I always considered myself normal, or at least that's what I thought... But everything changed since I arrived in this neighborhood, where I started noticing things I hadn't before: things like ghosts flying or monsters walking that I tried to tell others about. However, no one listened to me; they said I had too much "imagination" and that nothing was real, that there were no monsters under the bed, or that I shouldn't be afraid of the dark. But as time passed, I understood more and more... how wrong they were...

Since we moved after Dad's new marriage, that's when I noticed the first unusual thing. Specifically, what was happening right next door, in what I initially thought was a normal family, without noticing the anomaly at first. Starting with the boy with silver hair and white eyes who was a bit younger than me. That boy, despite being younger than me, did things like cleaning, washing, or cooking everything at an astonishing speed that made it seem as if he teleported from one place to another. He also talked to himself, yelling into the void for no reason. But the most terrifying thing was the expression he made when he watched a truck pass by, as if he was seeing the enemy of his entire life.

But even his mother was strange, because although at first I thought she was an elegant woman with a mature and refined charm, the reality turned out to be completely different. When I accidentally peeked through the window to take a look, I discovered her naked, lying on the sofa scratching her butt like an old man while burping after chugging a can of what I now know was alcohol.

.... The shock was so great that it ended the secret feelings I had for her, leading to the swift end of my first love in that place. Since then, every time I peeked, I always found her naked or wearing a loose shirt, smoking with a delinquent attitude. The other woman who lived next door at that time was an expressionless maid with a terrifying, empty, doll-like gaze who did all sorts of perverted things that no one else noticed. I was even able to see her do something like lift a large rock effortlessly.

I couldn't bear the fear of what might be living next door, so I ran to ask for help, warning about the danger... But no one believed me... it was as if they couldn't notice what was happening, even when I tried to show them, only to be stopped by a horrifying sensation of paralysis, as if something enveloped my body and I was being watched by a snake. So, terrified, I could only curl up, trembling, preparing for whatever might happen. And so time passed, and strange things continued to happen as the number of people in the house next door increased, and I also started having nightmares that I always forgot upon waking. What caused them? Even to this day, I don't know.

Was it my fear of the neighbors? Or maybe it was because I started noticing things I hadn't before: things like ghosts or monsters that no one else could see... In the end, I ended up distrusting my surroundings, isolating myself from others. And in an attempt to understand what was around me, I started writing a diary in which I wrote down information about all the paranormal things I encountered, diligently watching the neighbors to understand them better, discovering in the process how truly dangerous they were... But at the same time, it was during that period that the nightmares stopped when I woke up peacefully in my bed without remembering when or what I was doing before going to bed. Or at least that was until I found my diary in the yard, in which a word was written that, when pronounced, let me enter another place through the windows. That place was full of incredible things taken directly from what I only believed was fantasy until that moment.

From then on, I began to delve deeper into my curiosity for the unknown, writing down everything I could find or discover in my diary, which ultimately left me almost completely isolated, except for my family, being considered strange by everyone else...

"Mmm... This presence...?! Hey kid, wait a moment!"

"... huh?"

But it was there that I met the "professor," an old man who until then had a bad reputation as an eccentric professor who said things about being a witch or that this wasn't his body, which is why everyone else considered him crazy. However, he knew about many things I had written in my diary and even things I hadn't noticed myself, becoming the "professor" for me ever since...

According to the "professor," this was not his world, as he used to be a great figure in his original world where he dominated all kinds of magic and knowledge, even being in charge, but after an unexpected accident, he ended up losing his body, arriving in this world as nothing more than a soul. The "professor," trying to survive, seemed to have no choice but to occupy the nearest empty body after arriving in this world, which turned out to be the one he uses now.

"I need your help to return to my world."

"But... I... I'm just a normal human..."

"No, that's not true. I can feel incredible potential in you. Believe me, there's a reason they put me in charge of an entire school in my original world."

It was through those words that for the first time someone else placed their expectations on me, that I...

"...If you think I can do it... Then I'll try!"

For the first time, I tried to intervene, forming together the paranormal investigation club, which more and more people joined for their own reasons. And one day...

«Beware of the fox.»

A mysterious contact began contacting us, sending strange messages along with important information about all sorts of things like the "possession drug" or the "brainwashing app," calling themselves "X."

... Now I feel like I've gotten myself into something much bigger than I ever imagined, without knowing what my role is or how it will end. But even though I don't understand it, and every time I feel like giving up, a blurry but unmistakably heroic image always appears in my mind that motivates me to continue. And now... that's what gives me strength to persist in the face of the scene before me...

It was a dark place, and I felt a cold that chilled my bones, while also feeling like I was in my bed, but not really. All the while, I saw the unfamiliar scenery around me, where shadows danced everywhere like monsters calling for "mom" in a fire-ravaged scenario, where screams of despair and horror resonated. I couldn't speak, I couldn't look away, I couldn't even move, until suddenly a light shone. But it wasn't a normal light; it was like a shimmering aurora, illuminating everything with multiple colors, followed by two more flashes that covered everything.

(Crack)

And then, a small crack formed in the air, as if it were a spiderweb on glass, as it grew and expanded, covering everything until finally everything began to collapse... The ground, the sky, the buildings, everything blurred until it disappeared into strange colors that vanished in an instant.

"We failed..."

"?!"

When I heard that familiar voice, my field of vision suddenly shifted to show a face I immediately recognized as the "professor."

"... You must fix this, cough, cough, cough...!!"

It was only when I looked closer that I noticed he was wounded, on his knees on the ground, bleeding from his abdomen...

"Haa... Haaaa... I don't have much time left... You must hurry, go back and change this!"

"... How can I do it?! Time was compressed!! Didn't I tell you?!"

At that moment, my mouth moved on its own, saying words I didn't understand, full of frustration and resignation, as if it had given up on everything.

"... You can still do it... after all, you have the ██████ you just have to use it..."

With the words spoken by the "professor," a series of meaningless images flooded my mind at once. A blurry face crying without tears, a clock turning backward, a tree suddenly growing and then withering in a second. Everything happened so fast, as if my mind were a movie someone was speeding up uncontrollably. The air felt heavy, as if I were trying to breathe water. And time... time ceased to exist. Seconds felt like centuries and centuries like seconds. Colors blended, sounds distorted.

Everything was chaos, a silent explosion where reality shattered before my eyes. Only I remained, floating in nothingness, waiting for that darkness to swallow me too, while I heard the echo of the "professor's" voice resonating in my mind:

"Please, Fionn, change this ending... We're counting on you."

With that, everything went dark...

"AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!"

And then I woke up with my heart pounding so hard it felt like it would burst out of my chest as I saw the familiar ceiling of my room.

"What was that...?"

I immediately reached for my phone, noticing that it was late at night, with the date about to change from July first, as I tried to calm down.

"Haaaa... Haa... It was just a dream... Just a dream... Right?"

I said, trying to convince myself... Even as the sound of that last echo resonated throughout my body, as if a warning or a broken melody told me that something big, something terrible, was approaching.
