Chapter 102: Chapter 101: Jin Yu’s Dream
Ye Shaoting was speechless with Jin Yu for the Nth time. After so long as an old monk, he fell in love with a village girl as soon as he came down from the mountain.
Ye Shaoting wanted to continue understanding the situation, like what kind of person his preferred round-faced girl was.
But Jin Yu was no longer planning to answer him.
"Either turn off the lights and go to sleep or get the hell out," he said before Ye Shaoting could speak.
When you’re under someone else’s roof, you have to bow your head. Ye Shaoting chose to shut up and sleep.
In the middle of the night, Jin Yu had a dream.
In the dream, the events of the day played out; he was in Xu Jiaojiao’s family’s backyard with her.
But suddenly, she opened her eyes and started screaming shrilly, "Jin Yu, go to hell."
The sound was piercing, and Jin Yu woke up with a start.
His face was covered in sweat, and in the pitch-black space, his eyes were as sharp as a hawk’s.
Ye Shaoting was woken up by his sudden movement and glanced at him from the ground, "What’s up with you?"
"It’s nothing, go back to sleep," Jin Yu’s voice was hoarse.
Ye Shaoting grunted and went back to sleep.
Jin Yu lowered his head, thinking of the scene in his dream, and massaged his temples, which ached with pain.
Damn, that woman must be poisonous.
After taking a shower, Jin Yu looked at his own stern face in the mirror, bent his long fingers, and pressed them against it.
It appeared that he needed to keep his distance from that woman. If he kept in contact, there was no telling when he might lose control.
Their few encounters had never seemed right.
If it wasn’t for his previous lack of interest in any woman, he would have suspected himself of being a scoundrel.
Of course, Xu Niannian had no idea what Jin Yu was thinking.
Early today, she made another thousand Liuyue Su to take to the county town. She gave 500 to Li Qingshui and 150 each to two dry goods stores in the suburb and outskirts.
These two stores requested more supply, but Xu Niannian did not increase their order for the time being.
Carrying the remaining 200 on her back, Xu Niannian went to the other two breakfast shops.
These two breakfast shops were the ones that wanted to wait and see and hadn’t booked the next supply.
When she first arrived at the breakfast shop in the Southern Suburb, Xu Niannian didn’t rush in immediately, but observed the outside for a while.
Seeing quite a few people entering and then leaving empty-handed, Xu Niannian raised her eyebrows.
After a while, when there was no one left in the shop, Xu Niannian walked in with her basket on her back.
The proprietress was busy kneading dough. Hearing footsteps but not lifting her head, she said somewhat helplessly, "There’s no Liuyue Su for now."
The proprietress felt worried. If she had known the Liuyue Su business would be so good, she would have booked the next supply with the young girl.
She didn’t expect that something priced at four mao each could sell out in less than a day.
It had been almost more than ten days since then, and the girl hadn’t shown up. She had no idea if she would come back at all.
Thinking of the business opportunity she’d missed, the proprietress was filled with regret and sighed deeply.
Xu Niannian coughed and asked, "Boss, do you have a moment?"
Hearing her voice, the proprietress reacted so strongly that she looked up immediately. Upon seeing Xu Niannian’s strikingly beautiful face, she exclaimed excitedly, "Big sister, you’re finally here."
Xu Niannian’s voice was quite distinctive, and the proprietress remembered it after hearing it just once. The proprietress had been impatient partly because her man kept staring at Xu Niannian, making her uncomfortable inside.
Also, because she feared the snacks wouldn’t sell easily, she did not only refrain from booking the next batch with Xu Niannian, but she also didn’t ask for her contact information.
