Chapter 964: Chapter 964: Must Be Treated Like They Were Special
Arabella then has to send letters to each noble household in Sibruh to join the meeting later.
"Well done, everyone!"
Arabella praised her assistants after they left the balcony.
All her assistants did well in managing the public hearing and discussions with the people on their own.
She did not need to input anything since all of them did their job well. They prepared in advance, so they were able to answer the people’s queries.
It was nice to see them work and speak confidently despite being nervous deep inside.
Yesterday, when she told them they would be the ones to discuss, they all paled, even though they were already used to mingling with a lot of people due to noble social events.
However, speaking with a whole crowd of angry locals was entirely different.
They were scared the people might not listen to them or that they might anger the people further.
This was one of the reasons why Nadia, who was used to mingling with commoners and speaking with a lot of them all at once, was the one who spoke first.
"Did we truly do well?" Her assistants asked, worried that she was just trying to assure them.
"Yes, of course. All of you did well. As you can see, the people were in good spirits as they dispersed," Arabella smiled.
"Thank you, Your Majesty!!!"
Her assistants sighed in relief and finally accepted her praise.
They were even more nervous yesterday, but after trying it once, they felt a bit more courageous today. Though they were still nervous, they were slowly getting used to it.
"Alright, let’s all take a break. Go get some fresh air or walk around, then head to the banquet hall. It will be lunchtime soon," Arabella reminded.
"Yes, Your Majesty."
Her assistants then dispersed as well.
[They were nervous? All of them looked so confident earlier. It seems they were bottling it all in. They’re still young after all. They must not have a lot of experience speaking publicly.]
The Marquess was impressed that they performed well without showing their nervousness.
"They all seem promising and talented," Marquess Sibruh praised as well.
"Indeed, they are," Arabella smiled proudly.
She turned in the opposite direction from the one her assistants had gone to so they could relax without any worries.
"I need to send invitation letters for formalities. Can you show me a list or a profile of all the noble houses and merchants here in Sibruh?" Arabella asked.
"Of course, Your Majesty. There’s a copy in my office. Should we head there, or will I have it delivered to Your Majesty?"
The Marquess asked since he assumed Arabella would take a break as well.
But she did nothing but watch and listen during the public hearing, so she was not tired.
She had gotten used to her ability, so she did not have as much trouble as she thought, despite the huge crowd.
"Let’s head to your office," Arabella responded, so Marquess Sibruh guided her to his office.
The Marquess found the copy quickly, so Arabella did not have to wait long.
She browsed through it and handed it to Blanca, who pretended to copy it for the sake of writing the letters.
Once the Marquess turned his back to find the list for the registered merchants, Alwin quickly made a duplicate copy of the profiles and read the copy he had made.
"Here is a compiled copy of the profiles of registered merchants, Your Majesty," Marquess Sibruh said, finding the profiles quickly.
Blanca received it and handed it to Arabella.
The new Marquess had clearly organized his office well and did his work accordingly, so he did not spend much time looking for it.
Arabella browsed through it again, and when a servant came to report something to the Marquess, Alwin quickly duplicated it and read the copy he made.
Arabella then wrote a letter without the addressee, and while the Marquess was busy receiving a report, Alwin used magic and made copies matching the number of noble households and merchants.
Once it was done, Arabella wrote each addressee as if she wrote the letters one by one.
Blanca then folded the letters and placed them in envelopes. She then used Arabella’s seal to seal all of it.
When the Marquess returned to his office, the invitation letters were ready.
"Thank you for the documents. Please have all of these letters sent out by today," Arabella said as Blanca handed two small baskets filled with letters to the Marquess.
[They are already done?!! Did they prepare it in advance?!]
’We didn’t. But I guess it’s better if he thinks we did,’ Arabella thought.
"Of course, Your Majesty! It’s my pleasure to be of service," the Marquess gathered himself and finally replied.
She then discussed the conference halls to be prepared for the meeting with the merchants and nobles.
The meeting with nobles and merchants had to be held on separate days since these two groups had very different principles.
If they mixed them together, it would only cause debates from each side and thus lead to fewer topics discussed and an overall less productive meeting.
Thus, it was better to have them in separate meetings.
"Please set it up ready for dining. I will have our chefs in the palace prepare Valerian and Lobelian cuisine so you need not worry about preparing the food," Arabella instructed.
"Yes, Your Majesty. I will prepare the halls accordingly."
The commoners, knights, and soldiers here were able to join the feast, but most nobles and some merchants did not.
Since they prepared a good feast for the commoners, they must also provide a good banquet for the nobles and merchants.
Arabella had to ensure they did not feel left out, or else they would hold grudges against her and Ferdinand, and the commoners whom they took good care of.
After all, they cannot take care of only one part. They must balance their attention, or else one side will become their enemy.
This was why they must also show that they treasure the noble households and the merchants as well.
These two groups were also the ones who wanted to be made to feel like they were special and different from the rest.
