Vol. 11 - Ch. 574 - The Strongest Technique of Machos - «Muscle Roller»!

The spectacle of Machos aggressively moving toward the fortress, while parrying any incoming arrow from «Ballista» with their muscles, caused the girls to shriek.

"Calm down, everyone. And stop screaming! I can't give commands in this noise!"

Riyana, the commander of 4th fortress, shouted, nevertheless the girl's shriek didn't stop. If this continues, her commands would be suppressed by the noise. But in a corner of her mind, she couldn't help but tremble at the fearsome strategy of their opponent; *to think they'd thought so much to flash muscles to disrupt the formation in the fortress.*

"The boy there! Ring the bell, and do it as hard as you can!"

"Y-Yes!"

The boy—he was the one who took notice of Machos before anyone—rang the bell with every ounce of his strength at the order.

A loud chime of the bell rang in the area, overpowering the shrieks, causing the girls to unconsciously halt.

Riyana was just waiting for this moment and hurriedly strained her voice, shouting.

"Stop the bell! Calm down everyone! Your screams are even making it harder to lead! First, take a deep breath, then begin with the plan Rina-san had told us. Confusion will lead us nowhere!"

"Y-you're right. Listen to Commander Riyana, everyone!"

With Riyana's voice finally getting through them, the girls somehow regained their bearing, even if a bit. And just in that moment, another piece of information dropped by.

Within a split second, all the girls lean towards the guardrails of the fortress. 

The earlier ruckus felt like a fleeting moment as the girls keenly watched for the said figure in the battlefield. Celestine was quite a celebrity among the academy girls for his handsome appearance, just alongside Zephyr. 

"H-Hey, do you all realise we're facing a grave situation?! Hurry up and get back to your positions!"

Riyana shouted. She was glad there were no more screams to hide her voice, but their inaction remained the same. Perhaps, because of Machos, they were unconsciously seeking that last strand of their support. 

"Opponents are about to enter the adjacent square shortly!"

"!! We're strapped huh. Alright, follow with casting debuffs first, boys! Rina-san had said «Brawny Warriosr» are weak to magic and debuffs!"

"Yes, ma'am!"

With the enemies almost about to crash on them, Riyana gave up on the girls for the time being, and instead tightened their formation with boys alone.

"—Now! Cast your debuffs!!"

"—Cursed Voodoo Doll!"

"—Mental Break!"

"—Blight Arrow!"

Following the signal, «String Puppet» had a cursed doll self-destructed, «Warlock» brought a suspicious eyeball and stared at it, the «Great Archer» shot an arrow that inflict «Blindness» when hitting the target, and the «Mad Scientist» released some weird purple radio waves capable of inducing strangeness in body.

A wave of debuffs hailed toward the incoming enemy, but—

Neither debuffs, nor abnormal status, apparently worked on «Brawny Warrior».

Of course, it became possible due to the «Health Blessing» from Lana which shields the Machos from abnormal status. However, that was mainly effective forabnormal conditions like blind or cursed, meanwhile the status reduction debuffs were defended via the help of Celestine.

"Sure enough, they started with debuffs huh? I was right to use it now."

"Fuhahahaha! Splendid, Celestine! Rest assured, we will pay for this gratitude with our effort!"

Alan exclaimed while flaunting his muscles.

With the two sides in an alternate square, the spell's effect had reduced quite a bit, however debuff would have still been applied. And Celestine, assuming that this scenario would be played out, had invoked his unique skill «A Moment of Ease for Everyone» in anticipation. 

The effect of unique skill was simple; to invalidate any negative effect for the allies in the surrounding. 

For a brief period, no sort of status reduction or ability hamper effect could affect the allies within its duration. And the importance of debuff immunity was lost on no one. Just in importance, it was definitely above many jobs. Even «Sage» Misato could only 'remove' the debuff, and not invalidate them.

In this moment,Machos were the incarnation of brute force against whom not even debuffs would work. This was another reason why Celestine was in command of Machos. 

And soon, when they're in adequate range, the Machos stripped all of their equipment, thought this reduced their agility, and crashed into the square of fortress. 

"!! Enemy has breached our square!!"

"Eeeek!"

"Don't back down! Take the advantage of the fortress, and blast them with ranged attacks! Attaaack!!"

"I-I'm attacking!"

And so, a myriad of attacks hailed from the fortress. Plus, with the enemies already within the same square, the barrage of attack retained its original might.

There's no way even those buffed Machos could handle the array of attack, or so was the indescribable hope lurking within everyone in the fortress, but their opponents used a, err, rather bizarre tactic to dash away all their hopes.

"It's our turn, boys! Time for «Muscle Roller»!"

As soon their guildmaster Alan signaled, all the Machos arranged themselves into one row. 

Then, they encircled their two arms, thick as log, into the neck of adjacent members in right and left order.

"Muscles!"

—Thwack.

"Muscles!"

—Thwack.

"«Muscle Roller»!!"

As soon as they're ready, Alan loudly called out the name of the technique. Their appearance was like they're going to participate in the three-legg—no, elevel-legged race. 

In Machos words, it was their 'muscle union.' And for the majority of people, it was an accursed technique that filled them with the trauma.

"Uoooo!!"

The Machos raised their war cry in unison and together, they charged toward the fortress. 

—Thump-Thump-Thump-Thump-Thump.

The ground rattled as the sound of their footsteps, and 'omen of disaster' for many, echoed. It was like seeing a giant truck brute forcing their way.

"Eeeek!"

"T-They're here!"

"I-It's the Muscle Rollerrrrr!"

"Attack, attack! Do not let them approach, attack, attack, attack!!"

Promptly, another slew of attacks flew toward Machos. However, neither could budge the mighty march of «Muscle Roller».

Since they're basically supporting each other, even if an attack did land on either of the members, the march wasn't interrupted. Though to begin with, they'd boasted such high status that mere one or two couldn't do anything. 

In a way, their tactic was truly akin to force of nature, challenging even the impossible. 

Furthermore, any inflicted damage was recovered by Lana's continuous healing, and long range healing assistance, turning them invincible.

"A-attacks aren't doing anything?!"

"T-They're healing?!"

"Kyaaa!!"

"They're not stopping! They're almost upon us!"

A wave of terror washed over the fortress, eliciting screams. 

And at last, facing off the hail of attacks, Machos had arrived at the fortress.

"Let's give them a warm greeting, y'all! Time to see which is durable; our muscles, or the fort!"

Alan shouted and inspired the members to bring out their 100%. 

Then, taking a stance akin to charge in rugby, the Machos rammed themselves against the fortress.

—*Craaaashhh*

The fortress shook from the impact.

The staggering impact caused a series of cries to ensue as many members found themselves losing balance, and falling down. 

The impact reached Riyana too, however she somehow grit through by hanging on to the guardrail, and looked at the situation. Her face turned pale as soon as she confirmed it.

"Nooo, the durability of durability is going down!?"

Just like the barricades, the fortress was a giant 'bulward' in itself. Of course, given its peculiar nature, it also had the durability value a.k.a HP bar. The fortress would remain standing as long as the said HP bar remained. The durability of the fortress was actually high, rivaling even those of Big Castle, base, or strongholds. 

Yet, despite the numerous strengthening of the fortress in the meantime, the single attack just now shaved off nearly 20% of the durability of it. It was clear the fortress couldn't afford multiple hits.

And this was the true strength of «Brawny Warrior»; the strength of [STR 1800 x 5 Member] combined. 

They're like the road rollers, and anyone who accidentally dared come in their way was guaranteed an exit ticket. 

Needless to say, It was apparent why a lot of students always dreaded this fearsome tactic.
