Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer -
Chapter 1024: Magical Girl
Chapter 1024: Magical Girl
With Kailey making the preparations for the arena stage, Xu Feng approached Natasha.
"I don’t mind a fight, but shouldn’t a fight have some betting?" He raised the question.
"What kind of betting do you propose?" Natasha inquired. She was destined to win the fight, so she didn’t mind seeing how he would dig a large pit for himself.
"Well, nothing much really. Just that the loser must agree to do one favor for the winner. Of course, the favor cannot be something offensive or illegal." Xu Feng suggested.
"Very well." Natasha nodded and readily agreed to the condition.
"The favor can still be rejected by the loser, just in case it goes against their principle, but each rejection must come at a price of 1 gold coin." She added, seemingly giving him a leeway.
Honestly, she had no intention of harming Nathan much aside from teaching him a lesson. She was someone with many important tasks to do to be focusing on someone like Nathan.
If it weren’t for the sudden discovery of his high level and being a non-affiliated player, then Natasha wouldn’t have cared much about him.
Needless to say, this was just a verbal agreement, and nobody would be signing some contract. To summarize, if one wanted to play shameless, then one could feign ignorance.
"Which battle stage do the two of you want to engage in?" Kailey finally spoke up once she noticed their conversation was coming to an end.
"I’ll let him choose. Otherwise, he might cry foul about me being an Arcane Mage." Natasha snickered.
"Fret not, I’m not a sore loser." Xu Feng mused and glanced at the numerous battle stages as if he were unfamiliar with them. "Let’s keep it simple and have an open field. This way, we can finish the fight early and get on with the actual training. We’re here to improve our combat experience, after all."
"I have no objection to an open field." She nodded in agreement and said.
Natasha had never forgotten about her main objective as to why she was here in Haven Wind Town.
Although there were many attractions in the town, none of them were at the level of the training hall which had been hyped a lot.
Moreover, she needed to confirm if it was indeed a fact that the Vanguard Guild possessed a method to improve one’s player combat experience.
Sometime later, the two of them entered the arena stage and their scenery changed to an open field.
"The Vanguard Guild sure knows how to allocate their funds well," Natasha commented, her eyes wandering around.
Just the battle stage simulation effect being this immersive caused her to realize the Vanguard Guild had spent a fortune on this training hall.
"Even if this isn’t a training hall, but an arena, the guild will still make a lot of money and attract many players." She murmured, feeling astonished by the scale that the Vanguard Guild was willing to invest through.
Her desire to eliminate such a guild only intensified. ’No wonder that the useless heir of Reaver Guild seeks our help. Offending such a guild was definitely not easy to survive with his puny status and influence.’
While Natasha remained distracted and pondered over the issue, her eyes suddenly narrowed.
"What’s wrong with you?" She shouted furiously and hurriedly activated flight and escaped the incoming vines that were approaching her from the ground. Her natural instinct kicked in and warned her about the danger.
Therefore, she was able to avoid the vines from entangling her.
"What do you mean by what’s wrong?" In response, Xu Feng held a smirk and pointed at the timer in the sky. "The battle has already begun, so it’s only right that I make a move. Or are you the type to let your enemy finish chanting their slogan or charging their attack before you make a move?"
"..."
Speechless, Natasha realized she was stumped by his logical explanation. He was right after all. Only a real idiot would ever allow their enemy to make a move.
As she raised her chin and looked at the timer, the clock was starting. Since they wanted the fight to be over, a time limit of 3 minutes was set. Once the time limit was reached, whoever had the lowest health loses the fight.
From that format, Natasha would have thought Xu Feng would play like a coward and heal himself repeatedly.
After all, that was how a typical cleric would fight in any battle. They barely had any offensive skills, and most of their kits were utilities and support.
Moreover, a cleric was extremely weak and easy to kill once they got locked down and had no protection from tanks.
Who could have imagined Xu Feng to disregard any of those strategies and go on the offensive?
"You really are—" When Natasha tried to shift her attention back to Xu Feng, she was suddenly blasted by multiple Celestial Spears. Her passive barrier was triggered, but the knockback effect was still present, causing her to falter midair.
What caused her to be stunned was that the spears managed to pierce through a small crack in the barrier and damaged her.

The damage was negligible for someone at her level, but Natasha felt her face burning. Not once, but twice she got caught off-guard and lost the tempo of the fight.
If anyone else were to learn of this incident, then her reputation and fame would have taken a nosedive. There would have been memes and gossip circulating around her daily.
"You are seriously a rude man." Infuriated, Natasha’s eyes flared up as she wielded her staff.
Instantly, she was dazzled by a colorful background, having been able to multicast at least 3 spells simultaneously.
"Wow, a magical girl has descended. Too bad I’m not a girl or a kid anymore to be impressed." Xu Feng commented, his tone containing a trace of pity and sarcasm.
"A-A magical girl?" Natasha’s mouth twitched repeatedly, and her pupils constricted. "Who the hell is giving you a show?"
