Within the ripples of that space, Jia Yan lost most of his energy in one breath. At this point, not only was recovery out of the question, but there were also some minor injuries eroding his body!

That was why Jia Yan had been constantly on the run, instead of confronting difficulties head-on like he used to!

He was actually extremely weak.

"This so-called nutrient solution seems to have a bit of an effect. But it’s still far from what I need. Perhaps those premium ones would be somewhat effective."

What was presented to Jia Yan this time was not anything high-grade, but instead the nutrient solution routinely used in this ’Beast-Battling Breeding Farm’. However, it did have some effect on Jia Yan!

"Previously, Daphne told me that this type of nutrient solution is a common item and that it contains some minerals. I guess it’s these minerals that are having an effect!?"

Jia Yan came to an easy realization that his ongoing mutations had something to do with minerals and magical materials. Consequently, he understood that the minerals contained in the so-called nutrient solution were the ones affecting him!

"Good, I’ll soon have Daphne to negotiate with Gutan for more nutrient solutions, and one with higher mineral content! He cannot refrain from paying in return for expecting me to enter battles for him..."

Gutan, that life form wise as a lump of charcoal, was said to be a creature of an advanced civilization, thirty light years away. He was in this war-torn city for his personal interests and livings. His Beast-Battling Breeding Farm didn’t just deliver a lot of battle pets but also participated in some beast-battling gambling events. The day after tomorrow was a registered battle day for his three-headed monster.

However, the power of the enemy was just too immense; after all, it was a monster about to be recruited for war. But it was bought by now-owner because it was not smart enough and thus became a battle pet.

This carbon-like life-form knew there was no chance to emerge victorious. However, the upcoming battle was crucial for the reputation of this nameless breeding farm, and he already had a huge bet placed on his battle pet without knowing who his opponent was. Losing this fight would be a massive blow to his breeding farm!

Just the previous day, he met Jia Yan.

Being a professional pet-breeder, he realised at the first glance that Jia Yan’s flying monster was different from other strong pets with its unique, potent aura.

Although he was unsure about how powerful Big Mosquito was, he noted that all lives in the square before the administration building were stunned into stillness by his appearance. It was clear how formidable Big Mosquito was!

Although a battle pet’s power cannot be judged merely by its appearance, Big Mosquito’s form does reveal how strong he is. Back then, Daphne was poorly dressed, and Jia Yan himself seemed a bit shabby. Gutan, sharp as a piece of coal, noticed their distress and therefore sent an invitation.

The purpose was to have Jia Yan help him get through the next beast-battling event.

Jia Yan and Daphne, desperate to familiarise themselves with the city, immediately agreed and formed a close partnership.

The only thing is, neither Jia Yan nor Daphne demonstrated any interest or concern about the so-called ’beast-battling event.’ After listening to Daphne’s description and considering what he had seen of such battle pets, Jia Yan knew the so-called battle pets were nothing more than a joke to him.

They were too weak! Some individual pets, possibly military combat life forms obtained by their owners through special means, might be scattered around, but Jia Yan didn’t think these scattered life forms would be too powerful.

So after hearing out the situation, he thought about how he could maximise his benefits from Gutan.

"Good, now it’s time to put these to use. Even though they barely replenish the energy I am lacking, it’s better than nothing!"

Jia Yan slowly consumed the handpicked nutrient solutions. He was not worried about getting poisoned; after all, he had never experienced it since his rebirth, or perhaps each of his mutations was a unique kind of poisoning, considering that the recombination of life forms was far stronger than any toxin!

And he would naturally react to genuinely harmful substances.

Therefore, he didn’t hesitate to consume these materials!
