Reborn: The Return of the Villainous Mr. Liu -
Chapter 1081 - 1081: My wife
The same day, Jin dropped a visit to the Bureau. He stepped into the visitor's room and saw Yuze already in his seat. The expression on his face took a complete one-eighty degree turn.
Jin took his own seat and said, "From the look on your face, you seem very dissatisfied."
Yuze didn't say a word.
"Maybe, you weren't expecting to see me."
He said nothing.
"Or maybe you were expecting Alix to come?"
A shade turned darker in his eyes.
"I honestly applaud your plan. Despite being locked up in jail, you managed to use Wang Xia and almost brought Ren Designs to its ruin. Did you think that getting me arrested would render her helpless?"
His face still didn't hold any expression but beneath the separating glass window, his fists clenched.
Jin tipped his head to the side. "But you underestimated her a little too much."
"Come to the point," he snapped.
"Ouch," he smiled. "Were you expecting Alix to come all crying and begging you to withdraw the illegal tax investigation? But you underestimated me a little too much as well. But at the same time, we underestimated you too. You refused to stay quiet. So congratulations, you will be getting moved to a brand new home."
Yuze froze.
"A place of confinement where you wouldn't be able to pull the sheniganians you just did. No more puppets to use. Complete isolation."
"Bullshit! There's no evidence against me!" He screamed.
"You know in the underworld, I just need to give the right kind of motivation for people to talk," he smiled callously. "Surprisingly, people don't like torture so they tend to spill out their secrets - Including Wang Xia, who you used to frame me, her father who you used to frame Ren Designs all the way in Paris and then the fraudulent audit investigation. People were quick to spill your name."
Jin didn't stay any further and got up to leave. "So congratulations once again for your new home."
He then said, "Oh but you forgot to congratulate me."
Jin pulled out a small red booklet that made Yuze's face go ashen. Then a storm broke out.
"What the fuck is that!?"
"The reason for you to congratulate me. And Alix. Actually in a way, I should thank you. You gave us the last push we needed. Anyway, enjoy your new home far away from me and my wife."
Jin heard a string of loud and sinful curses thrown at him at the top of the voice.
Yijun, who was waiting outside, grimaced. "Did you really have to trigger him like that?"
"He has caused us enough problems that I deserve to see his contorted face at least once."
"Hmm, I agree~" he grinned. "Also, congratulations."
Jin was quiet for a moment. "I know you are angry at me. Shui is your cousin, after all."
"I treat her as my own sister which is why I'm not angry at you, Bro. I would have been if you had married her out of pressure or guilt. I would have even punched your face. She doesn't deserve a marriage and partner like that."
"Very far from it," his gaze dimmed.
"...How is she doing?" He asked after a long, long moment despite knowing that it was a shameless question to ask.
"Completely buried in her paintings. There will be upcoming art exhibitions in many cities and she'll be participating in each one of them. She is swamped with work and her body smells of paint," he frowned.
Jin couldn't help but wonder if burying herself in so much work was just a way to distract herself, just like he had done so in the past four months when Alix had cut off contact with him.
"But don't worry," he waved his hand once. "She said she will drop by your home soon. To get entertained."
"Entertained?"
He cleared his throat. "Look, my sis is very kind."
"I know that."
"She is not a sadist by any means."
He was dumbfounded. "Why is the conversation going in this direction?"
"Because she wants to see your wife's…struggle. She personally thinks it'll be very entertaining. I don't know why."
"..."
It was natural that Yijun didn't know because he wasn't aware of the past or the history. He didn't know Yahui's dynamics with the Liu family which made the current situation certainly…unique to say the least. That was why he failed to understand why it would be hard for Alix to settle in the family and why Shui felt it would be so entertaining.
Yijun shook his head. "I don't know what's happening between you three but you and Alix are certainly bringing out a…new side in my dearest sister."
Jin averted his accusing gaze, knowing fully well he was to be blamed for that.
He coughed. "I will take my leave. See ya."
—
It was dinner time when Jin returned home, only to be attacked by his grandfather.
"It's dinner time! It's dinner time!" He zealously exclaimed at the top of his lungs.
Jin threw him a dirty glare and covered his ears. "I know that."
"But your wife doesn't know that so she's not out yet," he pouted.
"...It will take her some time, Grandpa. You know that."
"But if she doesn't come, then how will she know that I am so super chill! She is missing out on all the fun."
He grimaced. "Only you feel that stealing food from other people's plates is fun. Anyway, I will still check but don't hold any hopes."
As expected, Alix didn't come out for dinner and stayed back in her room. She was cooped up under her blanket the whole time and Jin knew she was just pretending to sleep.
He cleared his throat.
No response.
He did it once again.
No response.
"Nobody is forcing you to have dinner with everyone but you should at least eat. You cannot skip out on your own dinner."
"It's my stomach so yes I can," her voice finally came out but she didn't pull away the blanket.
"And you are my wife which gives me a reasonable right to worry about your health, so no you can't."
Alix immediately pulled off the blanket and glared. "Who is your wife again?"
"There's some good fatty fish and leafy vegetables in your dinner."
"So?"
"It helps with short term memory loss."
