Chapter 53: Chapter: 53, Second Round (part_3)
Soon, Caspian and Jack stepped onto the arena, both holding their swords.
As the fight began, Caspian was pretty calm and walked towards Jack in a leisurely manner, his sword still not out of its sheath. He was pretty confident he could defeat Jack.
Jack, on the other hand, was pretty cautious. He had already witnessed Caspian giving Aldric a hard time in their conflict earlier. So, he knew that he cannot win, but that doesn’t mean he would admit defeat early. He would try his best to drag the fight as long as he can.
Jack just stood where he was, waiting for Caspian to make the first move. He stayed alarmed all the time with his shadow skills ready for casting at any second.
Caspian quickly realized what Jack was trying to do, but he was too bored to play along. He wanted the Crown proposed by Dainsleif as it would increase his strength and boost his leveling speed.
Caspian leaped forward, his figure so fast it was almost out of everyone’s focus. Jack was prepared and spent a large amount of mana to form a shadow barrier with spikes as sharp as needles protecting him.
Caspian was taken aback as this move was out of his imagination. But he didn’t panic and controlled his speed to stop right before the shadow needles could touch his chest. He was stunned for a second because of the sudden stop when Jack made his first move.
He quickly dissolved the shadow barrier as it was too mana consuming and rushed at Caspian holding his sword, ready to strike. But before he could, a kick landed straight at his chest as he sent flying from the force.
Just the kick alone from Caspian was enough to cause great pain for Jack, but Caspian didn’t stop there. He rushed at Jack, who was unable to respond quickly and punched him hard on his forehead.
The force of that punch was so strong that it knocked Jack unconscious.
Caspian achieved his victory with that last punch. Healers went to collect the unconscious Jack while Caspian returned to his seat. The fight was over and the next fight was about to begin.

As arranged, Duron and Isla stepped onto the arena. Duron held his great sword tightly over his shoulder, looking like a great warrior. In contrast, Isla looked like a maiden in distress as her brows furrowed and her expression darkened.
She needed to be careful as it was pretty obvious that none of her physical attacks would cause much damage to Duron. She needed to make sure every hit she takes would return the same damage to her opponent.
As their fight began, Duron prepared his great sword and charged ahead at Isla. Isla quickly manipulated the blood from her pouches and condensed them into sharp blood needles that were the sizes of one’s palm.
She threw them at Duron with the maximum strength she could muster. Duron, seeing the blood needles charging towards him, quickly moved his great sword right in front of him to block the needles from hitting him.
The needles crashed into the great sword and blood splattered around, dying the surface of the great sword in crimson with some blood staining Duron’s face and armor. He was about to rush again when he suddenly halted.
’Szzzhz!’ a sizzling sound entered his ears as a burning pain shot through his face. He looked at his weapon and saw the blood staining it boiling intensely. He looked at his armor and as expected, the blood on it was also showing the same reaction. It was none other than the effect of Isla’s one of the innate skills, ’Blood Boil’.
He touched his face and felt a few drops of blood causing the burning sensation. Anger flared as Duron was afraid his facial look would get ruined. He wanted his face to be flawless for him to pursue Azaria. If it was indeed damaged to the point of recovery being impossible, he can never forgive Isla in this life.
In his anger, Duron charged at Isla without caring about any defenses. He ignored every other attack Isla threw at him and directly slammed his great sword on her with all the strength he could get up.
Isla was sent flying right out of the arena and her body crashed onto the seat nearby the officials. Healers quickly got her up and were about to get her away when Duron quickly appeared beside them, requesting them see his face.
One of the healers obliged and examined him before saying that the blood only caused the burning sensation and didn’t cause any physical harm.
Duron won in their fight as the next fight was about to begin.
Aldric and Grace both appeared in the arena after Duron and Isla were taken away. Before the referee could announce the start of the fight, Grace interrupted, "I surrender!" she announced and calmly walked back to her seat.
Everyone was dazed for a moment before they quickly regained their composure. Aldric looked smug as the referee announced his effortless victory.
And this formally announced the end of the second round. Now it was time for the third round to begin. The six winners of the second round were ’Sage Penelope’, ’Dark Knight Azaria’, ’Sage Kieran’, ’Dark Knight Caspian’, ’Berserker Duron’ and ’Hero Aldric’.
They will be the ones who will fight in the third round and also the most excitedly anticipated fights for all of their fellow classmates. Everyone was curious as to who might come out as the top.
After an hour of recuperation and restoring stamina and mana, the officials announced the battle routes for the third round. They are,
"’Sage Kieran’ and ’Dark Knight Caspian’"
"’Dark Knight Azaria’ and ’Sage Penelope’"
"’Berserker Duron’ and ’Hero Aldric’"
As the announcement was made, everyone was excited as to which three might come out victorious. The third round began with Kieran and Caspian both stepping onto the arena at their peak conditions...
