Chapter 112: Chapter 112: This Time It’s Stable!

At first, Sean didn’t plan on revealing his discovery.

If the police could find the clues, Sean would be happy to hide his true abilities.

Exposing one’s abilities to the police is not a wise thing to do.

However, Mark had hidden the clues very well. The policemen saw Mark’s wife and daughter at home, looking pitiful, so they were more "polite" and restrained in their search, which didn’t turn up anything useful.

Sean had no choice but to speak up and remind them.

Upon hearing Sean’s words, Paul Walker rejoiced and immediately prepared to go upstairs.

Mark’s wife’s face changed drastically!

She was not as innocent as she seemed!

She knew about most of Mark’s activities!

After all, her husband’s money was what she lived off of, and she didn’t have a job herself. How could she not know what her husband was doing?

So she was well aware that his activities were illegal.

However, her husband was very discreet in his activities, so she wasn’t too worried.

After Mark was arrested, she carefully searched the house and found no evidence.

Mark’s wife was sure of this!

As soon as Sean said he had found something, she immediately felt he might be framing them!

So even before Paul could go upstairs, Mark’s wife quickly rushed up the stairs, shouting as she went:

"You’re trying to frame us! We don’t have anything illegal in our house!"

She moved so quickly that she knocked her own daughter down in the process!

But Mark’s wife didn’t care about her daughter’s crying -- in her eyes, if her husband was found guilty, their family would lose its source of income, and their current comfortable lifestyle could not be guaranteed!

She would not allow such a thing to happen!

Sean stared in amazement as the elegant woman he had just seen was now rushing up like a madwoman, trying to protect her family’s "innocence". He quickly stepped back to let her barge into the study.

Paul hurriedly followed, and then chased the woman into the study.

However, nothing had changed from just now in the study - there was no "evidence" on the desk or bookshelves.

Mark’s wife stared at Sean, dumbfounded.

Paul exhaled and also turned to look at Sean.

The two police officers followed. Paul asked them to control Mark’s wife, then turned to Sean and said:

"Go on, where is it?"

Now, he put all his hope on Sean.

Of course, he trusted Sean.

Paul knew that out of everyone, Sean was the one who most wanted Mark arrested and locked up!

Only when Mark was found guilty would Elson Johnson be implicated, and Sean could safely and smoothly inherit the estate.

Sean entered the study, faced with four pairs of eyes staring at him, and suddenly smiled.

"Actually, you’ve all been fooled by Mark, who’s led you into a blind spot in your line of sight."

He reached forward and picked up a thin book casually placed on the desk. Just as he was about to speak, Mark’s wife suddenly broke free from the grip of the two police officers, snatched the book, and tore it apart in an instant!

Not only did she tear the book apart, but she also stuffed part of it into her mouth and swallowed it!

Damn! She’s ruthless!

Sean was dumbfounded once again!

Paul didn’t expect Mark’s wife to be so crazy. He scolded the two police officers:

"How could you let her take advantage like this? The evidence is gone; how are we supposed to handle this case now?"

The two officers also didn’t expect Mark’s wife to make such a move. Feeling embarrassed, they rushed forward, grabbed Mark’s wife, and snatched back whatever was left of the torn paper. However, there wasn’t much left.

Paul took the torn pieces of paper and said helplessly:

"Let’s see how much we can piece together when we get back..."

He said to Sean:

"I’m sorry..."

Sean strangely said:

"I didn’t say the discovery was this book. This should just be an ordinary computer science book, right? I just picked it up out of curiosity..."

Huh?

What?

Now it was the others’ turn to be dumbfounded!

Sean smiled, bent down, and took out a computer from under the desk. As he unscrewed the back cover and removed the side panel, he said:

"This computer hasn’t been used for a long time, has it? There’s dust on the computer case, but there are clear and obvious fingerprints on the back half of it. This implies that it’s often taken apart, which means there’s only one possibility: there’s something hidden inside!"

As Sean opened the computer’s side panel, the others saw a notebook inside the computer case, in addition to the normal components.

Sean took out the notebook and waved it to Paul, saying:

"This should be the evidence of Mark’s misdeeds!"

Mark’s wife wanted to kill Sean with her glare!

All because of this bastard! Not only did he make her eat a book, but he also found the real evidence, and she was laughed at by so many people!

What’s more important is that the evidence was actually found!

She wanted to act again, but this time the two police officers didn’t indulge her. They pushed her directly against the bookshelf and immobilized her.

Paul took the notebook and flipped through it, and his eyes bulged in surprise!

He was about to speak to Sean when Sean waved his hand and said:

"I haven’t looked at the contents of this notebook, so I don’t know what’s in there. But I just hope that whatever is related to Elson won’t be overlooked!"

Paul didn’t expect Sean to be so smart -- he hadn’t even said anything, and Sean had already figured it out.

Paul didn’t say much but patted Sean on the shoulder and nodded.

Since Mark’s wife had not eaten the real evidence, Paul warned her and then left with his team.

After all, there was still a child. Police are human too. If the adults were arrested, what would happen to the child?

It could be done, but it wouldn’t be easy.

Back at the police station, Sean got out of the car and said to Paul:

"I’ll wait for your news."

Paul nodded heavily once again.

Sean drove away.

Paul went upstairs to find the director.

He handed the notebook to the director, whose face changed dramatically after reading it.

"Is everything in here... true?"

"It won’t be hard to find out."

"Who discovered it?" The director’s face was uncertain.

"It was a consultant I hired, but he didn’t look at the contents."

Hearing that no outsider had seen it, the director’s expression softened, and he asked:

"What are your demands?"

"Mark hired someone to kill, and this notebook has the records of his employer, Elson. I hope to send Elson to prison..."

"Anything else?"

"No."

"No problem then. I know that Elson you mentioned, he’s just a Chinese heritage rich second generation. Since he’s already involved, let’s handle this fairly!"

Paul left satisfied.

The director held the notebook, smiling and thinking about how to maximize his own interests using it!

His term as director was coming to an end; should he use this opportunity to move up?

As for who would succeed him?

That young man, Paul, wouldn’t be a bad choice!

Sean didn’t know about the police director’s intentions. He drove back to the freight yard, planning to see if he could open a container or something.

However, before he could do that, he got a phone call from Joanna Davis.

Something happened to his girlfriend?
