Regression of the Genius Extra
Chapter 51 -: 51, Second Round

Chapter 51: Chapter: 51, Second Round

As the end of the first round of the tournament was announced, ’Alchemist Gabriel’, one of the 30 summoned Blessed, looked at his three companions who had received classes that were completely of utility category with no way for offensive roles.

’Tinker Fiona’ was sitting right beside him. Her A-rank Class was mainly focused on repairing, upgrading and hacking the magical technology of this world. It was indeed a very useful class as the technology of this world was quite advanced despite the world still living in the medieval age.

It was a weird combination indeed, but the technologies were also bizarre and powerful. Upgrading and hacking them would provide a great advantage against other local forces of this world. But the most useful ability was none other than repairing them.

It would save so much excess time that other people spend on repairing the said devices.

Beside Fiona was sitting ’Vow Keeper Daisy’. Her A-rank class did only one thing, anyone who makes a vow in her presence is bound to fulfill them. Going against the vow, the person would receive the wrath of the World Will.

Their strength and enhancement gained through Tribulation would regress and many other things that would be despairing for anyone of this world.

Currently she can only influence the vow of some at most one tribulation higher than her. As she was far from withstanding her first tribulation, she can only affect people below level 200, the ones who have yet to pass their second Tribulation.

Her exp gaining was also a bit complex but much more efficient than the others. She just has to witness people make a vow and the exp she would receive would depend on the level of the vow maker.

Aside from them, ’Artificer Caleb’ was sitting right beside Gabriel. His A-rank class was good with the ability to create artifacts.

But the most unique trait was the S-rank innate skill he awakened. It was the main ability of an Artificer, ’Artifact Creation’. First he needed a vessel that would become an artifact, and then he could pay a certain price like mana or something else in exchange for the vessel to become an artifact it was most suitable for.

And last but not the least, ’Alchemist Gabriel’ with his A-rank class was sitting there among the ones you’d call basically useless in the middle of a battlefield. None of them had any chance of getting physically stronger unless they start to learn the mystical arts of this world that are mostly external.

But they were not something they can learn in just the estimated two years the demon invasion is supposed to happen. If they had Dainsleif’s Red attribute [Prodigy], then maybe they could have learned them enough besides improving their class, but alas it was a pity.

Gabriel’s own class was indeed what anyone would expect, making potions with extraordinary effect. But it was much more.

He can also play with many natural things that can also be described as natural laws. Like the dead cannot come back to life, but he can make them, only if those dead things don’t have souls. Souls were an aspect out of the range of his class.

But that didn’t stop him from performing many kinds of creations that an average person would consider as a miracle. And he can perform many such miracles, almost like a mage playing with the laws of this world, like a god, but at the weakest level that can only seem like miracles in front of mortals. In front of the Mystic’s and demigods, these tricks would only be mere child-play. Unless obviously, he also touches their level.

Out of the original 30 Blessed, four of them with utility aspects didn’t participate in the tournament. Dainsleif sitting a bit far from them was deemed too weak to participate, while Hestia, who awkwardly sat beside Dainsleif, was elevated directly to the semi-finals as the instructors announced her to be strong enough for the exemption.

Unknown to most of them, Azaria and Penelope would’ve also received the same treatment, but the two of them didn’t like that, so they decided to fight.

Now, out of the 24 who fought, only 12 went to the second round where only 6 would remain. In the third round, only 3 would remain and then Hestia would join the fight in the semi-finals where only two would stay standing. Then the final would select the person who would win the first place and claim the Crown for themselves.

After about an hour of rest and with everyone drinking the rejuvenating and mana regeneration potions that would clean any type of physical strain and completely restore their mana, they all prepared for the Second Round of the tournament to begin.

Saintess Lily again stepped onto the stage and announced, "Honored Blessed, you have all performed exceptionally and your growth is indeed faster than we had anticipated. Those who have already been qualified for the second round, please be prepared.

And those who were not qualified please work harder as many opportunities like this would require you to get what you deserve with force. I don’t know what your previous world was like, but I am confident that this world would be nothing but violent compared to yours.

Despite not being as cruel as the demons, this world still possesses an ample amount of cruelty that you might find unpleasant. So, individual strength is the only companion you can put all your trust on. While team strength is important, without individual strength, you will at the end, become a burden."

She paused for a second as she let her words be digested before speaking again, "So, Let the Second round begin!"

Everyone clapped. The four utility classes also did, but with a dark face. Saintess Lily’s words clearly implied that they would either have to prove themselves to be useful and not become a burden, or they have to learn the mystical arts and become individually strong enough to become a burden.

Gabriel’s eyes narrowed as an unsettling feeling crept into his heart, making him worry for something inevitable.
