Chapter 57: Chapter: 57, Dream Coronation
"Wouldn’t it be appropriate to let the owner of the Artifact hand it over, Your Majesty?"
Emperor Ray stopped his hand in midair as he thought it through. It indeed didn’t make sense that he was handing over an artifact had no ownership of. And it would indeed be appropriate for Dainsleif to crown Hestia with the Artifact.
Someone tried to object but Emperor Ray stopped him and said, "You’re right. It’s indeed Dreamer Dainsleif who should present the award."
He stepped aside, signaling Dainsleif to go through the proceedings. Dainsleif was unwilling as even if he can forgive them, he didn’t want things to get messy later on and now he even has PTSD even thinking about involving himself with them.
But he really cannot reject the Emperor as it would be rude for his majesty to let him do something and he refuses which doesn’t even harm him that much to do.
He reluctantly walked towards the place everyone was awaiting for the crown. Hestia looked at him, almost in a trance as if she was seeing a dream in the middle of daylight. Her eyes barely left him as if looking at him felt like honey, sweet, natural and unmatched.
This made Dainsleif a bit uncomfortable. He quickly walked towards Hestia. His steps were fast to whoever was watching him, like he was in a rush for something despite having nothing to do all day.
But for Hestia, the world seemed to have slowed down. Every step Dainsleif took towards her, she watched and savored them to the fullest. If only she had comprehended the ’Law of Time’, she might’ve been able to stop time and watch him all she wanted for the rest of her life.
Too bad the ’Law of Time’ is practically impossible to comprehend.
Hestia’s mind was filled with the fantasies she had ever imagined about this day. Despite the lack of a nation, citizen and a formal title, she still wanted to savor this moment all she possibly can. Her heart beat loudly, almost like roaring as Dainsleif approached her closer.
The face in front of her was replaced by the gentle, warm and doting face full of love for her from her imagination. But in reality, Dainsleif’s face was dark with unspoken and well-hidden nervousness.
He wanted to quickly finish handing the crown of the goblin king over and be done with it.
He didn’t wait for the other to talk and swiftly put the golden crown with five emerald gems on her silky gray haired head. He did that pretty quickly, but for Hestia, it was a completely different experience far from reality.
She saw Dain, her Dain, gently fixing her loose hair strands. Looking directly at her eyes with the unrequited love and adoration, he gently placed the crown onto her head. Her Delusions were now reaching a completely different level.
Previously, she loved him deeply, to the point she could do anything to be by his side. Then they were summoned into this world, and her goal changed. She then wanted to fulfill his dream, of a peaceful life. So she wanted to save this world from the Invasion. Her sole source and reason for fighting for this world was nothing but him. But, at some point fighting those demons and drowning in the praises of the people, she got distracted from her true goal.
She became selfish and self-centered. Her life, body, will and even existences, which were supposed to be completely dedicated to Dainsleif, wanted to be free and live on their own for once. Thus that was the biggest sin she ever committed, to be free from Dainsleif.
And that rebellion cost her, the life of Dain once, whose life couldn’t be compensated even if millions of her selves were to compensate with their lives.
But this second chance would be different. She would never be selfish or rebel ever again. She would dedicate her life to keep him happy, even if it means being despised by him for eternity, she would endure, accept or even start to love it.
Now, in this world of Imarion, the sole reason for her to exist is to make sure Dainsleif would be happy, no matter what that might cost her.
Until she sees Dainsleif taking his last breath in a peaceful environment and peaceful day, would then she let herself be greedy once again and follow him to the next life through the cycle of reincarnation.
She got out of her daze and came back to reality. When most of the female students were gossiping beside her in a big circle, it was time for a break as most of them were tired and hurt. Someone noticed her red cheeks and asked mischievously, "Hey~ why are you blushing so hard? Has someone special awakened in your heart?"
"N-Nothing like that, I just think it’s too hot in here." Hestia gave an excuse and stood up to leave, her crown given to her by Dainsleif for him still placed on her head.
The girls left alone looked at her distancing figure and asked themselves, ’Just why is she acting weird all of a sudden?’

Dainsleif was walking back to his quarters as the events he was mandatory to be in were all finished. Now, he just wanted to move out and never looked back at those things he was curious to know and now had done it.
Since he had handed over Gura, the goblin girl, Crown of the goblin king and...? That should be all. Since he had already done verifying related to them he could possibly do. Now, there was nothing he could do to have any more connection with them.
Now, all they have to do is keep getting stronger and resist the invasion from the demons. While he can just watch TV, use phone... they are not available in this world. But anyway, it should’ve been the end of his first arc with slight development.
But, as Fate would have it, nothing ever goes as expected...
