Reborn as a Mind-Reading Empress
Chapter 988: Forgetting Something?

Chapter 988: Chapter 988: Forgetting Something?

Ferdinand knew her ability would be useful, but he was worried she was already tired.

{I’m fine. The banquet was mostly relaxed, and I didn’t do much in the meeting with the Marquess this morning.}

Arabella assured Ferdinand she would be fine.

{Alright then.}

While Marquess Sibruh did the necessary preparations before the meeting, since it would likely take an hour or more before the nobles arrived, Arabella and Ferdinand had tea together in one of the waiting rooms.

They updated each other about work matters so they wouldn’t have to do so once they were back in the Imperial Palace.

"How are the proposals going?" Ferdinand inquired.

"For the construction projects, I only need your signature now," Arabella grinned proudly.

"Well done. I already knew it wouldn’t take long," Ferdinand chuckled.

Arabella felt even better with Ferdinand praising her.

"My assistants were also almost done with the projects assigned to them. I believe they only have to make the final copy and send it to me. After I do a final check, I’ll have them sent to you as well if there are no problems. As for the relaxing activities, the proposals for the first three events had been finalized and were ready for implementation. The final proposal for the following activities will be done soon as well."

Her assistants had updated her after their meeting with Marquess Sibruh today.

Once all the proposals here were ready, they could head to the next territories.

"I see. That’s good, then. How do you plan to implement each activity while going around the lockdown territories?"

Ferdinand inquired since it meant her schedule would be packed if she attended all events.

"When it’s time to implement events in one area, I will leave my assistant in charge of the project so they can monitor things firsthand," Arabella explained.

For instance, since the theater plays will begin here soon, on the day of the implementation of theatrical plays, Narcissa will be left here in Sibruh to take care of it while Arabella and the others move to the next territory.

Gathering information for the theatrical plays was not that hard, so it was alright for Narcissa to remain here until the project concludes.

She could then head to the next territory for the implementation of the next event once it begins, and gather information for her other project while she was there.

Her other assistants would be doing the same.

But if there are breaks in between the implementation of the activities, they could use the opportunity to join them in the next territory.

And once they have visited all the lockdown territories, they would focus on the employment projects assigned to them.

Meanwhile, Arabella would be monitoring the overall preparation and implementation.

She would receive reports while working in the Imperial Palace, and she would visit each location from time to time to ensure the reports were true.

Of course, her assistant would be assigned with Imperial Knights and one magician each to guard and observe them while they do their tasks.

All of them would indeed be extremely busy this winter.

Her assistants were eager to contribute, so this was their chance to do it.

As for Ivan, he would take a break once his task here was done and stay in Riva to assist her with work.

Likewise, they would pursue the case against his former supervisor.

"I see. What else is in your schedule for this winter?" Ferdinand further inquired.

"Hmm..." Arabella thought about it. "Ah, we will be attending social events in Riva. Since families of the ruling households usually gather in Riva during winter, there will be a lot of social events. We will attend those together as we had planned last time. You will come with me, right?"

"Yes, of course. I have already agreed," Ferdinand kissed the back of her hand.

[I’d rather not expose her alone to all those wolves.]

"Then, I look forward to attending the events with you," Arabella smiled.

She was glad Ferdinand did not change his mind and would truly attend the events with her. This was also a necessary step to improve his image.

Even if he doesn’t mingle, just being there with her was more than enough. It will create rumors of him becoming more sociable, even if he simply attends without speaking to others.

"Anything else you have planned?" Ferdinand continued.

"Hmm... I don’t think there’s anything else. I think we will be very much occupied with those activities and the projects here this winter."

Scheduling too many events might overwhelm them, so what they have now is more than enough. Rather, it was already a lot to deal with.

"Are you sure there is nothing else?"

"Oh, right! We must attend the announcement in Crux next week. Raymond reminded me about it the other day," Arabella recalled her talk with Raymond after the Court Session last time.

"Yes, he also reminded me," Ferdinand nodded. "Are there any more?"

"Aside from those, I think there’s nothing else," Arabella concluded.

"I see..."

Ferdinand’s voice suddenly seemed somewhat depressed.

[I thought it was important to humans. But it seems she doesn’t have me in her plans at all...]

"Huh?! What do you mean?" Arabella blinked twice when she heard his thoughts.

’Wasn’t he already in all of my plans?’

"Nothing!" Ferdinand scratched the back of his head and looked away.

Arabella glanced at Alwin and Rendell, and they didn’t seem to know what it was about either.

[Could it be that event?]

Until Alwin was wide-eyed when he realized what it could be.

Rendell did as well, and the two exchanged glances.

{What is it?! What event?!}

Arabella immediately asked Alwin about it.

{Ever since we headed here in the human realm, we began celebrating His Majesty’s birthdays in winter.}

"!!!" Arabella was wide-eyed when she recalled that Ferdinand’s birthday was indeed in winter.

She had made no plans for it at all.

Arabella reminded herself to also make plans for Ferdinand’s birthday celebration.

’I haven’t even prepared for a gift! What should I prepare for him?! Argh! Geez. How could I forget something so important?! No wonder he keeps asking about my plans!’

Was it because she was too busy that she forgot about it?

Or she had been too busy to distract herself from remembering that it was also someone’s birthday?

Fermin’s birthday was also in winter.
