Jin Yu straightened up as he finished speaking and politely called out to Xu Wentian and the old lady, "Grandpa and Grandma, you’re back."

As for his own grandfather, he was blatantly ignored.

The old lady quite fancied this grandson-in-law. Hearing his greeting, she squinted and remarked with an "eh", "Thank you for coming to pick us up."

Xu Wentian was also looking at Jin Yu with satisfaction. This young man was indeed not too shabby.

"It’s not hard work." Jin Yu pressed his lips together and smiled. Seeing Xu Sisi carrying a big bag as well, he naturally took the luggage from her.

Hu Yue, also carrying a big bag, glanced at the hands of Xu Sisi and Xu Niannian, and, very calmly, handed over her own bag as well.

She had thought Jin Yu would take it, but the next second, the weight in her hand suddenly increased as Jin Yu dumped the luggage he had taken from Xu Sisi and Xu Niannian into her arms.

Hu Yue instantly frowned—how ungentlemanly.

Before she could say anything, she heard Jin Yu say, "Triple the tip."

Immediately, Hu Yue spiritedly slung the three big bags over her shoulders, carrying them with a striking vigor.

Xu Niannian had been worried that it might seem improper for Jin Yu to let Hu Yue carry all the luggage.

After all, she was a woman.

Hu Yue had said earlier that she would help them carry the bags, but Xu Niannian didn’t want her to work too hard by herself.

She figured that it wasn’t a big deal and was willing to share the burden.

To her surprise, Hu Yue turned out to be surprisingly strong.

Seeing Xu Niannian’s astonished expression, Jin Yu patted her shoulder and said, "From now on, let her do all the heavy and tiring work. We’re not giving away money for nothing. Don’t worry; she has plenty of strength."

His large hand rested on Xu Niannian’s shoulder, embracing his little wife as he spoke softly.

Suddenly, his gaze fell on her neck.

There was a small red mark on the side of her neck and Jin Yu frowned, looking down at Xu Niannian without a word.

Unsure of his gaze, Xu Niannian asked curiously, "What’s wrong?"

Jin Yu’s slender finger gently traced around her neck as he looked at her with deep-set eyes, "It’s nothing."

The group got into the car, with Jin Yu first dropping off Xu Wentian and the old lady back at the Xu Family residence.

Xu Sisi got out of the car with them since she naturally would stay with her grandparents and wouldn’t go to the Jin Family’s house with Niannian.

After dropping off the two elders and Xu Sisi, Jin Yu then drove to the Jin Family courtyard.

Elder Master Jin and Hu Yue sat in the back seat, dozing off with half-closed eyes.

They soon arrived at the courtyard.

After parking the car, Jin Yu helped Elder Master Jin out of the vehicle and then went around to open the door for Xu Niannian.

As for Hu Yue, she carried two pieces of luggage.

Aside from Jin Ruiyang, no one else was at home.

As soon as the elder arrived home, he went to sleep, and Hu Yue also went to the room arranged for her.

Jin Yu pulled Xu Niannian into his room.

At first, Xu Niannian thought he was up to some mischief again.

But after he took her back to the bedroom, he didn’t do anything to her; instead, he just stared at her neck.

His expression was so serious that Niannian thought he was putting on airs, so she leaned in and wrapped her arms around his neck.

"What’s wrong?" she asked him with a giggle, "Is it because you haven’t seen your wife for so long, you’ve found her even prettier?"

Jin Yu smirked and pulled her back, "Don’t move, let me have a good look."

He tilted his head and moved closer to Niannian, who he forcibly turned by the neck to one side.

"Hey, what’s the matter with you?" Xu Niannian complained and hit him.

Jin Yu narrowed his eyes, inspecting closely for a moment.

He was certain that the red mark on her neck was not normal.

"Wife, quit your fussing." He grabbed her hands and pulled her to sit down on a seat.

Xu Niannian was inexplicably startled by his serious demeanor.

She remembered that her neck had suddenly hurt on the train.

Touching her neck instinctively, she asked worriedly, "Jin Yu, what’s wrong? Don’t scare me."

Jin Yu simply placed a mirror in front of Xu Niannian, "What’s this? How did it happen?"

Xu Niannian turned her head to look and saw a rather conspicuous red mark on her neck in the mirror.

"Ah, how did this happen?" Xu Niannian was also startled.

Wasn’t this the exact spot that had suddenly started to hurt on the train?

As she kept looking, Xu Niannian suddenly felt something was amiss.

The more she looked... the more it resembled something else.

No wonder Jin Yu had been giving her those strange looks.

Xu Niannian’s first reaction was to explain, "Hey, Jin Yu, it’s not what you think, don’t jump to conclusions."

Jin Yu looked up with a puzzled face and asked, "What do I think it is?"

Xu Niannian became anxious, thinking that Jin Yu did not believe her, and hurriedly said, "I haven’t done anything to betray you, and I don’t know how this thing suddenly appeared. I’m just..."

"Silly." Jin Yu made a "tsk" sound before he realized what she thought had happened. Twisting her neck, he put down the mirror, "I didn’t think that way."

"Then why did you..."

Jin Yu pursed his lips, a dark current flowing through his eyes, "Do you feel anything unusual in your body?"

"No."

Xu Niannian shook her head.

Jin Yu narrowed his eyes, not sure if it was his illusion, but when he saw the red mark on her neck, his first thought was that she had been targeted by someone.

Not that she had done something to wrong him.

He naturally trusted his girl.

Jin Yu didn’t want to worry Xu Niannian with too many things, so he rubbed her head and said, "It’s nothing, probably just bumped into something."

Xu Niannian was no fool; Jin Yu’s expression obviously meant there was something.

"Do you really think I..."

"It’s nothing." Jin Yu knew what she was thinking and chuckled, pinching her earlobe, "Don’t think too much. I’m just worried that you’ve been targeted by my archenemy."

Although Jin Yu didn’t want her to worry, he wanted even less for her to misunderstand.

So he still spoke up.

"Archenemy?" Xu Niannian asked, puzzled, "What archenemy?"

Ye Xiangtian.

Ye Xiangtian had a skill called Cinnabar Life Targeting.

Back in the training camp, whenever he sparred with others, he would never truly hurt his opponents, but rather use a cinnabar pen to mark their vital spots.

Others assumed Ye Xiangtian did not want to hurt his comrades.

Only Jin Yu knew he didn’t want to dirty his hands.

He had a severe case of germophobia.

This location happened to be right over Xu Niannian’s artery.

But Jin Yu glanced at it and noted it wasn’t made of cinnabar.

He had just taken a close look; it was a bruise, like blood that had been drawn to the surface.

Of course, it looked more like something that could be misunderstood.

But Jin Yu wasn’t thinking in that direction at all.

Unlike others, if another man saw such a mark on his wife’s neck, he would surely misunderstand.

But who was Jin Yu? Because of his profession, his first sight was the location of the mark.

"Archenemy." Xu Niannian couldn’t help but take a breath, remembering the man she encountered last night when her neck suddenly started hurting.

"I met a very tall man on the train last night. It was when he passed by me my neck suddenly hurt."

After thinking it through, Xu Niannian felt it was unlikely, "But I remember clearly, he didn’t touch me at all last night, how could he leave such a mark on me?"

Xu Niannian looked at Jin Yu, puzzled.

Jin Yu raised an eyebrow, "A man? How tall? What build?"

Xu Niannian recalled carefully, the man who brushed past her seemed to be just about the same height difference as between her and Jin Yu.

"Should be around your height, very thin, but not someone who seems fragile."

Although it was very dark on the train last night, Xu Niannian still got a rough idea.

Jin Yu pursed his lips, as tall as him and very thin.

Yet not frail.

Very much like Ye Xiangtian.

Jin Yu guessed it was probably him, and his eyes instantly narrowed, his gaze gradually turning cold.

What did Ye Xiangtian mean by this? Declaring war openly with him?

Or was he trying to use his wife to deal with him?

Or was this a warning for him not to interfere with his affairs anymore?

Jin Yu pressed his lips tightly together if indeed that was the case.

He indeed needed to be vigilant; he couldn’t joke with his wife’s safety.

Jin Yu’s expression became so serious that Xu Niannian’s heart squeezed in concern.

"Is it serious? Do I need to avoid anything?"

"It’s fine." Jin Yu came back to his senses, reassuring her, "Don’t worry, even if there’s danger, your husband will protect you."

A smile instantly tinted his eyes.

Seeing him smile, Xu Niannian relaxed as well, "Then you have to protect me well. If you lose me, who will have your children?"

For some reason, Jin Yu gave her a great sense of security; as long as he said it was fine, Xu Niannian believed nothing would happen to her.
