Chapter 581: Their Fight Could Last for Too Long
"Let’s wait and see. Who knows, you may fall in love harder than we do?"
"Never."
Alwin was disgusted by the idea.
"Fine. Maybe it’s too early for you," Arabella gave it up for now.
She had already fallen in love when she was a teen but maybe Alwin’s mate wasn’t born yet if he was supposed to marry a human as well just like Ferdinand.
"As I have said, I will never fall in love," Alwin insisted.
"Yeah, yeah."
[She doesn’t believe me at all. Tsk. I shouldn’t have asked if she was alright. I just thought I’d ask her since His Majesty was often melancholic the times, I saw him kiss his ring.]
"Thank you for worrying," Arabella smiled.
Alwin flinched when he recalled she could hear his thoughts.
"When do you think he’s coming back?" she asked in a low voice.
"Maybe, this would say something about that. I received this just earlier," Alwin showed her a black envelope with a red seal. He said a black messenger bird made of magic brought it to the Magic Tower.
It had the label: To Her Majesty, Empress Arabella Lobelius Valeria.
Arabella recognized the handwriting. It was Evania’s.
"Oh, that’s the letter Riley informed me about," Arabella was about to hold it but Alwin lifted it up so she wouldn’t be able to reach it.
"I said you can’t touch it, which was why I had Riley teleport you here," Alwin reminded her. They had to be careful since the Shadows may be up to something.
"Oh, right. Then, please open it."
She was excited to read it since they had asked Evania, Darcus, and Orpheus to inform them about any news they heard about Ferdinand.
"Step back," Alwin cast a barrier around her before opening the letter without casting a barrier around himself.
’Isn’t he overconfident he could do anything? What if it had another curse?’ Arabella frowned.
Alwin made the envelope float in the air and used magic to open it. He inspected it closely.
"Hmm, nothing seems to be wrong with it."
Alwin made a glove for his hand and picked up the letter, there was no reaction. He then touched it by hand and inspected it closely.
He partially opened the letter as well to ensure nothing was placed there that would be activated by the letter being opened. There was no reaction either.
Since there was nothing wrong with the letter, he finally undid the barrier around Arabella and handed it to her.
It was written by Evania indeed but was sent through Orpheus’ powers.

To Her Imperial Majesty:
I hope you are faring well.
I have successfully reached my homeland and asked my father to undo the curse.
I hope His Eminence has recovered by now.
The sun does not shine here indeed but the stars are beautiful. I’m trying to get used to not having the crystal-clear day and blue skies we have in the human realm.
Regarding His Imperial Majesty, he did visit our territory with the King of Elves.
My father said they got furious and attacked when they learned that Alwin was imprisoned when he was here and was even cursed.
There was a huge crater outside the palace that was carved out from His Imperial Majesty’s attack. We had it filled with water. Everyone was rather grateful for the new lake.
Ah, please don’t worry. There were no casualties.
His Imperial Majesty merely demanded that my father undo the curse on Alwin.
My father promised to undo the curse but only once Darcus and Orpheus returned here with me.
His Imperial Majesty and the King of Elves were supposed to stay here and wait for the curse to be undone before they left.
However, the sleeping Great Primordial Dragon of Darkness was awakened due to His Imperial Majesty’s presence here.
The Great Primordial Dragon of Darkness came and invited them to his territory. My father was supposed to go with them, but they simply vanished.
After that, the territory of the Great Primordial of Darkness was surrounded by an impenetrable and unbreakable barrier. Not even my father could enter.
There was no sound coming from the Great Primordial’s territory, probably due to the barrier but tremors on the ground to earthquakes of various magnitude came after that. Monstrous amounts of mana were also released, so Father figured the two Great Primordials were fighting.
Even as I was writing this letter, the earthquakes still happen. They had to use a barrier so I could write properly.
I believe they had been fighting without rest since the first day they left here. My father said never to interfere in a Primordial’s fight unless we want to die so we are waiting for it to stop before trying to communicate with them.
We don’t know what else to do so I had this letter sent instead.
My apologies, this was all the information we could gather.
. . .
Um, by the way, Your Majesty. I heard Alwin’s uncle, the King of Elves looked like an elder and more mature version of him.
Uhm, what I mean is, that maybe I should admire him instead.
I’m willing to trade any more information I hear about His Imperial Majesty if you could exchange it with me for information about his uncle.
I’m looking forward to your response. I’ll do my best to try and gather more information about His Imperial Majesty in the meantime.
Sincerely,
Evania

"Huh?! So, Ferdinand was in a fight this whole time?!" Arabella fumed and almost tore the letter into pieces but didn’t. "I was worried all this time. But he must be having so much fun finally getting in a fight?!"
"What do you mean? What’s in there?" Alwin inquired curiously because of her reaction. He only had a glance at the start of the letter.
"Read for yourself," Arabella covered the part about Alvis and let Alwin read the first part. He was wide-eyed.
"No. You were right to be worried. The fights of the Primordials could last for decades, centuries, and even several millennia. If we don’t do something, they could keep fighting without noticing time. Raymond said the gods only allowed the Primordial Dragons to hibernate to death after they fought for too long that the world was almost laid to waste, never to recover again."
"What?!" Arabella was horrified at Alwin’s explanation.
