She was still frustrated though and needed to do something to let out all the emotions fighting inside her. And his chest was right in front of her.

She didn’t why she did it but she bit him through his clothes and let her teeth linger.

"A-Arabella? What are you doing? W-wait..."

Ferdinand groaned.

’Huh? Why did that sound different?’

It should have been a groan of pain.

But what came from his throat and lips sounded like that of pleasure. And she felt something bulge and harden between them.

’Does he get turned on from getting hurt?!’

Arabella blinked repeatedly and looked up to see her husband’s expression.

[Why did she do that?! Now I couldn’t hold back getting a hard-on. What would she think of me now?]

He looked away, feeling embarrassed for getting so hard while they were outdoors in a place where people could see them.

Ferdinand did not meet her gaze but she could see his face, neck, and ears were reddish. He was biting his lower lip too.

"Ferdinand?" she cupped his cheek and tilted his face towards her. His eyes had changed.

"It’s your fault. Why did you bite me all of a sudden?" Ferdinand eyed her with longing but with a hint of shyness.

He looked so adorable that Arabella almost kissed him, but she held back.

His eyes darted to her lips, and he gulped.

"I’m sorry. Did it hurt?"

"Yes, it hurt and stung a bit, but it felt good," Ferdinand leaned to kiss her, but she averted her face.

"You are into stuff like that?"

"What do you mean?"

Ferdinand didn’t get it until several seconds later.

"Oh, do you mean that kind of stuff?

"No, I don’t want to give you pain.

"But if you like to bite me or give me some kind of pain while being intimate, I don’t mind at all.

"You can do as you please, I will enjoy everything you give me."

’Huh? He’s making it look like I’m the one who’s into it. Yet he was the one who got aroused from it.’

Arabella did not understand how it would be enjoyable if it was intentionally inflicting pain on a loved one.

"Then, should I just pretend I could not feel this hard thing against my belly?" Arabella raised a brow.

Ferdinand’s face turned a deeper shade of red.

"As I’ve said, it’s your fault," Ferdinand leaned in to kiss her, but she avoided him yet again.

"Arabella," he complained with longing and hunger in his eyes. He even knew to act pitifully like a poor little puppy getting deprived of his necessities.

But she won’t get fooled by this beast.

She wanted to kiss him too. But he doesn’t even realize how long she waited for him to return home; how much she worried these past months while he was enjoying a fight with his brother.

Arabella wasn’t about to let him have his way with her when he was still ignorant of such crucial facts. He should have recalled he had a wife waiting for him at home.

"Humph. I don’t want to kiss you right now," Arabella stopped hugging him.

"Huh?! Why? I don’t have weird preferences whatsoever," Ferdinand thought it was still about the arousal he got from her sudden bite.

"It wasn’t about that."

"Then, what is it?" Ferdinand tilted her face towards him so he could see her expression.

[This is so unfair. How can I figure out what she’s thinking about when she’s still so cute even when she’s angry?]

Ferdinand got distracted so Arabella glared at him.

"Sorry, what was it? Why are you angry at me? Please do enlighten me," Ferdinand pleaded.

She just gave him another glare.

[She missed me. But she keeps glaring at me. It makes my chest hurt.] Ferdinand pouted.

Arabella felt bad so she finally gave him a clue.

"Why won’t you look around?"

Ferdinand did and was wide-eyed. He did not even notice their surroundings since he was focused on her the whole time.

"Huh? Why have all the trees changed color? Did something happen while I was gone?" Ferdinand thought it was caused by magic.

[Wait. It wasn’t just here. Even the neighboring islands. It’s as if the season has changed... Wait! Did it?!]

Ferdinand was wide-eyed at the realization.

"It’s already Fall?!" he inquired for verification.

"Yes. The trees and other plants here did not lose as many leaves as they did in Valeria since your island is mana-rich. But in Riva, almost all trees and vegetation had lost their leaves weeks ago. Winter could begin in a few days," Arabella broke the news.

"Huh?! That much time had passed by?!"

"Yes."

[Why did I not notice it in Umbra?! The flow of time is the same as when I was in the Shadow Territory. Was it different in that bastard’s territory? I should have noticed!]

Ferdinand was horrified at the realization.

[I wasn’t with her for so long?!! So, this was why she wanted me to hold her so tight?! She had been waiting for me for months?!! Damn it.]

"I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to make you wait that long. It must have been hard. I’m sorry," Ferdinand held her tight and repeatedly apologized.

"Yes. It was hard, terrifying, and lonely.

"I don’t even know how you were doing.

"My only assurance was I could feel your presence, so I at least know you are alive.

"I also could keep assuming you are alright since you always say you are so strong.

"But I still couldn’t help but think that maybe something happened to you.

"Do you know how worried I was that you may never come back to?

"Do you know how that feels?"

Arabella ranted, holding back her tears. She could finally say these to him.

"I’m so sorry," Ferdinand held her tighter and kissed her hair repeatedly.

He kept apologizing until she ended up crying in relief that he was truly back safe and sound.

Arabella allowed herself to be comforted by his words, soft kisses on her face and hair, and warm embrace.
