Chapter 567: Several Millennia Old

A new room was prepared for Evania in the Magic Tower since she could no longer stay in her room in the palace with her mana and dark energy rising every single day.

Likewise, since she knew her identity as Evania now, she would be treated as a Princess from now on.

They waited for hours but Evania did not wake up.

"How old was she again?" Alwin inquired.

"Twenty millennia and two centuries old," Darcus and Orpheus replied at the same time.

’20,100?!!’ Arabella’s jaws dropped in shock, so she covered her mouth with her hands.

Even Alwin was wide-eyed since he also did not know the age of Evania.

"May I inquire, how old the two of you are?" Arabella asked since she needed to know just how elderly are these people.

She was reminded that her husband was indeed among the long-lived races.

"Twenty-two millennia and four centuries (22,400), Your Majesty," Darcus was older than Evania.

"Twenty-three millennia and five centuries (23,500), Your Majesty," Orpheus was older than Darcus.

Yet, they all looked so young as if they were just in their early twenties.

’Since they acted respectfully with the Elders, this meant Ferdinand and Raymond were even older than these three? Just how old is Ferdinand then?’ Arabella was becoming more curious of her husband’s real age.

But Ferdinand did not want to say his age when they were talking about it, so she did not push.

Darcus and Orpheus were about to ask Alwin’s age, but he quickly diverted the topic when he realized what they were about to ask him.

They were so much older than he was but Alwin did not want to treat them like they were among his elders so he did not want to say his age.

"I believe this may take days since she has to recover so many memories," Alwin reverted their attention to Evania.

"That’s highly likely," Orpheus agreed since he was also a magician.

Darcus could use magic, but he was more focused on combat.

Arabella and Alwin both had tons of work to do so they left Darcus and Orpheus to guard Evania.

Riley also remained to watch the two guests.

As Alwin had supposed, Evania remained asleep for days. Thus, Arabella focused on her work in the meantime while waiting for Evania to wake up.

(Three days later...)

"Your Majesty, Evania has awakened," Alwin reported.

It had been three days since Evania passed out.

Arabella was beginning to think Evania might sleep longer, but she finally awakened.

"How is she? Did everything go well?" Arabella stacked the documents she was working on and placed them in her drawer.

She would have to visit Evania.

"Darcus and Orpheus asked her questions, and it seems she did regain some of her memories but not all of it. It may take some time since it was twenty millennia worth of memories."

’That’s true. I only recovered parts of my memories of the past but it already took me three days to wake up.’

"I see. But does she already recall her lover and fiance?"

What was important was for Evania to recall enough for her to go home. Her memories may return much faster as well if she was in her homeland where she had experienced everything in her memories.

"Yes. The memories she recovered were her most recent memories in Umbra. It works well for us since she easily agreed to go home when the two spoke with her," Alwin revealed.

"Oh, they already talked about it. That’s a relief," Arabella was grateful they did not need to persuade Evania. "Let’s go to her room then."

"Huh? Why should we? She is already well so they should come to you. You are the Empress here while she’s the Princess of a foreign land. And they still owe us a favor. They should be the ones paying you a visit and giving you a greeting," Alwin reminded.

He said he didn’t like noble etiquette and all that stuff, but he was actually quite strict with it getting followed especially if it had something to do with Ferdinand.

Arabella was Ferdinand’s wife so any disrespect to her meant a disrespect to Ferdinand. Thus, Alwin was particular, unless he, himself, was the one being disrespectful.

"But are you sure she is already well?" Arabella verified. It would be rude to their guests if she summoned their princess here if she was still in a confused state.

"She is. I stayed outside her room, but I checked her mana. Everything was alright. She was emotional when she had just awakened and was oozing with strong dark energy, so we did not inform you immediately."

Alwin said it had been hours since then, so Evania was already calm and stable after speaking with Darcus and Orpheus for a while and getting updated about her homeland.

"I see. Summon them here then."

Following royal etiquette, Alwin was indeed right so Arabella had the three summoned to her study instead.

They had Alfredo prepare tea and light refreshments and Alwin teleported it to Arabella’s study.

A few minutes later, Riley arrived with the Evania, Darcus, and Orpheus.

The formal pleasantries were done before all of them sat down for tea.

"How are you feeling, Princess Evania?" Arabella addressed Evania formally.

"I’m fine, Your Majesty. Please speak to me as usual. I can remember my memories here," Evania said since she was not used to Arabella speaking with her that way.

"But I must. You know you are Princess Evania now," Arabella did not let up since Darcus and Orpheus were also there. She also needed to get used to this. "I heard you have recovered some of your memories."

"Ah, yes. But only a few. I do remember my identity now and that I escaped from my homeland. Thank you very much for Your Majesty’s efforts in helping me. I would have lived completely ignorant of the truth if not for Your Majesty’s kindness and efforts in organizing all this," Evania bowed her head.

"We are ever grateful to Your Majesty," Darcus and Orpheus also bowed.

"It was my pleasure to have been of assistance. But this wasn’t just me. I believe it’s Alwin you must thank for this since it would have not been possible without him. He went through a lot of ordeals for this to be possible," Arabella gestured to Alwin who was standing behind her.

[Eh? This is Alwin?!] Evania did not notice since he had changed his cloak into something that looked like Rowan’s and hid his face and presence with magic.

The three bowed and thank him as well.

Alwin had no choice but undo the spell and remove his hood to show himself.

"Oh my, goodness!" Evania paled when she looked up and saw Alwin in his cursed state.
