For many, Jia Yan is an incredibly potent figure. However, this doesn’t mean Jia Yan inspires them to willingly give everything for him as their devoted leader!
In the past, Big Mosquito didn’t directly kill and seize properties of those under his regime, allowing them to live without complaint under his rule.
But if Big Mosquito were to seize their properties now, this would be catastrophic for those under his command, causing chaos and disruption like a natural calamity!
"Yes, that’s what I plan to do. Pass on the command. If anyone fails to comply... expel or kill them, as you see fit!"
Jia Yan emitted his voice, uttering these words indifferently.
"But, Lord! This would be detrimental to the team’s development, and our Earth Army’s development as well!" Oluk panicked and protested shrilly before Jia Yan. It was a rare display of hysteria from the large frog, which testified to his agitated state.
"You either implement the order... or I kill you and find someone else to do so. Do you understand?!"
Suddenly, Jia Yan’s voice, amplified by his Brainwave Power, resonated throughout. His normally pleasant voice echoed in the air, causing Oluk’s overweight frog-like body to involuntarily take several steps back.
His voice exuded the chilling aura of nonchalant brutal consequentialism, causing Oluk’s belief that Big Mosquito isn’t a tyrant to shatter wholly!
"He isn’t denying his tyrannical behavior. He isn’t a true tyrant either. Lord Assassin is simply determined to possess what he desires..."
With a downbeat expression, Oluk reluctantly accepted his instructions: "Yes, understood, I will start making arrangements now. But, my Lord, there may be some disturbances for a while, I hope you will intervene when the situation becomes perilous."
"I understand. I will intervene when the situation surpasses your handling capacity.’
Jia Yan remained perched atop a tall tree canopy, gazing at the bustling city below.
He speculated about the potential tumbling effects of his disruption—the decline of the scene below, and the reduction in the number of living beings.
Unbeknownst to Jia Yan, Oluk had departed while he continued to contemplate the view below, as if wanting to fully absorb the scenery with his compound eyes.
All of this is for his evolution, for his growing power!
Despite his dismay, Oluk was efficient, which could be attributed to the inherent characteristics of desert life. Jia Yan hadn’t been atop the tree for long before several teams of troopers stormed towards the surrounding war vehicle buildings!
Jia Yan understood that the beings maintaining law and order, who temporarily pledged allegiance to Oluk, may defect at any moment. No being in the fleet was devoid of the possibility to betray. The existing system, established under the threat of Jia Yan’s formidable military force, was as fragile as a small sailboat in vast ocean, which could capsize at any moment.
"No, I can’t allow this. This is my companion of over 20 years. No amount of promises is enough. You can’t take it away!"
"I beg of you all, even if it means bankrupting myself, let me keep my vehicle, Lord Assassin, please, grant me mercy!"
Jia Yan was watching as the members of the rallies screamed fearfully. Several beings directed their yells towards where Jia Yan resided.
Jia Yan remained unmoved.
In actuality, he wasn’t asking for much. After investigating for several days, he found that many beings in the convoy had significant wealth, especially those from the Sorin Team and Rakaf Team. Even common members of these teams probably didn’t lack wealth compared to poor leaders like Oluk.
After his rough calculations, what he asked Oluk to confiscate was not excessive—only half of some beings’ possessions.
Of course, some beings may not be able to produce as much, but that was a separate issue. Those beings would be forced to work for the fleet without pay for a while.
The collection activity below commenced slowly, even encountering resistance!
But most of the resistance was insignificant and did not necessitate Jia Yan’s intervention. The only exceptions were the powerful beings from the Sorin Team.
With Jia Yan’s intervention, the confiscation process went a lot smoother. At this point, the previously serene fleet was filled with trepidation. Jia Yan generously allowed those who had their possessions confiscated to leave.
However, most beings who had their wealth confiscated lost their capability to leave, having lost their vehicles and most of their possessions. Stranded in the vast desert, they were left with no outcome other than death.
