Chapter 55 -: 55, Surrender and Aldric VS Duron

Chapter 55: Chapter: 55, Surrender and Aldric VS Duron

Healers quickly approached them and quickly fed the two agonizing people the mana recovery potions. As they drank the liquid down their throats, a sense of relief washed over them and their expression became normal.

They quickly lost their consciousness and their body relaxed, finally the pain had subsided. The healers quickly took them to a separate corner for rest. As their physical condition and mana veins were highly exhausted, they were deemed unable for the fights ahead.

After that, every one of the Blessed started whispering among themselves. They were shocked to see the fight between two people be this intense. It was almost like fights in those anime’s, but just weaker in visuals.

The officials of the Kaiser Empire and even Emperor Ray were impressed. It was the first time they had witnessed such intense battle from some transcendent who weren’t even of the Adept rank. Their hope on these Blessed had just improved by a notch.

After Kieran and Caspian, it was time for Penelope and Azaria to fight, but they both stood up and announced they would not fight and give up here.

The officials tried to convince them but they weren’t going to change their mind. It was simple, if they were to seriously fight each other, the fight would extend to days and even weeks. And it was already decided that Hestia would be the one to take the Crown, so they didn’t want to waste their time on that.

As the two of them had decided to not fight ahead, there were only three contenders for the crown of the goblin king. So the officials decide to have the fight between Duron and Aldric be the semi-finals and the fight between Hestia and the winner of the semi-finals.

Soon, the discussed thing was announced. And according to the arrangements, one of the servants went to Hestia and asked if she would be participating in the finals. Hestia replied affirmatively and the servant left, taking her words to the officials.

They were glad that Hestia wouldn’t surrender like the other two and was going to fight. This fight was not only to decide which six and which champion would receive the skills and the crown. It was also for the reason to raise the Blessed people’s morale and give them the reason of achieving greater power or overcoming their opponents.

It would also make them try harder and give their best to become stronger, so they can also contend with the one at the top at some point. Their determination is what would fuel their hard work.

Soon, Aldric and Duron stepped onto the arena, holding their weapons in their hands. Duron was excited and wary as this fight would give him the chance to fight for the Crown, which he can use to propose to Azaria. But also because the last two enemies were none other than two people given the title of ’Hero’.

He was definitely not completely sure he can win, but he has to give it his all or he might lose this chance.

The referee whistles the start of the semi-finals of this newbie tournament. The Blessed students were excited but they were pretty much sure who would win.

Aldric was nonchalant, confident in his victory. Duron positioned himself, ready for any attacks Aldric might throw his way.

Aldric looked at him, his smile unfaltering. And suddenly, his figure vanished. The Blessed were shocked but the officials were not, as Aldric’s wasn’t that fast that they would not follow. But that was completely different for the Blessed, who seemed to think he teleported right beside Duron.

Duron was ready, the moment he sensed something amiss he moved where his instincts led him. He dodged an attack and was shocked to see Aldric standing right beside him.

He couldn’t understand why, if Aldric was this fast, why didn’t he finish the previous fights quickly, as except him and some others, none of the Blessed had stepped into level 10. And why he didn’t use this level of speed against Caspian.

And he was right. Aldric intentionally hid his speed from them. Yes he could’ve easily finished the previous fights, but he didn’t have the intention to waste too much of his strength before. But this time was different. After defeating Duron, he would go on to fight against Hestia. Then he can show her his capabilities and give her the victory easily.

Even if not her complete heart, he can still have a favorable impression in her eyes. And then, it was only a matter of time he won her heart little by little, one step at a time.

Seeing that Duron had dodged his attack, Aldric’ smile stiffened a little. But he didn’t change his expression. Instead, he enveloped his sword in his golden sword intent. He didn’t let Duron get stable and swiftly swung a sword slash at him.

Duron was unstable but quickly used his greatsword to try and block the slash. The sword intent rushed at him and violently crashed into the blade, but it didn’t dissipate. It continued with its charge and attacked the blade, clearly intending to pass right through the object in front of it.

Duron struggled to keep the sword steady as it was shaking violently. While Duron was caught up on that, Aldric appeared right beside him and punched him straight in the stomach, sending him flying away.

The greatsword was sliced in two and the golden intent dissipated with Aldric’s will. He had secured his victory to the finals, but wasn’t that thrilled.

He glanced at where Hestia was sitting, hoping for a positive reaction. But Hestia was only looking at the arena with narrowed eyes and impatience. She couldn’t wait to finally get the crown and wanted to jump right at the arena.

Aldric’s eyes darkened as he noticed Dainsleif sitting right beside Hestia. Anger and resentment quickly filled his hopeful heart and the semi-final was announced to have ended.
