Chapter 559: With Rewards

"But please remember that you are prohibited from taking these documents out of this office. All of these will remain here for a month where you can freely check it," Arabella had to remind them since they might get too excited and take it with them.

"Yes, Your Majesty."

They were already eager to check their detailed results. But Arabella wasn’t done yet. She had one last announcement.

"Each of these boxes had your corresponding name on it. And beside each is an empty open box, also with your name. From today onwards, you will place the documents you worked on, in the box with your name.

"While the documents are there, your fellow assistants may read and check the documents you worked on for possible errors or simply for review. If you notice a mistake one of you made, you may approach the person and have it revised. This way, you can help each other improve and likewise learn new things.

"All the original copies and revisions will be attached to the latest version of the document and also be placed in the box. Those who have made corrections or suggestions will have to write it on paper, sign it, and attach it to the document."

[Is this because of my accusations to the three?!] Narcissa noticed.

It was indeed. Arabella also addressed Narcissa’s concerns so she would not think she only sided with the three.

But that wasn’t the only reason.

Arabella realized that the others may also be wondering about the extent of the skills and capabilities of their workmates.

This will help satisfy their curiosities and likewise provoke them to be more competent when they notice that someone is better than them.

Knowing that they were better than the others about something would also boost their confidence.

It will help them learn more about what they can and cannot do and where they should improve.

For instance, Ivan, Nadia, and Odette were good in almost everything but had limited to no connections.

Narcissa was also good in almost everything, but her connections with the nobles were among her best assets.

Oscar had strong connections with the Knighthood due to his family background so they could depend on him to work on matters with connection to the knights, security, and the like.

Egbert, while laughed at by a lot of people in Vertus in the past had finally proven he was capable of becoming a civil servant when she was hired by Arabella. And being from Vertus, Egbert was the one with the most connections when it came to Civil Servants because their duchy produced a lot of scholars to work here in the capital.

All of Arabella’s assistants had their own unique assets they did not know were valuable.

By seeing the work of their fellows, she hoped they would realize the value of what they have and can do and not hesitate to enrich it.

Hopefully, as they get to know themselves and each other, they will believe in each other’s abilities, and build a closer working relationship.

"Then, Your Majesty, does this mean, all of us can read and edit a single document?" Ronald asked for verification.

"Yes."

Everyone slowly nodded their head as they thought about it.

[Wow! I love this. I want to read everyone’s work and learn from them!] Nadia was excited. [Oh, wait. What if the documents I worked on had a lot of mistakes?!]

[I’d love to read all the documents everyone worked on. But Narcissa won’t make issues with what we worked on, right?] Odette was worried.

Arabella had already scolded Narcissa a lot. If she abuses this new policy, then she’s making trouble for herself. This was also one of Arabella’s tests for her.

[I had been curious about the quality of his work. He works too quickly so Her Majesty had added to his workload.] Norbert glanced at Ivan.

After seeing how Ivan had quickly finished the tasks and tests in the selection, Norbert already knew he must be capable. Especially after Arabella even had to add more work for Ivan so he would have something to do for the rest of the working hours.

And it wasn’t just Norbert. Everyone was curious to see just how good Ivan and every one of them were.

Arabella stopped herself from smirking. She could already see their competitive spirits getting ablaze.

Having competitive workmates would help them grow more as they continue to challenge each other.

She would be sitting back and watching them compete and improve.

Of course, the better they would become, the lighter her workload would be, and the easier her future plans would be implemented.

She would not be stingy with increasing their pay either since Valeria had the budget for it. And she still had a lot of items she could gift them.

’Hmm, maybe I should add a reward?’

Arabella thought about it while her assistants were busy opening their exam results.

There were those who were satisfied. There were those who were disappointed. Yet, all of them were determined to prove their worth and improve even more.

Arabella was delighted by their response, so she decided to add a reward system.

"Seeing that you are all eager to work hard, I have decided to add a reward system.

Monthly, I will give a reward to the one who gave the most corrections on the documents.

Likewise, I will also reward the person with the least corrections done on his or her work.

Meaning, that corrections were not necessary.

There would also be a reward for the person with the most noticeable improvement in his or her work in a month’s time."

[I must get at least one of those rewards!]

[I want to get all those rewards!]

[It will be tough with everyone as my opponents. But I will aim for those.]

She smiled as everyone was even more determined.

They wanted to get all the gifts and gather a collection they could show off and brag about to those who underestimated and looked down on them.

"Ah, but what about Ivan, Your Majesty? He works on more documents than us?" Felix inquired.

"Oh right. That would indeed be unfair," Arabella realized when Felix asked.

Hi everyone!

I’m so sorry for the sudden hiatus. It was very long too.

As you already know, I got sick last November. But just two or three weeks passed and I got sick again.

It began a few days before Christmas celebrations and only ended last January 15th. It was so terrible. I was taking medicine straight for so long.

I simply went out to buy groceries and removed my mask for a few minutes, but I got sick much worse than the first. So, please, be careful everyone.

I had to recuperate and lay low after I got better so I can only publish more Chapters here again now.

Take good care of your health, everyone.

Health is wealth indeed. And we only realize it when we begin feeling weaker. Lol. I probably sound like your grandma but I’m saying this because I wish you all well. Stay healthy and strong, everyone.
