Reborn in the 80s: She Rewrites Life with Radiance -
Chapter 116: Really, Really Like
Chapter 116: Chapter 116: Really, Really Like
The next day, Gu Yiyi woke up around nine.
Today, she wasn’t planning to go to the store either. Yesterday, she took three of the new down jackets at cost price.
She planned to send them to Ye Qian and her two sisters-in-law.
Since Jingying sells youthful women’s clothing, the clothes in the store are just suitable for the three of them to wear.
Later, she also wanted to go shopping.
Buy some clothes for other family members and send them all together.
She took the clothes to the department store to browse around, but carrying three pieces of clothing was too much trouble.
In the end, she left the clothes at a store and began her crazy shopping spree.
She kept dropping off what she bought at the store, running back and forth three times before she stopped.
When she returned the last time, Li Yitian had arrived at the store.
"What are you doing? Moving house?"
Li Yitian was a bit baffled looking at the pile in front of him.
"Yitian, you’re just in time. Can you help me take these to the post office later? I want to mail them home."
Gu Yi had been thinking along the way, if nothing else worked, she’d ask for some help from the store staff.
She didn’t expect to see Li Yitian upon her return, which made her very happy.
"I guess I’m destined to be a laborer, huh? I just walked in and got caught by you."
Li Yitian said with a laugh.
"That just means I’m lucky."
Gu Yi replied with a smile.
Thankfully, Li Yitian had a car, so he loaded Gu Yi’s things into it.
Then drove to the post office.
"You could probably buy these things over there. With all the stuff you’re sending, the postage alone will be a fortune."
Li Yitian thought there was really no need to buy all these, it would be better just to send money.
"The styles of clothes here are nice, and you can’t find them back home. Besides, it’s the thought that counts; they don’t lack money now either."
Gu Yi was most satisfied with this aspect.
Both families were doing well, so she didn’t need to worry about them.
Now she’s in B City. Unlike before when she was with everyone, sending things was easy.
Now she could only make calls occasionally, and as the season was changing, she thought of buying some new styles for everyone to make them happy.
"Alright then."
Although Li Yitian still couldn’t agree, he didn’t say much else.
At the post office, Gu Yi explained the purpose of their visit, and the staff came over to pack the items.
Gu Yi deliberately set aside two bags of clothes.
"Aren’t you mailing these?"
Li Yitian pointed at the two bags and asked.
"No need, those are for Ye Hao."
Gu Yi glanced at him and replied.
Once the post office staff had packed everything.
Gu Yi wrote both families’ addresses, paid, and left with Li Yitian.
"Where are you heading now?"
Li Yitian asked.
"I need to catch a bus to the military base."
"Let me take you to the station then."
Li Yitian took the things from Gu Yi’s hands and headed towards his car.
"What’s up, did your mom set you up for another blind date?"
Seeing Li Yitian’s low spirits, Gu Yi asked casually.
She knew a bit about Li Yitian’s blind dates and the girl he met last time.
Thinking about his mom coming by yesterday, she probably expected him to have brought some girl to the store. Seeing it was her, Gu Yi, she must have been disappointed. Did she arrange another date today?
"No, I clarified things with my mom yesterday. But sometimes, when I see my brother and Brother Ye Hao, I think getting married early seems nice. Brother Ye Hao always has you in mind, and my family loves my brother a lot too, but that can’t replace the love of a partner."
Li Yitian sometimes wondered why he hadn’t met someone he fancied.
"So that’s what you’ve been thinking about. Honestly, why the rush? You’re handsome, capable, and come from a good family. If you haven’t met someone, it’s just that fate hasn’t arrived yet."
Gu Yi thought it made sense they hadn’t settled down yet. Given their advantages, even if they weren’t picky, wouldn’t their parents have some standards too?
"Sometimes, family background can also be a burden for us."
Li Yitian was silent for a while, then suddenly said.
Hearing this, Gu Yi wondered if there was some sort of rich family feud.
But seeing Li Yitian’s reluctance to talk further, she didn’t press the matter.
Upon arriving at the military base, Gu Yi first took the clothes she bought for Ye Hao home, then hurried out to buy some groceries.
She had been shopping all day and hadn’t had time to buy food.
When she returned with the groceries, she ran into Li Dongxiang.
Probably because Li Dongxiang learned a lesson from last time, she hadn’t openly clashed with Gu Yi since.
She rolled her eyes at Gu Yi and brushed past her.
No one was causing trouble, Gu Yi was happy and didn’t bother her.
After dinner that evening, Gu Yi took out the clothes she bought for Ye Hao to try on.
Two down jackets, one long black and one short navy blue.
Two pairs of identical black pants.
"I bought the same pants; both jackets match. I originally wanted to get you some shoes, but there wasn’t enough time; next time."
Gu Yi held the pants up against Ye Hao as she spoke.
"It’s not cold enough for these down jackets yet. Besides, I only wear them on vacation; I don’t have time to wear them on regular days. Maybe I should just keep one set and return the other."
Ye Hao trained daily at the base, so he didn’t usually feel cold. Plus, he’d heard from other soldiers about the jackets.
They’re quite expensive.
Even though Gu Yi earned well, he didn’t want her to spend so much, especially on him. If it was for something she wanted, he’d have no objections.
"No need to return them; they’re bought already. It’s fine now, but it will turn cold eventually; keep them ready for then. Try both coats on, let’s see how they look."
Knowing Gu Yi wasn’t going to return them, Ye Hao tried on the clothes and spun around for her.
Ye Hao was the type who looked slim in clothes but had a muscular build underneath, probably from years of training, so his physique was great.
The black jacket Gu Yi bought had a bit of a formal feel, and Ye Hao looked particularly dashing in it.
The navy was more casual, and despite the same black pants, Ye Hao pulled off two distinct looks.
Both styles looked good, the more Gu Yi looked, the more satisfied she was.
"I’m used to seeing you in military attire, but other outfits suit you too."
Gu Yi felt like she was staring at Ye Hao with hearts in her eyes.
Ye Hao was amused by her expression.
With a smile, he patted her head.
"Like it that much?"
"Yes, like it a lot."
Gu Yi nodded earnestly.
Ye Hao’s grin widened.
"I also like it a lot."
Ye Hao removed the clothes and hung them in another room.
It took Gu Yi a moment to catch on and run to him.
"Hey, I meant the clothes."
Ye Hao, after hanging the clothes, patted her head again.
"I meant the clothes too."
He said this with a smile as he left the room.
"Alright, I admit, I also like the person a lot."
Seeing Ye Hao walk out, Gu Yi stood there and added.
She blushed, felt her warm face, and smiled shyly.
"I also admit, I like the person a whole, whole lot."
Ye Hao suddenly peeked his head back in and deliberately emphasized the last bit.
