible for the Sharde Group’s food industry," Sean Knight said, "Our farm was likely attacked under his directive this time. Additionally, when the world’s four major grain corporations attempted to undermine China’s grain prices, he was behind that as well."
"Then there’s no problem," Douglas Cooper said, "Shall we hit him first?"
"Yeah, find the person first, then take action. We have to be thorough," Sean Knight said, "We have to ensure that the others won’t run away because of his situation and affect our subsequent actions."
"Understood," all three, including Elijah Hastings, replied.
"All right, head back to your rooms now and rest," Sean Knight said, "We’re still some distance from Long Island, so we rest today, sharpen our energy, then tomorrow we’ll scout out the situation first to see if that guy is around and check out the security measures before deciding how to act."
Back at the Research Institute, Sean Knight didn’t gain much financially, but it was more about a feeling of satisfaction.
And now, he came here for revenge.
No matter how much money one has, if life isn’t enjoyable, what’s the use of all that money?
The second day after breakfast, they divided their tasks and headed to Long Island to begin reconnaissance.
Sean Knight was still the main recon force, and of course, he would keep his Sky Eye a secret.
The incident at the Research Institute made him realize that he must always keep Sky Eye active at critical times.
Otherwise, it was very dangerous!
Luckily, he now had enough energy within his body to sustain Sky Eye for an extended period.
Just arriving near Groove Villa, Sean Knight discovered that this guy’s security was exceptionally tight!
Police cars were patrolling the vicinity from time to time, and bodyguards in the villa were vigilantly watching the surroundings.
Taking action here would be as difficult as climbing a mountain!
