Chapter 582: How to Make Him Return
"What?!" Arabella was horrified at Alwin’s explanation.
’Right. Ferdinand did say something like that.’
It completely left her mind, but she recalled it now. Still, there was no reason for Ferdinand to fight another primordial for that long since he was no longer trying to die.
Why would he fight with another dragon like that?
"It had been more than 16 millennia ever since His Majesty last fought with a fellow primordial. If they get too into the fight, there’s nothing we can do but wait. But it might take years before they stop."
"No way. I might be old by then," Arabella recalled her dream about Raymond telling Ferdinand she may no longer be alive once he returned from Umbra.
’Is this what that dream was warning me about?’
"Doesn’t he have to fulfill his duties as Emperor? Can’t the Overseer in Estrella demand him to return?" Arabella recalled Elrond.
He was the only person she had heard Ferdinand speak about respectfully.
"He could but. Since he hadn’t done it yet, he might not be allowed to interfere since His Majesty is in Umbra. I’m not sure about how things work when it comes to Umbra."
Even Alwin was unsure what they should do.
"Ah, but His Majesty had you now. If you are in danger, His Majesty would feel it," Alwin perked up and eyed her.
"Huh? What’s with that look? Are you suggesting I jump from the highest window of this Tower or something?" Arabella frowned.
"Oh, what a good idea. I won’t use magic to catch you until you almost hit the floor so you would feel fear for real," Alwin continued with the crazy idea.
"No. That’s too much. You won’t get just a scolding when he learns you agreed to something like that. He might just make you return to Estrella for real and forbid you from coming here."
Alwin paled when she said that. He didn’t that to happen.
Arabella didn’t either. Alwin was her only ally who knew about their previous life. She needed him to be around to have someone to observe the flow of things this time around.
"Oh, then why won’t we have another date in Estrella? It would be too dangerous if His Majesty broke the rules and simply teleported here in his original body."
"What are you planning to do this time?" Arabella knew he wasn’t thinking of just eating together a lavish dinner since it did not result in anything last time.
"I will give you an ample amount of my mana. His Majesty would surely feel it. If he doesn’t rush to your side immediately then I don’t what else would work."
Alwin had a smirk on his face.
"Why would he rush to my side just because of that?" Arabella didn’t understand.
Alwin smirked yet again, and it made Arabella worry.
"Receiving mana from another man could mean a lot of things. But it meant you would reek of my mana, and he would feel it. Who wants to feel their mana getting pushed back for another man’s mana to be accommodated?"
’Eh? Isn’t that even more dangerous than me jumping from the Magic Tower?’
"Alwin, you do understand that Ferdinand might get furious with you?" Arabella pointed out.
"Yes, but he would return here. And you would explain why we had to do that. He won’t listen to me. Or do you have another plan in mind? You have been trying to contact him, but he wasn’t responding, right?" Alwin pointed out.
Arabella gulped and glanced at the floor. Alwin was right. None of her attempts to contact him seemed to have reached Ferdinand.
What else could they do? Wait for years to pass without him?
No, she couldn’t do that. She already missed him so badly in just a matter of months. Years would be too much.
She was not into intentionally putting herself in harm’s way either, so simply receiving Alwin’s mana would be better.
Ferdinand might get furious, but at least he would return. And they could indeed explain.
Getting scolded was better than waiting for years not knowing when he would return.
Arabella gathered her resolve and finally replied, "Alright. Let’s do that. Don’t blame me though if I cannot convince him not to scold or punish you."
"I won’t. But you must do your best or I won’t help you if you’re in trouble," Alwin ensured he was going to be safe.
"Alright. Alright. You are a very useful ally after all."
"Of course, I am," Alwin was proud.
If there was something about him that was like Ferdinand, it would be their damn confidence in themselves when it came to their skills and usefulness.
"Right, why are you covering the lower part of the letter? Let me read it too. I need to know the whole story."
"I’m not sure you’d like it."
"Who cares?"
’Ugh. Fine.’
Arabella then handed him the letter so he could read it fully. He was done in a few seconds.
"Huh?! What is she talking about? My Uncle is already married. And isn’t she already getting married to Darcus and Orpheus?! Why did they even allow her to send a letter like this?"
Alwin was horrified that Evania was still interested in other men despite already having two men as her future husbands.
But Evania did not mention anything about her engagement getting approved by her father so it must not have been settled yet.
"Then, I can just tell her your uncle is already married. Does he have children too?" Arabella inquired so she would know what to tell Evania.
"Yes, he has children. And he is loyal to his wife so there’s no space for Evania. Tell her to focus on her husbands," Alwin fumed.
’He seems to care about his uncle.’
Arabella surmised that, maybe, Alwin simply did not want to be with the elves, so he chose to stay at Ferdinand’s side even when he grew up and understood that Alvis was his blood relative.
Arabella then replied to Evania’s letter.
