"Yes, it wasn’t. We only had to shift to hide our dragon features since it terrified humans, who, had the most population. We adapted to their look so they wouldn’t have to run and scream, every time they see us."

Arabella gulped at those words. Her fellow humans right now think Ferdinand and all other kinds of races are "monsters" that should not be tolerated since they would only cause harm.

Yet here, her overpowered husband and his kind who were all so powerful were the ones who adapted for the sake of humans because they were the ones who were outnumbered.

They were the ones who were considerate enough to adapt so humans would accept or at least communicate with them. She wondered how the humans back then reacted.

"Then, did it work?"

"Yes, to some extent. At least they don’t flea even while we are still far away," Ferdinand chuckled.

"That’s a relief."

If Ferdinand and his kind got terrified screams all the time, it was no wonder they preferred being all alone.

"Yes, we stopped using that form and reserved it for fighting when we didn’t want to cause too much damage."

"I see, so that was why you appeared like that since you were just from a duel with your brother," Arabella slowly nodded her head.

"Yes, but our overflowing mana still terrified humans, so we learned to hold it in instead of letting it flow from us freely.

It worked well for a while, and we were able to communicate with humans as if we were among them.

But as time went by, the world’s mana lessened, and humans began losing their ability to see and use mana.

After more time, humans begin to forget about magic entirely. Only a few remembered.

Thus, human bodies began to have only a little mana.

We had to adapt again and use a lot of barriers around our bodies to prevent our mana from killing them just by passing by.

It became second nature to hold back our immense mana from leaking."

"Isn’t it uncomfortable to hold it in all the time? You have to use barriers and all that. Are you doing that even now? Do you have to hold back so much so that you can be with me?" Arabella got worried.

’Wouldn’t it be some kind of torture being too careful just so he wouldn’t accidentally kill me?!’

"You don’t have to worry. It had been too long. We had gotten used to it. And we learned to spread out our mana in thin layers as far and wide as we could so it wouldn’t be harmful. As long as we aren’t furious, we won’t release bulk amounts of mana that would be deadly."

"Is that true? Isn’t it that even in this human form, you had to have a lot of seals and spells cast on you?" Arabella gently touched his chest.

It reminded her even more that so much power could also be such a burden.

"Yes, but it’s alright. We are already used to having a lot of restrictions on the usage of our abilities. Especially since we have lived for so long that even the gods had gotten tired of looking at us but couldn’t get rid of us either," Ferdinand jested but she felt like it wasn’t a joke.

Arabella wanted to ask more but Alwin had told her last time that she had to be careful when mentioning the gods.

"I see. As long as you are fine with it then."

"So, why are you so curious about that form? Do you want to touch it too just like you did my dragon form?" Ferdinand had a glint in his eyes when he asked.

Arabella took the bait though since she does, "Yes."

"Then you’ll have to receive a lot more of my mana. I’ll keep giving you some every day so you will get used to it and be able to touch my real body as you please," Ferdinand grinned.

"I think the kind of touch you are thinking is a bit different," Arabella lightly punched his chest since he was fantasizing about finally being able to sleep with her in his original body.

"Don’t you want to touch me in my real body? Don’t worry, I’ll shift to human form, so you won’t be uncomfortable. I’ll be very gentle too," he promised.

"Of course, I do too. Once I am allowed to touch you in that body of yours, I’d love to," Arabella smiled and got a delighted kiss from Ferdinand.

She felt how excited and eager he was for that day to come.

"Arabella, it’s been an hour. Can we now?" Ferdinand buried his face in the crook of her neck.

"Ah yes, of course. But let’s clean up and bathe first, okay? It’s the first time in a while."

"Alright," Ferdinand kissed her hand and teleported her to the bath. "I’ll clean up in another room or I’ll attack you right here."

He kissed the back of her hand again and teleported quickly.

Arabella understood why. He was tempted just to do it here but held back.

"I need to hurry," she chuckled lightly. She wanted to be one with him again very soon too.

Once they were done bathing, Ferdinand teleported them to his secluded mansion where they first did intimate things.

"Why did we have to go here?" Arabella inquired.

"So, you won’t be distracted by the presence of other people. No one will hear us here. No one will disturb us either. I will not stop even if you beg so you can moan as much as you want," Ferdinand licked his lips.

Arabella blushed. She knew she might be in trouble but why did that sound so hot?

She had missed him so much that she didn’t mind even if he did her roughly tonight. No, she wanted him to be rough.

"What did you think about? Your face just turned a deep shade of red," Ferdinand caressed her cheek.

"N-Nothing," Arabella looked away in embarrassment.

"Are you looking forward to it?" Ferdinand teased her.

"I am, so come here," Arabella decided to just say it and she loved the look on his face.

Since they were all alone here indeed, she didn’t have to worry about anything, and she could just do as she pleased.

And what she wanted right now was Ferdinand.

Arabella looped her arms around his neck and kissed him.
