Chapter 60: More

"May I kiss you?"

[I said it!!!]

Ferdinand panicked as his thoughts slipped from his mouth before he was ready to say them.

". . ."

[She’s not saying anything! What if she thought I just came here to be intimate with her and not really to discuss her travel plans?! Ah, but it’s also true I badly wanted to see her so I thought of using this excuse to come and see her. But it’s not like I planned to do anything. I just wanted to be with her.]

Ferdinand was reasoning with himself.

Meanwhile, Arabella was worried about something else.

’What should I do?!’

Arabella gulped nervously.

Just kissing her would be fine. But the problem was if Ferdinand would truly just kiss her. His mind was already straying as it is.

What if he asked for more?

She couldn’t just reject him all the time after she said she had accepted him as her husband. That she would do her best as his wife and would try to support him.

’We are all alone in my room. It’s still nighttime too. And just earlier, he was aroused. What if he tries to consummate with me tonight?’

Consummating their marriage was fine, but not right now. She was worried Fermin might not be born to them again if he wasn’t conceived on the same day.

She doesn’t know if normal preventive measures would work on Ferdinand as well since he’s a dragon. She had been reading books about dragons but there was no mention of reproduction.

If she consummated with Ferdinand now and gets pregnant, would she still give birth to Fermin?

[She doesn’t want to? Was staying at the borders a wrong decision? She seems to be distant again. How will I get even a bit closer to her? Should I just stay in the palace? But I don’t think I will be able to hold back my urges if I stayed near her all the time. Still, staying so far away is so hard. I thought I would be happy and content once she’s my wife, but it seems there are still too many hurdles I have to overcome before I can truly get close to her and have a chance of getting her love. How can I make her like me even for a bit?]

Arabella felt bad upon hearing his thoughts. This was the first time he asked permission to kiss her, unlike the previous times when he just did what he wanted.

If she refused him now, he might think that it was better not to ask for permission since he would get a no when he asks. While, on the other hand, he could just do as he pleases and only has to stop when she pushes him away.

It could create further misunderstandings in the future so it was better to say yes now so he would understand that she would allow him to do things if he asked nicely instead of just trial and error with the risk of either or both of them getting disappointed or offended.

"Yes. You may," she decided to let him kiss her and stop him when he tries to go all the way.

Ferdinand hesitated to move for a few seconds but he slowly leaned in as if testing her response if she would push him away.

She suddenly felt embarrassed when he kept getting closer while staring at her too intently so she closed her eyes and waited.

[She’s truly willing?!]

Ferdinand was elated and the next instant, his lips were on hers.

[So soft. . .]

One arm wrapped around her waist and he cupped her cheek with his free hand.

[Her lips are so soft and sweet. . . They taste so good. . .]

Her hand ended up pressed against his chest as he pulled her closer. Just one arm around her and he could pull her to him like she was so light.

[Her body feels so soft and small. I can hold her like this forever. . .]

He was so aggressive as usual. He held her even closer until her chest was pressed against him.

[!!!]

His breathing became heavy the more he kissed her and she could feel his heartbeat loudly drumming in his chest. He kissed her even more aggressively and soon began nibbling on her lower lip.

[More. . . I want more of her . . .]

He pulled away for a bit, breathing heavily, and gazed into her eyes.

"Dear we-" she was about to say something to stop him from going further since she could tell from his thoughts and the heated look in his eyes he wanted to go further. His eyes were also showing her the things he wanted to do and it wasn’t chaste or holy at all.

But he cut her off before she could stop him. His lips were on hers again and he intruded into her open mouth. His tongue explored her as he pleased and she could only gasp in surprise at the sensation.

He wasn’t good at kissing but he was so eager and intense.

It was overwhelming.

Her mind was becoming hazy from the heat emanating from his body and his hot eager kisses. She was beginning to be in a daze when she felt her back on the bed.

Arabella’s sanity returned like she was hit by a lightning bolt when Ferdinand hovered over her and was about to kiss her again.

She covered his mouth with her palm this time and pushed against his chest to stop him.

"You said we would talk about my visits," she said to distract him and Ferdinand was wide-eyed.

He gasped and instantly sat upright and gently helped her up.

"I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to do much more than I have asked."

[What am I doing? I just asked for a kiss! I was just thinking of kissing her a bit. Why did I push her down the bed and tried to. . . What if she doesn’t allow me to kiss her again?! Is she angry?]

Ferdinand was tense and nervous as he waited for her response.

"It’s alright since you stopped when I told you to. Shall we talk about what I asked in my letter?" Arabella smiled so he would stop panicking.

[Is it really alright?]

Ferdinand stared at her for a few seconds trying to gauge if she was angry. When he realized she wasn’t, he sighed in relief.

[She did say she would do her best as my wife. Is she trying to accept me this way too? Would she allow me to do more in the future?]

"Dear, would you allow me to visit my assistants’ territories?" Arabella tried again since he didn’t seem to hear what she said about her letter. She had to divert his attention now so he would stop thinking about naughty thoughts.

"Ah, right. I came to talk about that," Ferdinand cleared his throat before speaking again. "Do you really have to visit their territories? It may be dangerous out there."

’He won’t agree?’

"It won’t be dangerous since Rendell and Alwin will be with me. As I have said in my letter, I plan to have your mage teleport me. But that is if you would allow it."

She fiddled with her fingers.

"You would allow it, right Dear?" she tilted her head a bit and tried to look pitiful if he wouldn’t agree.

[!!!]

Ferdinand flinched at her words and actions.

[If I don’t allow her, she might not ask me again when she wants to do something. But going somewhere so far away. . . I don’t want her to go somewhere so far from me. I can just ask Alwin to teleport her to me if something happens but it’s still too worrisome. Just the thought something might happen to her is terrifying. When she fainted last time and slept for three days, I felt so helpless unable to do anything as I waited for her to wake up. What if she fainted again? What if she never woke up this time?]

Ferdinand thought her body was too weak and fragile for traveling somewhere so far away.

He was thinking of all sorts of things like what if she got sick or got attacked by monsters like the time he met her as Sir Elmir.

’I’m not that fragile.’

She knew her body was weak compared to Ferdinand’s sturdy body. But she can ride a horse on her own when necessary.

She did travel by carriage to the territories in Lobelius to do charity work too. She even helped do some cleaning in orphanages and weeding outside even if just a bit.

She was busy every single day in Lobelius too but her body was healthy thanks to Aletha and her other maids taking care of her.

And she was not planning to travel by carriage anyway. They have Alwin. Why not maximize his abilities?

"I won’t be staying long. With Alwin’s ability, I might be able to visit Prudencia, Safiro, and Cordelia in a single day. I just want to get a glimpse of how the people are living their lives and what the territories look like."

"Would you be satisfied with just looking around for a bit?"

[Visiting three territories in a single day is too quick for a human. Though with Alwin, it would be easy. But would she really be fine with just that?]
