Chapter 442: Chapter 5 The Value of that Monster! [Seeking Official Subscription]_1

The massive vehicle, if on Earth, would be a construct akin to a small mountain.

The matte black color, along with the patterns of rust that had taken ages to form, revealed the convoy’s long history and tragic past.

Under Jia Yan’s intense gaze, Lulu started to narrate what she knew.

In turn, Jia Yan gradually learned about this convoy, and many of the dark secrets of this planet.

Apparently, this planet was home to entities akin to drug lords, yet those who truly profited were always the upper echelons.

The biggest beneficiaries were actually the warring factions. Small convoys like Lulu’s were moving drug warehouses. The sheriffs would occasionally launch raids, and unlucky convoys caught by them would be plundered like war spoils. Years of earnings would vanish, landing in the pockets of the upper tiers, with even their lives at risk.

But usually, the sheriffs wouldn’t lay hands on the drug lord convoys since they were considered one of the cornerstone industries of this War Planet. Without them, the planet would certainly slip into decline.

This was a combat planet caught in fierce battles, not a true Life Planet suitable for colonization. To grow and prosper, apart from waiting for the warring parties to determine a winner, their only choice was to engage in illegal activities! After all, they had one advantage — no one cared!

"Interesting, so there are so many secrets behind the scenes."

After hearing what Lulu, who claimed to be from the ’Dannell Civilization’, had to say, Jia Yan’s compound eyes revealed a deeper understanding of Grey-Yellow Star.

Chaos represented opportunities, and most of the so-called inhabitants of this planet were opportunists!

Moreover, despite its chaos, this planet still had its own rules and ways of survival.

"I thought battle zones would be engulfed in war and rendered uninhabitable, but I was wrong! These planets that have been at war for centuries undergo gradual changes throughout their historical trajectory. Much like a war, if there are numerous soldiers on both sides, then there must be trade and entertainment on this planet. After all, such a long time could span a soldier’s entire lifetime. Without other forms of life apart from fighting, anyone would crumble."

Jia Yan slowly made sense of many things. He previously held many doubts about Grey-Yellow Star, such as why a battle-ridden planet had cities. Why were there so many rules, and even many non-combat zones designated?

There were even some especially strange rules, but now, thinking about it, each rule probably had its historical reasons.

"Of course, it is because of such chaos that I have an opportunity. Otherwise, when I first arrived at this planet, injured and with most of my energy depleted, I might have been captured."

Jia Yan felt relieved when he thought of this.

So, was there an opportunity for him on this chaotic war planet?

Jia Yan’s compound eyes shimmered. This planet attracted not only desperadoes, but as Jia Yan learned more about how this War Planet operated, he too began to consider opportunities to exploit its vulnerabilities!

There was definitely an opportunity on this planet! Absolutely!

Jia Yan hadn’t quite figured out what the opportunity might be, but his intuition told him that there definitely was one, and it was not small!

The Big Mosquito was for now still following the convoy in flight. Meanwhile, in the nearby cities, rumors regarding this ’powerful life form’, the Big Mosquito, started circulating!

A Battle Pet from City Six, just shy of reaching the finals of the Battle Pet Competition, had suddenly engaged in combat with an unknown creature! Its power astonishingly surpassed its performance in the competition ring far more than any Battle Pet could achieve.

After the incident, that Battle Pet disappeared, which unsettled many residents of City Six. They worried that it had something to do with the military. After all, only the armies of the warring factions could possibly possess such combat power on this planet.

This created an issue of perception. To everyone on this planet, the military was overwhelmingly powerful. While one could not entirely rule out the existence of other mighty forces on this planet, they had to lay low in the shadows due to the strict supervision of the warring factions. So, most people concluded that the sudden skirmish between the unknown Battle Pet ’assassin’ and the mysterious creature had something to do with the warring factions. Similar incidents did occasionally occur.

This instigated widespread terror amongst the city residents. A general wisdom on this planet was that issues implicated with the military spelled trouble. They did not want any abnormalities to affect their peaceful day-to-day lives in the city.

All extraterrestrial life forms were cursing the departing Giant Mosquito monster! Of course, they didn’t know that the creature was a mosquito from Earth, and the vast majority didn’t even know where Earth was. But this didn’t stop them from viewing the creature dubbed ’assassin’ as a plague.
