Chapter 444: Chapter 5 The Value of that Monster! [Request Subscription]_3
The colossal monster, with its deep and resonant voice, spoke in the Auster language.
Despite being a self-proclaimed state, they still used the language of the Auster people, making one wonder if there was some intrigue behind it all.
"Is he worth antagonizing every other civilization on our behalf?!" The pure white life-form, stunned by the Bullhorn Monster’s words, widened her beautiful eyes in disbelief.
She couldn’t believe it. Though she’d felt a formidable power from the monster during their fight, she had not utilized even half of her strength. She was confident that using eighty percent of her power she could suppress the monster, and in fact had maintained a tight control over him during their encounter. If he truly had any impressive abilities, then he should have used them then.
Was such a monster really worth it? Was a creature who couldn’t even defeat her truly so valuable?
Was her father growing senile again?
The white life-form looked helplessly at her father, a figure as massive as a mountain peak.
She still found it hard to believe that this towering creature, so unalike her in appearence, was her father. But she knew that questioning it would upset the Bullhorn Monster, so she said nothing.
"If there’s anything exceptional about that flying monster..." the white life-form trailed off thoughtfully.
As she recalled her battle with the Big Mosquito, she could not find anything exceptional about him. She was puzzled as to what the monster had done to earn her father’s admiration.
On one hand, the monster was indeed strong—its strength was on par with half of hers. But it wasn’t extraordinarily powerful. After all, there were plenty of creatures in the Biotech State’s combat force that were stronger.
The monster’s strength was not enough to justify the newly-formed state going to such lengths to ruin its reputation and violate treaties.
Despite much consideration, the White Monster could not understand, and finally gave up on it.
Moments later, a shadow loomed overhead—a massive ship belonging to the Auster people. It floated gently down towards the gathering of Battle Pets at the city center.
The other side had dispatched its high-level officials!
The military forces of the two countries officially began their negotiations.
No one knew what was discussed during the negotiations, but they did know that not long after, the Biotech State’s military started to retreat significantly.
No one understood why the emerging state of Biotech, after diligently obeying every interstellar protocol for over a hundred years, chose to encircle the seemingly run-of-the-mill City Six, knowing full well it meant violating the treaties they’d previously signed up to.
Only a select few realized that soon after, not long after the Biotech State’s retreat, unfamiliar figures started to appear in City Six.
Conversely, some creatures residing in City Six began to disappear, as if they had never existed in the first place.
This group included Gutan, who had once bred an assassin.
The Big Mosquito was probably his natural nemesis, offering him nothing more than short-lived success, followed by endless suffering.
"Damn it! I knew I shouldn’t have invited those guys." Sitting inside a heavily fortified vehicle, Gutan watched as his Three-Headed Battle Pet was being herded along by a monster only half its height. Terror filled him as he dreading what was to come.
Ever since the assassin had caused a huge commotion, Gutan had been detained by some so-called ’secret units.’ Now as events unfolded, he was being sent out of the city, oblivious to where he was being taken, filled with regret.
All of this was caused by those two. The assassin, who seemed formidable from Gutan’s perspective, was much stronger than he had imagined. It was an entity that stood toe-to-toe with the top combat power of the warring states!
Gutan felt like cursing! But who could he curse at? He was the one who had invited those two in the first place. He had initially been relieved to have invited them, but who would have known they would have brought such big trouble!
He did not know what fate held for him—he would just have to go with the flow.
What Gutan did not know was that in City Six, a person he "desired" was, at that moment, also struggling to evade an ongoing manhunt.
It was late at night, and a nocturnal curfew had been hastily imposed on the city.
Darkness was everywhere.
Click, clack, click, clack...
A woman, running in high heels, produced the crisp sound that broke the silence of the night, her steps echoing in the stillness.
She was frantically running around the dark corners of the city, frequently glancing back, as if she was being chased!
Her speed kept increasing, and it seemed as if a mysterious force was enveloping her, making her float slightly above the ground, almost like she was flying!
Indeed, a figure swift as lightning was chasing her from behind!
It was a monster resembling a black panther!
This creature, cloaked in darkness, was virtually invisible in the night, making it impossible to track!
The black panther seemed to possess some kind of long-range tracking ability as it chased after the fleeing woman at a remarkable speed.
The distance between the two was rapidly decreasing...
Just as the woman was about to be caught by the black panther closing in from behind...
Squeak!!!
A door of a house suddenly swung open!
Startled, the woman braced herself to face whatever came next.
But unexpectedly, someone from the house flashed a signal device, which immediately quelled her apprehensions.
She quickly slipped through the door. Simultaneously, another woman emerged from the house and took off running. As she ran, her clothing and appearance gradually transformed to resemble the woman who had just fled inside.
The black panther chased after her, sniffing the air briefly upon reaching the house. Without any hesitation, it darted off in the direction the second woman had fled.
